The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
S3 Brother Relations

Here is where we are at the moment. Sitting face to face, circling a round table in a Padang restaurant close to doctor Naya's boutique. We enjoyed the lunch without much talk. So noisy and strange the atmosphere.

Reynand. Baruna's half-brother did not take a word out of his mouth either. He concentrated on cutting the grilled chicken with his spoon and fork, then chewed it slowly.

Oh my god, that's right! You think you're reading a book and you need to concentrate, Sher?!

I let out a breath. My eyes danced to them in turn. Nayara looked at me and Reynand.

"No exclaiming!" suddenly shouted.

Reynand flinched looking at him. His face with wonder. "What's not exciting?"

"You guys."

"Me and Sheryl?" The man pointed at himself.

"Yes! After marriage, so is this your relationship? Awkward and weird." The pretty face of the doctor looks not like.

Hearing Nayara's words, my eyeballs popped out. "What do you mean, Nay?" shirihku.

"Yes, you interact so awkwardly. Can it look ordinary?"

"I think it's normal. I don't know according to Sheryl." Those sharp eyes glanced at me.

I snorted, putting on a smile towards Nayara. "We are like this. What do you think our relationship should be like, Nay?"

"Because you are already brothers, you should be on good terms like me and Brother Farhan." Nayara suddenly got up from her seat, ruffled around her waist staring as she moved a pair of lips before me and Reynand.

"We're fine, Nay." I reassured the woman's doctor again.

"No! You two are weird." Nayara remained on his feet.

"As far as you go!" Reynand just shook her head, then continued eating her lunch.

I just glanced at her who remained relaxed even though Nayara accused her like that. He doesn't care about what others think of our current relationship. Like I said, I respect him. Out of respect for this man in front of me, I don't want to get any further involved in any conversation. My gaze then turned to the rendang meat and rice dishes combined in one plate, then decided to eat it again.

Nayara who was dissatisfied with Reynand's answer finally sat down, back at the dish on her desk. Not long after, he suddenly got up from the chair while holding his stomach, grimacing.

"I go to the toilet first. My stomach feels heartburn" he said, walking in haste without hearing our response.

"Hey, Nay!" call me 'cause I saw him carry a wallet and a cell phone with him. However, the woman seemed to have deliberately left, as she did not turn her head in the direction of our table one more time.

"It's okay. Maybe he's just kebellet." Reynand replied in a flat tone.

"You don't see?" My eyes widened to the point that the man raised his face slightly, looking at me. "He had his cell phone and wallet with him. You think he's really going to the toilet?"

Hearing my words, Reynand turned to her side. Nayara's private property has disappeared without remaining. Instead of being upset about being abandoned, the man laughed as if he was experiencing something funny.

"It's not funny, Rey," I said objecting.

"Yes, already! Wanna flap? He's a nosy guy. Eat only," he timpalynya while looking at my plate is still half left. "Look! You haven't finished your meal."

I let out a breath. Looking at the white rice and rendang meat that made me suddenly feel nauseous.

Haish! What's wrong with me? Can't I be this groggy?

"Sher's? You okay?" asked Reynand who was suddenly worried. I almost spit out my own food.

"I'm nauseous!" I said, standing up straight away to the toilet.

One of the empty rooms witnessed that my nausea was just a suggestion. I didn't puke. Just spit a few times.

What the hell's going on?

After calming down and sure of not being nauseous anymore, I came out of the toilet cubicle, walking in shaky steps. Large mirror of the sink to be a reflection of the honesty of the face today.

"All right," I murmured, grinning. "What's all right? We never even spoke well after she cancelled our wedding on H."

I washed my hands and cleaned up the hairdo that stood unkempt. A second later, walk out the toilet.

"You okay?" reynand asked with anxious face water. Looks like this guy is waiting for me at the door.

"It's okay," I replied gently.

"Do I need to go to the hospital? You're pregnant, aren't you?" He asked back.

Crazy one! What the fuck is that question? Baruna didn't put her seed before we were as legitimate as her and I .... Haish!

My mind drifted back to our jahiliyah age.

"No!" I said briefly, then hurried away leaving the man.

Arriving at the round table, immediately grabbed my small sling bag that I had intentionally placed on the table. "I'm home, Rey! No appetite for food."

"Who are you going home with?" ask Reynand again. The man quickly stood in front of me.

"Sir Amri. He's waiting for me in the car in front of the shop."

"I send! My car was there too" he said.

I swallowed, unable to resist. The more he refused, for some reason he got closer. I should have really respected him like the position of a student who was saluting a red-and-white flag at Monday's ceremony. Solemnity.

He walked beside me. Walk up to the boutique parking lot. Suddenly, our phones sounded at the same time. A message from Nayara.

[Sorry, I left you. Hows it? Already familiar?]

I took a deep breath. "Nadzara!"

"Nayara's? You got a chat from him, too?" Reynand turned her gaze to my phone screen. I nodded slowly.

"You too?"

"He-em," he answered, shaking slowly. "It's familiar, huh?"

I half-smiled realizing this man beside me was getting the same message.

"I don't want to get along with you, Rey." The words were sliding so smoothly out of my mouth.

"I know," he said then fell silent. "Makanya, I don't want to pay attention to Nayara's words earlier. But I think I was wrong. I was so worried about you when you seemed to want to spit out your entire stomach earlier. In my deepest heart, wishing that you weren't pregnant and that came true when you answered it straightforwardly."

"Rey, you ...." I was confused to hear his words.

What the hell is he thinking? He's crazy if he keeps his feelings to me.

"Already! Forget my words. Next time, I won't show up in front of you" he said suddenly. A thin smile was seen on his face. He lowered his head, then walked away from me, into his car.

I stared long enough at the white sedan until it disappeared from the boutique parking lot. When I was sure he was gone, I got in the car.

"Road, Sir!" I said to Mr. Amri.

"Okay, Madam!"

Mr. Amri stepped on the gas of his car, obeying my orders. Within a minute, we were on the highway enjoying the hot view of Jakarta during the day.

"Sir, we're going to Asyraf's office. I want to see my husband" I said again.

"Okay, Madam."

I don't know. I feel like I have to meet Baruna. Calm my mind by telling me about what I just experienced. I don't want any secrets between us.
