Apparently, Serenity suffered a chronic illness on the way home. It was at that moment that Gerald realized that the trio that entered with him were the doctors called to examine him.

“Is grandma in her room? I didn't expect the illness to be this severe, so I'll see him first!” said Gerald who already knew that there was a problem with the old woman's body ever since he saw her back at the Georgia villa.

Although he did not reveal that he was aware of it because the timing was not right, Gerald was confident he could treat it.

To be honest, Gerald did not decide to come all the way here—after getting the latest news from Mountain Top Villa—just to chat with the Smith family. Instead, his goal was to cure his illness all along.

However, before any of the Smith family could answer Gerald's question, the male student Jace— who stood behind his master and looked to be around thirty years old— shouted coldly, “Wait! How insolent are you! Can't you see that my master is here? Are you trying to fool yourself or something? ”

Hearing that, another Jace disciple smiled subtly at Gerald before saying, “There is no need to behave like this, senior! From what he said, I assumed that he had come to take care of the patients as well! Is my deduction correct?”

Gerald simply returned his smile, though he was too worried about his grandmother's illness to care about the ridicule of his previous male apprentice. Choosing to see Gavin instead, he then asked, "How long has Grandma been sick, Mr Smith?"

After hearing Gerald's question, Gavin begins to explain what he knows about Serenity's disease. As it turned out, the disease had been around for quite some time now, and the old woman would suffer from it from time to time. The Smith family found a pattern in which every time he made an attack, it would always be followed by a few more in rather consistent intervals. Once it stops, no more attacks will follow until the disease strikes again.
