The Marriage Order
S3 We Fight

Sheryl Pov's

"Are you just about to start?" Reynand cut the words while grabbing my wrist quickly. His gaze stares.

"I told you before, didn't I? Our relationship will never work. Never start it!" strict me to him.

"Why?"

"Because I already have a boyfriend and we've been living together!"

My breath says it. A little lie will definitely make him give up and not bring up our relationship. I'm sure it is. And sure enough, slowly the sharp eyes dimmed. His gaze turned empty. Reynand.

"Go!" he said without looking at me.

"Rey...."

"I said get out of front of me!"

His screams were shocking. Quickly, I turned around and left the apartment.

Yep! Your actions are right, Sheryl. It should be after this he did not insist anymore and quickly returned to Indonesia, my inner self.

World's collapsed. It was like a high-powered earthquake. My legs are shaking and limp. Unable to stand. I stepped back to sit on the sofa.

"Cannot be. It is not possible that soon he has another lover. He can't forget me. I could see it clearly in the look in his eyes. Sheryl must be lying. Yep! He must be lying."

I mumbled to comfort myself. But between those feelings, I felt that what he said was not true. If it's true, I really can't take his word at all. Then why else linger here?

I grabbed my phone, called Vishnu.

"Miss...."

"Yes, Rey?"

"Nu, he said he had a girlfriend." I said shrewdly.

"Shery?" Vishnu asked back.

"Yes. He just rejected me again. He said he had a girlfriend and they lived together here."

"That's what I said, huh? Don't be there for long! After your affair with Mr. Amancio is over, the hunt goes home."

"But, Nu. He's like a lie, huh."

"What lie, Rey? Just think about it a few times."

"No. The way he looked at it had not changed. He's still the same. If you have anything else, it can't be, right?"

"Lo doesn't know Sheryl, Rey!"

I took a deep breath. "Is that so, Nu?"

"Yes." Yeah."

Soon, I ended the call. While biting his lips full of disappointment.

"I have to find out the truth" I murmured.

The day went by the night I left the Diamond Smith Company. Sheryl's sitting in the steering wheel, driving me home. Yes, Mr. Amancio still had him serve my needs while in London.

I glanced at Sheryl from the reflection of the middle spy. He looked serious about driving. Not once did I talk. After her dubious confession yesterday, Sheryl did change. Maybe he was trying to avoid me.

I cleared my throat to make the woman glance in the same way. But only a split second he then set his gaze again forward. He was obviously trying not to care.

"Who's your girlfriend's name?" I tried to melt the cold atmosphere between us.

"Huh?" he sounded shocked.

"Yes, I asked you what is your boyfriend's name?" I repeated the question.

"Oh...." Sheryl was silent for a while before finally answering stammered, "Ja-James."

"The real Englishman?" I asked again.

"Ehm...." His eyes glared, seeming to think hard, "yes. He grew up in London" he replied.

I nodded with my lips cut. "What job? Which is better than me, huh?!" I'm a little upset that he mentioned another man's name.

"It can't be compared. He's not a businessman like you."

"Yes. He's an artist."

"Oh... Turns out your taste changed, huh?"

"You mean?"

"Ah, no." I shook my head with a wry smile, "I'm sorry for what happened yesterday. I didn't mean to kick you out."

"What's wrong. I get it."

"You don't understand," I said, which immediately made him speechless in a thousand languages. The atmosphere in the car was quiet again. I took a deep breath, trying to calm down for a while, "can you pull the car over for a second?"

"For what? We haven't reached your apartment." Sheryl asked confusedly.

"Save it. Am I not the boss now?" jumawa.

Sheryl doesn't say anything anymore. He quickly pulled his vehicle over the side of the road. I got out of the car, opened Sheryl's steering door.

"Let me drive" I said.

"But...." Sheryl refused.

"No, I won't tell Mr. Amancio," I said, eventually leading Sheryl to "sit beside me!"

"Huh?" The woman frowned.

"Ck! You still understand Indonesian, don't you?"

"D-yes." Sheryl nodded quickly. He sat down beside me.

I grinned at the look on his face that looked like a fool. Without wasting time immediately taking over the wheel.

A short while later, Sheryl seemed confused observing the highway. He looked at me.

"Rey, this isn't the way to your apartment. Are you lost?" said.

"No, indeed!" answer's short. It immediately veered into another apartment building that was located closer than my apartment building.

"Who told you where I live?"

"Who else? Of course Mr. Amancio." I pulled a thin smile.

"Haish! Shit!" the upset.

"It doesn't matter if I know where you live?"

"You mean?"

"Yes, as people who know each other and have a bad past, shouldn't we be kind to each other?"

"Rey...." Sheryl's water looked a little sulky.

"I'm thirsty! The drinks are all over." I reasoned.

"Ck! Yeah, already. Then just for a second, yeah!"

Even though my heart is beating uncharacteristically, I agree with his words. I'm most likely going to meet a guy named James. But as much as possible I want to hold myself back from being provoked by the emotion of seeing another man beside him.

Sheryl took me to her apartment unit. I stood behind him, waiting for him to press his armband. And finally the door opened.

So curious as to the truth, I immediately noticed all sides of his apartment unit room. On his open shoe rack, there was not a single pair of men's shoes. The coat hangers by the door are like that. There's only a coat, no man's coat. Even on all sides of the walls of the room and the nightstand, there was not a single photo of the two of them. There were absolutely no signs or items indicating a man was living in the same apartment.

"What do you want to drink?" her question immediately made my gaze shift towards her.

"A-white water only," I stammered.

"alright. You sit down first" he said, then shuffled away from me.

He lives alone. Sheryl's lying! my mind's upset.

Shortly, Sheryl returns. He brought a bottle of minerals and served them. "Drink."

I just looked at the bottle without touching it. Sheryl who was sitting in front of me frowned.

"Why don't you drink it? Didn't you just say you were thirsty?"

I took a deep breath, then threw it away quickly. "Why are you so happy to play with my feelings?!" I asked in an angry tone.

Sheryl seems to understand my question. His facial water instantly turned confused as well as frightened. But he did not answer it directly. It made me even more angry.

"Why don't you answer me?"
