The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
Cloud Grandfather

The woman was still eating the dishes in front of her while joking with Kak Reza. He was wearing a maroon-red long canal. I looked at the woman still with great admiration. Her pure white skin, her short black hair, her slightly narrowed eyes, and her tiny, thin lips made me slightly envious of her as a woman.

Sometimes I realize the woman glanced back at me. I looked away and tried not to attract attention. I invite Kak Baruna to just talk to kill boredom.

"Sister, Grandpa Awan, what do you want to say?"

"Content .... I don't know."

"Why does it seem like he's going to say something shocking?" my many.

"Yes, I noticed he was different than usual, a little serious. Even though our house rarely speaks. Yesterday he just got home from another business trip."

"Actually I wonder why Grandpa Awan knows Elvina, my Grandma?"

"I've heard of dad. They used to know each other close. I've never asked Grandpa."

I nodded in understanding. Grandpa Awan's figure was so authoritative. His tone was firm and spoke wise words.

I blinked my eyes for a moment. My eyes were on the woman's face again. Suddenly he smiled at me. I returned his smile too. My curiosity about him has not gone away. I have to ask Brother Baruna.

"By the way, you know Kak Reza's girlfriend?" I looked at Baruna's face.

"Yes, her name is Dita. We've known him for a long time. He was close friends with Reza. But recently Reza said she's been dating him" she explained.

"I as his sister don't even know at all. The huft! Brother seems to be covered up with me," I snorted.

"Not everything has to be told, right?"

"Yes, but I'm so sorry he's like that. My only brother doesn't believe in his own sister" I said annoyed.

"Don't get mad! You guys are grown up. Although you were very close, now your world is different. He decided to be with that woman. You're afraid Reza's love for you is diminished?" ask Brother Baruna.

"Little bit" I replied slowly

"You still have me. We are getting engaged and getting married soon. No need to worry about things you shouldn't."

"That's not all, brother."

"Then?"

I was silent not answering. My heart cannot accept it. It's not about affection alone but it's possible that he's interfering with my personal life, whereas I don't know anything about his personal life at all.

What does he think of me? I'm his sister.

Brother Baruna who saw the angry look on my face suddenly held back a laugh. I then pinch his arm in retaliation.

"Ouch!" his screeches. "Sher, if you're upset with her, you don't scold me either."

"You guys are the same." I stared cynically.

Baruna's cell phone rang. There was a call coming in from out of who. He answered his phone call and walked away from the dining room. Looks like an important phone.

I circled my eyes looking at the faces of the people who were still in the dining room. They seem to be busy with their own activities. Grandpa Awan, Papa, and Om Anton talk about the current economic and political situation. Aunt Meri and Mama talked about fashion and food trends. The couple still looked familiar laughing lightly. While me? No one cares about my frustration.

"Egem .... Ehem ...."

Grandpa Clouds voice sounded blaringly stopped all of our chatter. We all looked towards him. It seems like he will say something important.

"Good night everyone. Earlier I thanked all of you for coming to my humble hut. Tonight is a family gathering because we are going to be one big family. But as you know later we will become one big company that we will bequeath to our children and grandchildren."

I looked at Grandfather Cloud who was talking. His calm style of speech made me get carried away in his words. Brother Baruna who had just returned after receiving the phone immediately sat down and joined in listening to Grandpa Awan's words.

"The soul cannot be lied to. My health has deteriorated lately. Anton's health as you know has just had a heart attack. I've decided with careful thought that I'm going to quit the business and the company. According to my notary, Baruna, who will marry Sheryl, will replace my position in the company."

Brother Baruna was stunned to hear Grandpa Awan's words. He looked at Grandpa Cloud with a blank look. The look on his face showed great shock. A big surprise that might later change the days he lived. Not long after, his face turned angry and disapproved.

"Grandfather, I'm sorry. This news surprised me a lot and I didn't agree to it. Grandpa should remember that Grandpa has two grandchildren. Me and Reynand as father's eldest son."

"I'm sorry Grandpa, but this decision has come to an end. This is Grandpa's promise. Grandfather was very grateful when finally this promise of Grandpa could be realized. Oh yeah, you don't have to mention that name anymore. Life must go on ahead. Then tomorrow in the office we will discuss this meeting," Grandpa Awan replied as he left us all in the room.

I'm really confused. Grandfather Awan announced such an important thing in the dining room.

Reynand's? I know Baruna is the only granddaughter of Cloud's Grandfather.

I saw Om Anton and Aunt Meri who could only keep quiet. They could not comment anything in front of that stubborn Cloud Grandfather.

"Well, how's this?" Baruna looks worried.

"There's nothing you can do to refuse your grandfather's request. He's very stubborn. That was his decision. Yes you have to go" replied Om Anton.

"But why not just Dad?"

"Sorry son, I'm old. I want to cut down on a little office work. You know, Dad just got home from the hospital. It's you already. You are still young. You definitely can. I'm sure."

Brother Baruna glanced at Aunt Meri with a clear face.

"Oh this kid. It's good you replaced grandpa. Surely can. The spirit of dear dong." Aunt Meri cheers.

"Yes Nak. You have to be confident. Om used to be your age has also been given a big responsibility," added Papa.

"Hey Bro, the spirit continues. Be a great person" added Reza.

"Your grandfather knows what's best for you" Mama replied.

Baruna then looked at me.

"All it's up to Brother. I can only support Brother," I said.

Baruna was silent to all the support given to her. He still shows annoyance. No one supported him. He nodded and left us all.

I glanced at Brother Reza and asked, "Sister, did I say something wrong?"

"No, just calm down. He just needs a little time to accept everything. He will come back later too. I know who he is" replied Reza chuckling.

I nodded in understanding. These two people made me so amazed at the friendly relationship between them. They are very understanding of the contents of their heads and their respective nature.
