Reynand PoVs

Kayla and I walked down every shelf of merchandise. Taking a variety of ingredients for cooking and also my personal needs during my stay in the apartment.

Kayla glanced at me with a smile, saying, "We're like a pair of newlyweds who are shopping monthly huh, Rey."

I turned to my right and left, raising my eyebrows while looking at him, "You're talking to me?"

"Jeez Reynand .... Who else am I talking to? You always make me snarl," he said anxiously.

"Where is Sheryl and Baruna?" I switched the conversation no matter. Look towards the back. They didn't look like both of their noses.

Kayla pulled out the phone from her bag. Tried to contact Sheryl, but I prevented her. They might need time to talk to each other.

"You don't have to call her, Kay."

"But Rey, why didn't they tell us they were going alone? It was you who came up with the idea to invite them to dinner at your apartment."

I was the one who gave the idea of dinner. I just wanted to see Sheryl for longer.

"Maybe they're uncomfortable being around me."

"Why? You're not getting close to Sheryl, are you?"

I fell silent, my eyes glancing sharply at Kayla. Not answering that question. I was too lazy to explain. Who is Kayla anyway? It's nobody to me.

"Well, if you don't answer. I'm used to your attitude like this" he said.

I ignored the woman and kept walking away from her to the cashier, paying for our groceries. Kayla looked at my face pouting then stomped her feet in annoyance. Then I walked in from behind.

Soon we were in the parking area of the mall. I put my groceries in the car and Kayla's groceries in her car.

"What about the food?" ask Kayla.

"You can take him home. I rarely cook," I replied.

"All right, we're separated up here. Nice shopping with you, Rey." Kayla kissed me on the cheek and got into her car.

I looked at his disappearance. Swiping the lip marks that stick to my cheeks while clucking annoyed.

The woman just acted like that.

Tonight I'm going to go to Mama's house. There is a little longing in my heart. However, I don't want to go home soon. Over time it seems like I feel more comfortable living alone without a family with a lot of drama. Especially after knowing there was a ridiculous agreement that made me laugh.

The rain started to fall. I drove my car out of the parking lot slowly. The quiet atmosphere of the streets did not make me rush to get home immediately.

I glanced to the left side of the road. A woman was sitting down at a bus stop by herself. He's been wearing clothes I've known all day. Knee-length dusty pink trousers she wears. He is Sheryl.

What's he doing alone in there?

I hurried to pull my vehicle not far from the stop. Open the black umbrella, then walk up to him. I looked closely at the woman. He was unaware of my presence beside him.

Seeing her head down crying made my chest feel tight, shaking, even I started to want to cry. Nah! I should have been his protector. Not crying looking at his face.

My black umbrella I immediately put it on the quiet stop floor. I held out my hand touching the top of his head. Gently caressing with an unrequited affection by her. He seemed to enjoy every caress I made. Her crying began to subside and awakened my smile.

The long crying subsided, suddenly broke back along with the swift rain that fell. Pitting against each other. I don't care anymore about the distance of a meter he once said. I grabbed her hand and her body into my arms. Hugged her tightly until she stopped her bitter cries.

"Sheryl, cry if it makes you feel relieved" I said slowly.

Not long after, his face looked up at my face. He pushed my body and then he ran away.

He did not look back. Continuing to run against the rain left me. A taxi stopped in front of him. In a hurry he got into the car. Leaving me who was staring at his departure with mixed feelings.

I then took my umbrella back, stepped into the car, and continued the delayed journey.

How are you feeling right now, Sheryl? Share with me.

Time has shown me at eight o'clock the night I parked my car in the yard. The front door wasn't locked, maybe Mama knew I was coming to see her.

Mama, Indira, and Daniel were already sitting waiting in the living room. Their eyeballs looked at me like a judge who wanted to drop his verdict.

"Rey, sit!" mom's orders.

I will sit down with them immediately. Looking at their suddenly serious faces.

"Mama got the information from Indira, if Kayla came to your apartment this morning. Mama knows that Mama keeps telling her to come near you, but you let her live in your apartment alone there and leave her to work. Isn't it outrageous to hang on to such a relationship? Then where would Mama's face be put if her parents know how you treat her that is not clear? How exactly is your relationship with him?" Mama looked at me with a lot of questions that made me shake my head.

"Kayla again ...," I muttered lazily.

"Yes, it's getting serious. How long are you guys gonna be like that?"

"Sir Rey, you better make the choice as soon as possible and not give her false hope" added Indira who made me more dizzy. However, I immediately switched the conversation.

"I thought I'd come here to see Mama. But I think I should be back soon. Mama's doing okay." I got up from my seat ready to leave.

"Rey! Don't go yet!" yell Mama.

"Ma, you better prepare your heart. The heir to the Asyraf family is still Baruna, not me" I said, switching the conversation.

"How do you know? The opening and reading of the will has not yet taken place." Mama responded.

"That's what I get from my father and an important letter. They've been determining it for a long time and it won't change, let alone Grandpa's dead and Anton's father has no power over anything. How, Ma?" I raised next to my eyebrows looking at Mama's face that looked doubtful.

"Then you keep quiet and do nothing?" tanyakanya.

"Tell me what to do, Ma? From the beginning I just wanted to obey my mother. Being the heir is not very important to me now" I said.

"That's because you've been playing with your own heart that now has feelings for Sheryl."

I was silent not commenting. Mama's words so right pierced my heart. It felt real, because my original goal had changed completely.

"If you focus on following what you have always planted so far, surely you will not falter."

"I know that Mama's hurt, but Anton's father has a reason to do it too."

"Love huh? Great you, son, are getting more and more like him. Can do anything for the sake of love for what is not his," he laughed a little.

"Mama, I don't want to argue about it. That's all I want to say now. Thanks for the time, Ma." I turned around and prepared to go out.

"Sister!" Indira walked preventing my steps. He looked at my face and hugged me for a moment.

"I will support whatever Big Brother is doing now," he said while nodding steadily.

"Thank you, Dir." I smiled at her hearing her words.

"Gue also supports lo, Rey." Daniel responded.

"Thank you, Niel."

I don't know what reason made my two sisters' attitude change. The support of the two closest people alone was more than enough for me to keep fighting. However, I saw Mama turn her face annoyed and then leave the living room. I don't know what else he's thinking.
