I hate to admit this, but my brain keeps recording my debates with Papa until this morning. At half-time we were already gathered at the dinner table enjoying breakfast. Papa was silent and did not comment much. Reza sister was busy concocting two loaves of bread in her hand with her favorite fruit-flavored jam. The smell of coffee that filled all corners of the dining room was unable to melt my feelings of sadness and annoyance since last night. I put on a sour face to be among them. Mama who was stirring coffee for Papa on the dining table noticed me anxious.
"Sheryl is still early in the morning. It's inappropriate to bend your face like that in front of your Papa" Mama said.
Hearing Mama's reprimand made me take the initiative to lift both corners of the lips smiling forcefully even though only two seconds later resume my morning breakfast.
"Egem .... Ehem .... You don't have to do it if you don't want to," said Papa who suddenly raised his head to look at me.
I was speechless hearing Papa's words that were so piercing right with the atmosphere of my morning.
"Father don't start again" said Reza.
"Reza, Papa has decided to have a meeting of two families to sort out the problems between Sheryl and Satya. This problem should not drag on. Papa is really embarrassed to have a girl who behaves badly even though it happened in the past. Moreover, her family has become your Mama's big family."
I stare at Papa's face, which looks like he's talking seriously.
"Should it be done? I apologized to him."
"of course. If your apology isn't useful, then you need someone else to help you mediate, right?" rhetorical question.
"Right Sher, this time Mama agreed with your Papa." Mama looked me gently in the eyes.
"What should mediate between families for something like this? Isn't it too much? That Satya is not sane, she's obsessed with me." My inner self.
"If you think about it, too, Deck. Moreover, this also concerns the company. Where would you put your brother and Papa's face if you met them?" added Kak Reza defending Papa's talk.
"I'm done," I said rising up from the seat turning around and quickly stepped out.
"Sheryls! Papa hasn't finished talking." Papa shouted but I ignored him and accelerated my pace.
Reza's sister followed me from behind, pulling my hand. I looked up to face him.
"Don't be stubborn. Just follow Papa's words. We wouldn't know if we hadn't tried, would we?"
"No need to interfere" I said.
Kak Baruna's car popped into the gate to take our eyes off. The handsome and dashing man got out of his car with a neat appearance picking me up.
"Hey baby how did you sleep? Wakeless?" ask her with a radiant face.
I didn't answer the question. Brother Reza glanced sharply at Kak Baruna giving a code so that he did not speak further.
"Just this time you have to obey your father."
I snarled and hurriedly got into Kak Baruna's car, not wanting to argue any further.
"What's up?" ask Baruna slowly.
"Obviously, he's being as hard as a rock" Reza smiled at his best friend.
"Oh .. okay first yes Za," said Kak Baruna while getting into the steering chair.
Brother Reza just nodded with a smile then waved his hand at us. Brother Baruna turned towards me who was still a sour face. Turn on the engine of his car and start stepping on the accelerator.
The car runs slowly cleaving the highway that began to be crowded with road users. Brother Baruna put his hand on the back of my hand holding it tightly.
"Do it when it's a positive thing, baby" he said.
"You're the same as my family. You also had that fight. Is it a positive act?" I said right stabbing his statement.
Brother Baruna took a deep breath, answering my question calmly. "How would you feel if your loved one was publicly insulted after knowing he was almost treated arbitrarily in the toilet? What do you think you'll do after? Just a silent-backed chin watch? Or hastily go dodging with fear?"
"Papa wants to have a meeting of two families to mediate" I chanted slowly.
I nodded and said, "You know Satya doesn't just want to apologize to me right? He's not sane. He's obsessed with me, baby. I'm confused about what to do."
"When is the show?"
"Just plan. Papa hasn't told me yet."
"Tell me too. I'll be on the show."
"Are you going to apologize to him?" my many.
"Make what? I feel like I've done the right thing."
"You have to promise me, don't make a fuss at the show" I said.
"Yes I promise."
Half an hour later we arrived at the Pradipta Corp office building. I got out of the car and stepped towards the lobby door, standing in front of the elevator that had started to come down. Some people are waiting. But what caught my attention was Mother Aina who was waiting for the elevator to stand beside me. Her pretty face was not inedible age it managed to make me focus on paying attention to her.
Ting!
The elevator was wide open, I entered with a confident step followed by her. Surprisingly no one dared to come with us when there were about six more people waiting with me. Maybe they are afraid if they are in an elevator with Mother Aina who has terrible facial water.
The commissioner's mother turned her head towards me, raised her eyebrows then looked arrogantly. I smiled back kindly at him even though my heart didn't want to do it.
"Good morning Mother Aina," I said slowly.
"Again" he replied firmly. "Great girl Praja Kusuma why is she still here?" suddenly stumbled.
"meaning?" many confused.
"What does a child entrepreneur do working in someone else's company? Weird." Aina's mother shook her head.
I widened my eyes in shock at his sudden words.
"Did that bother you?" my many.
"That's it, but I don't have a problem with the Great Father's family. I'm just afraid you're interfering with my son's concentration on his original goal. Today he went to his father's company to meet with the board of directors."
"Asyraf Corporation?"
"Of course."
"Will he be the sole heir?"
Aina's mother did not answer my question. He stepped up and left me as the elevator opened in front of him. I bit my lips worriedly thinking about how Kak Baruna might be replaced by Mr. Reynand.
I heard a cell phone ring from inside the briefcase I was carrying. I grabbed the smart phone and saw Nesya's name my cousin called.
"Sher, where are you?" ask Nesya.
"New to the office" I replied as I sat down at the desk.
"Later lunch with yuk."
"Where's Nes?"
"Mall near your office. I'm waiting anyway. Let me know if it's there," said Nesya.
"OK on."
I ended Nesya's call, put the phone on the table, wiped the face with both palms of my hands no matter the makeup that might fall apart, and started the activity this morning with mixed feelings.
