I was still sitting limp on the floor lamenting my fate like this. From a distance, I saw the figure of Bi Rindang walking closer. He helped me stand up, though my legs still felt limp like there was no energy.
"Sheryl's sister, let's help out, Auntie" he said.
I nodded and followed his steps. We walked to the front of Om Anton's office.
"Yes, Aunt stayed. Aunty was making coffee, '" she said.
I nodded slowly. Bi Rindang hurried to leave me. I pressed the door handle hesitated, but immediately ventured to enter.
The heat happens. I saw Om Anton pull Mr. Reynand's shirt collar. He's getting ready to hit my ex-boss. In the room was his wife, my parents, and Aunt Aina. Only the figure of Mr. Irfan who was not there. Maybe he left the house. Everyone in the room was shaking. No one dared to break up and stop Om Anton's anger. They can only watch.
I who saw the scene immediately shouted, "Stop!"
Anton looked at me. He relaxed the grip of his collar. Her face flushed. His jawline was firm showing anger.
"Om, if you want to hit, don't just hit Mr. Reynand. Hit me too. We are both guilty. Give us a lesson with punches until Om is satisfied" I said, looking into his eyes without hesitation. Violence today is not a solution to anger.
Anton did not answer. However, he hurriedly removed the clutches of that collar.
"Why removed? Give us a punch! Didn't Om really prefer to talk with violence all this time?!" ask me with a high note.
"Sheryl, don't interfere. I have to teach this kid a lesson!" exclamation Om Anton.
I stepped closer. Stand in the middle of them. Protecting Mr. Reynand from his own father's rampage.
"If it's like that, hit us at the same time. Even if you need to breathe out your last breath! Just so you all know, how sorry we are about this incident!"
"Sheril!" Mom yelling. He stood up. Pulling my hand and forcing me to sit on the sofa.
I grumbled following his orders. Anton rushed out of the room. The door to the workspace was slammed hard. Aunt Meri stood up as her husband walked out.
Mr. Reynand seemed to have let out his breath many times. Trying to calm down. Aunt Aina stood up. He left the room leaving his son. As usual with the steps.
Mr. Reynand turned to me. His face looks messed up. Soon after the mother came out. I was silent.
Staring straight ahead with hunting breath held back the anger.
What kind of father is he? I want to beat up my own son!
"Sheryl, you shouldn't have to interfere with Om Anton's business. Reynand must be taught a lesson."
I turned to look towards Papa. Looking into his eyes, "Is that how Papa behaves toward the person who has paid Papa's debt? Violence is not a solution. It only exacerbates a problem."
"Sheryl, think objectively. They're father and son."
"I've been too objective to follow Papa's wishes! I hate Papa!" I got up and ran away and left them.
Back again .... My life went back to the beginning. Where I have to follow all the rules they make. My feeling is that no one understands it. Or am I being too greedy? Lord, if my way of life should be like this, give me infinite peace of heart. Reveal each dream and hope back to him. The owner of this heart.
I kept running until I got out of the Asyraf residence. No matter how far this foot goes. Keep running! That's all I want right now.
Find a great place to end life on a bridge with a river flowing profusely underneath. I started to climb up the side of the bridge. Looking down the rushing river. Swallowed his saliva a little hesitating, but immediately closed his eyes and prepared to drop me.
Surprisingly I did not feel the cold water and wet clothes. Everything was still dry in the cold night wind. My waist was raised with a warm embrace from behind.
"Hey! Don't be crazy, Sheryl! You could die if you fall there!" There was the voice of a man. His voice sounded familiar to the ears.
I opened my eyes, realizing who the owner of the voice was. Mr. Reynand's Voice. My body thrashed asking to be released. However, he hugged me tightly.
"Let go! Let go of me, Mr. Rey!"
He then released my body. Lower it to stand on the bridge. Seeing me sobbing back. Both of his hands then held me. I was crying in his arms. Wailing in the silence of the night.
My eyes opened, noticing Aunt Aina standing in front of me. I pulled my body out of his child's arms. The graceful old woman looked at me with a haughty look.
"Let's go, Rey!" his orders.
Mr. Reynand stared inside. Without asking much, he pulled my hand to walk into the car.
"Take me off!"
"Who do you want to be here with? It's deserted here! There will be bad people who can mess with you!" yells.
He clenched his hand. Open the front door of the car and tell me to go inside. I complied and did not dare to look at the two people.
Mr. Reynand stepped on the accelerator. Drive the car at medium speed. No words were said throughout the journey from his son and mother. We all fell silent.
Drrt-drrt-drr!
My phone's vibrating. There was a call coming in. Reza's sister called. I took the phone out of my pocket and answered the phone.
"Hello, Brother."
"Where are you?"
"On the way home."
"Who?"
I haven't had a chance to answer, when suddenly Mr. Reynand snatched my phone and talked to Mr. Reza.
"Sheryl is me. I'll drive home safely."
After that, he returned my phone back. I went back to talking to Reza, "I'll be home soon."
"Be careful, Deck."
Reza's sister turned off the phone. Mr. Reynand turned to me for a moment and then refocused on driving. Twenty minutes later, the car came into my yard.
"Thank you for driving" I said, opening the car door.
"For my future wife." He replied with a smile.
I didn't answer. Then it passed leaving them with empty eyes. Not having a passion for life.
"Sheril!" Mr. Reynand's voice was heard calling.
Stalled steps. Close your eyes for a moment with a grim heart.
That guy always sucks.
I twisted my body to face him. He kissed my forehead.
"Good night. Happy break. Tomorrow I'll take you to the office" he said.
I didn't answer. Immediately turn around to step into the front of the terrace. The man put his hand on my shoulder suddenly. I was aghast, my eyes wide open, and could only remain silent, resigned. He can have my body. But my feelings are still his.
"I promise to make you happy with all my soul forever, Sheryl" she whispered.
The whisper of his voice made my hair stand up. His actions always surprised me.
I don't want to marry Mr. Reynand!
