The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
Pessimist S3

Sheryl Pov's

I took a deep breath, got up from the table, grabbed some of the maps I was going to hand over to Aunt Aina. My eyeballs stared straight at the big door of his room. There was a bit of hesitation, but I hurriedly dispelled it. How not? I will never forget what happened.

My steps stopped right in front of the door. The memory suddenly flashed as Reynand led me into his mother's room.

Though no words had yet been slid from Reynand's mouth, but quickly Aunty Aina's drawn gaze immediately towards me.

"What is he doing here?" aunty Aina asked without saying my name from her lips.

"Sheryl will be Mama's secretary" Reynand said with a line of sentences that seemed to immediately make his mother's eye muscles tighten.

I drew a faint smile, looking down politely. However, there was no positive reaction seen from the look of Aunt Aina.

"Law me what else is this, Rey?" Aunt Aina smirked slantingly at her son.

"i'm serious. Sheryl's gonna be Mama's secretary." Reynand answered straightforwardly.

Aunt Aina got up from her seat. The sharpness with his breath made my body tremble slightly looking at him. He will surely launch words that make me sad and upset.

"So this is your attempt to get Mama to take Sheryl?" Aunt Aina raised her next to her eyebrows. The woman with the elegant appearance seemed to be able to read both of us.

"Eitherway. I don't want to take this as an effort. Mama herself asked me to find a replacement secretary. So, I decided to pick Sheryl. Anyway, he used to work with me. I'd be so grateful if you could get close this way. I'm ti–"

"That will never happen!" Quickly Aunt Aina cut out Reynand's words. His sharp gaze instantly led to me, "Sheryl, you should listen to this. I will never fall down this way. Remember that!"

It felt like my voice was stuck when I wanted to launch a single reply sentence. My head nodded slowly. I don't know what to nod for. Everything was my idea. It's impossible to just back off.

"So Mama couldn't have turned it down, right?" Reynand asked with half her smile.

"Whatever!" The face was gawking, throwing it away from our sight. However, I could see how his dislike of me was like a figure to be shunned.

The daydream is gone. One weeks. Today was exactly one week I worked with him. I have to deal with his indifference every day. How stingy a word came out of those thin lips. He used to send me chat messages more often to order me. Like a few minutes ago, he had me bring some reports and business proposals on offer for the company.

I held the door handle, about to open it. But suddenly the door moved quickly, attracted from within. In an instant, Aunt Aina was already standing with a bag hanging on her right hand.

"So get out" he said coldly.

I hurriedly pulled myself from his presence, giving him access to walk.

"Mother Aina." I said with my official call for her at the office.

Aunt Aina's steps stopped. He looked back. Without a word, one of his eyebrows instantly raised, waiting for me to speak.

"Where are you going? This afternoon, there's no scheduled out-of-office meetings with anyone."

There's no answer. Like a mute woman who had an iceberg in her heart. Holy hooch! God, how do you melt that mountain?

"I mean, I'm afraid someone's looking for you when you're not there. Do I need to be with you?"

"no need. Just call me when there's something important!"

After saying that, without making small talk Aunt Aina left me who tried to sigh long time and time again.

"When will it be like that?" my murmur immediately flipped over putting the entire map I had brought onto his desk.

As he was about to turn around, the sound of the phone ringtone sounded. My eyes were fixed on Aunt Aina's phone lying on the table. An unfamiliar name was seen there.

The ring stopped too. Before long, it sounded again with the same caller.

"Is there anything so important that I call Aunt Aina twice?"

An intent was about to raise that incoming call. But as I was about to reach out, I heard someone open the door. Instantly my heart was beating fast.

"Sheryl, where's Mama?"

Reynand's voice!

I turned around, then put my shoulder down. "Go, but he didn't say where he was going" I replied.

Reynand walked towards the table. "Haish! Why didn't he bring his phone?" Immediately, he grabbed Aunt Aina's phone that was still ringing with her floor, "hello, Dad."

Reynand answered the call from her father. Not caring about their conversation, I hurried over, about to return to my desk. But when this foot was about to step, it held back. Reynand's hand quickly grabbed my arm. With a look on his face, he hinted me to stay there.

"Yes, Dad. Later I will tell Mama," he concluded and turned off the call.

"What's up?" my many.

"Eitherway. I just said I wanted to meet Mama and talk about something important."

"Oh .. Then why are you arresting me?" I put my eyes on my arm.

Reynand hurriedly let me go. He put on his sweet smile. "Don't you miss me, huh?"

"We meet every day, Rey." I answered the question quickly for fear that someone would see us both in this room.

"Haish! Why should we keep our relationship a secret, anyway?"

"Because it has to be! I don't want people talking about you. You're single, and I'm...." My lips instantly shook.

"Why indeed? We are in a serious relationship. I'll marry you."

"Yes, if you get the blessing, or what? We're gonna break up. You and I will be labeled bad in the company. Besides, your mother's attitude hasn't changed to me either."

"Why are you being pessimistic? You're not sure we're getting married?" Reynand's forehead shriveled. He stepped forward, approaching.

"Eitherway. I've been doing my job as his secretary very well this week, but he's not looking at me either."

"Mama yelled at you?"

"No." I shook my head, "just, I feel so useless, Rey."

Reynand didn't say. He quickly held me in his arms. A magical hug that always calms me.

"Are you going to back off?"

Hearing his words, I immediately withdrew. Stare deeply. "No. It's been this far. I don't want to let you go. I love you, Rey."

"Then, take her cell phone with you now." Reynand drew her smile. Gave me his mother's phone.

I smiled back, grabbing the flat thing. But just as he was about to walk out, Reynand pulled my arm back. A kiss landed on my forehead, then dropped to my lips. His actions made my heart seem like it was going to explode. The red was glued in her gentle gaze.

"Eagerly, Honey! I will always support you" he said, wiping my head.
