The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
Meeting with Nesya

I sat in the corner of a steakhouse waiting for Nesya to come. This restaurant was the most frequent place I visited with Irene when we wanted to eat a steak. I glanced at my watch that showed at half-time but the waiting did not see the trunk of his nose.

The boredom of waiting came so quickly as this self was waiting for her beloved. I glanced at the glass of orange juice that had been on the table. I grabbed the drink and started sipping it slowly. A fresh taste came to my throat for a moment. Not long after a beautiful new bride came to me, she Nesya.

"Sheryl sorry I'm late" she said cheerfully.

"Yes. I just decided to go back to the office" I complained.

"Well, don't dong. Eh I was thirsty, ask for the juice," he said then grabbed the cold drink into his mouth until it was gone.

"Neng Nesya out of work rodi?" tanyaku.

"Ah Sheryl, aren't you sincere?" Nesya's face was disappointed.

"Haha .... You're the father of that Nes?"

"I'm sorry Sher," Nesya suddenly said with a sad face.

"I'm sorry why?" I'm confused because coming around already implies a sad face.

"I'm sorry I got married."

"Couldn't you? You have to tell me."

"Yes Sher. Why didn't I marry him. Haha." His face turned happy and laughed out loud.

I exhaled in annoyance, a grin I showed in front of him but he kept laughing at me.

"I'm sorry Sher. I just want to tease you. Next month you'll be married."

"Ah yes married," I said.

I almost forgot about the plan due to some recent events. Nesya looked at me frowning in wonder.

"Oh yes, we order food first. My time is not much," I said turning my attention as I called out to the waiter who happened to be walking towards us.

"Have you decided what kind of message Mommy?" the waiter asked smiling.

Nesya opened the food menu book. His eyes went through every menu.

"I'm salmon steak with mushroom sauce and blackcurrant soda. You what's Sher?"

"Same as well but wear blackpepper sauce yes. Just drink mineral water."

"Well I repeat, Ma'am, order one salmon steak with mushroom sauce, one salmon steak with blackpepper sauce, one blackcurrant soda, and one bottle of mineral water yes."

"Yes." Yeah." Nesya nodded, then the servant walked away from our table.

Nesya returned a glance towards me, "Why not get excited? You should be happy facing a marriage that is in sight."

"Aren't you going on a honeymoon?"

"Next week Sher. You know as a result of the fight my husband can't take time off for his honeymoon. Though Satya should be able to replace her brother temporarily."

"You know what happened?" many surprised.

"hey are. Who do you think was hit? She is my sister-in-law" he replied.

"Ah I almost forgot. How's Satya doing?"

"Today I just got home from the hospital. What the hell is going on?" looking at Nesya, his eyes stared intently at me.

I stared back into Nesya's eyes, "Satya didn't tell me?"

"He is a man who speaks as necessary. It's not easy to extract information from him."

I fell silent and started talking. Slowly but surely I told you what happened from start to finish, there was not a single thing I covered. Nesya listened to my story with a serious face. Until he expressed his opinion about the fight.

"Sorry, Sher, regardless of your and Satya's problems, about the fight, I have no respect for Baruna. I think he's a well-respected man who won't be able to muscle whatever the problem is."

"You said that because of your sister-in-law's victim, right?"

"So you think I'm lying?"

"I didn't call you lying but I also didn't believe Satya could say such a thing to you. He was a quiet man. You two really confuse me. On one side you're my cousin and on the other he's my sister-in-law. I can't take sides. But it's best that your problems with Satya should end immediately."

"It's up to you if you defend Satya. I told you the truth, there's nothing I've covered up. Baruna was wrong to not be able to control her emotions, but I appreciate her reason for doing so." I got upset and got up from the chair preparing to step out.

A waiter came with food and drinks and we put them on the table.

"Good fun" said the waiter and turned around.

Nesya nodded and pulled my hand telling me to sit back, "We have lunch first," he said.

I sat back down, turning my face away while being bent in annoyance. That delicious food tasted bland in the mouth following my bad mood.

"No need to bend your face like that. I know you from a baby. Your behavior is barbaric sometimes, sweet sometimes, funny sometimes, but that's what makes people like you. You're unique."

"Not to comfort me like that, Nes. I was barbaric a long time ago. Satya was the witness and the victim" I said, munching on a salmon steak.

"Then what can I do for you, Sher?"

"Right now it's quiet enough until I ask for help."

"OK I will wait until you raise the white flag to me" Nesya said.

I nodded and continued to eat my lunch. Nesya looked at me with a smile. Then suddenly I asked something surprising. A question I never imagined if a Nesya would ask.

"Where are you close to Baruna?"

"What?"

"Have you ever done that 'that' thing yet?"

I immediately choked on hearing his question. The piece of whole salmon meat that had just entered suddenly was immediately swallowed by the throat. I coughed as I grabbed a bottle of mineral water in front of me and chugged it impatiently. Nesya who saw my reaction just laughed giggling.

"Nes right, we're not married and you're asking me that," I responded when I was able to calmly control myself.

"Geez Sher, today it's not taboo. Just do it if you love each other."

"Damn it! You're making me feel like eating no more." I put my fork and knife on the plate.

"Hahaha," Nesya laughed at me for the second time.

"That's not Nes' joke" I'm upset.

"Okay sorry forget. But I did it before our wedding day."

"Crazy. Are you kidding me?"

"No I'm serious. The defense collapsed when we couldn't control each other's feelings."

"Luckily he married you too. Try if suddenly after you do the 'it' thing with her and you don't get married."

"I never imagined it, which is important now that he is my husband Sher" Nesya replied with a happy look on her face.

"It's up to you" I said lazily.

I glanced at my watch, time has shown at one in twenty minutes. I realized that we had been in this restaurant for too long. My break time is over. I hurriedly got up from the chair and paid a farewell to Nesya.

"Nes, I have to go back to the office. I'm late. Lunch let me pay" I said.

"No need Sher. Let me pay. I'm the one who took you out to eat" Nesya said.

"Thank you Nes. Greetings to Om and Auntie."

"Yes. Say my regards to Reza, Om the Great, and Aunt Rini."

I just nodded, shook hands and kissed both sides of Nesya's cheeks, saying goodbye. Walk out in a hurry from the restaurant inside the mall.
