Chapter 1073

After running for quite a while, Gerald finally arrived at Thousand Sand Ridge. Upon arriving, he quickly learned why the area was named that way. With probably no less than a thousand overlapping sand dunes, the inspiration for the name of the area is obvious.

However, even after looking around for a while, he was still unable to find the ancient well that the Master of the Desert had mentioned.

Moments later—after walking quite a long time—when his nose smelled a strange scent, prompting him to look down. At his feet was a pool of blood!

Squinting his eyes, he saw that the blood had traces of dark green within it. That alone was enough to tell him that the blood belonged to the beast.

While Capra Nanny initially did not react much after the Gerald Dawnbreaker hit her chest, Gerald was convinced that she had managed to injure the beast, consequently causing it to be extremely uncomfortable.

After all, no matter how powerful the other party's defense was, they would still be severely injured after being hit by a Dawnbreaker!

Following the trail of blood, Gerald discovered where the ancient well was. If it wasn't for his blood, it would be very difficult to find him. After all, the well— located north of Thousand Sand Ridge— is very well hidden, unlike the cave entrance which is not clear.

As he approached the well, a horrendous stench filled his nostrils!

"The beast is here!" shouted Gerald while staring down the well.

Although the smell was truly terrible, Gerald had no other choice if he wanted to save Giya. Holding his breath, he then jumped into the well!

Realizing there was water at the base, Gerald prepared himself for the impact before diving straight into it. The well water flowed deep and after coming out the other end, Gerald realized that he was now in some kind of river.

Seeing that the river had a bank, Gerald had a premonition that he was currently in some kind of underground river.

As he swam to the riverbank, he quickly realized that the beast was present. At that moment, Capra Nanny was staring at the unconscious bodies of Giya and Meredith, her thorny tongue sticking out!

When he realized that there was someone else present, he turned to look. Upon realizing that it was Gerald, he immediately bared his fangs at him, simultaneously exposing his severely injured chest which was now bleeding profusely.

However, Gerald's first reaction was to exclaim, “Giya! Giya, are you okay ?! ”

Not getting an answer and seeing how pale the unconscious girl was, Gerald turned to look at the next Capra Nanny before bellowing furiously, “Basic beast! Let's see you try to escape from me again this time!”

With that, he threw the Dawnbreaker at the Capra Nanny while simultaneously running towards her to attack! With two sudden dangers to be tracked, the beast was caught off guard!

As a result, the Dawnbreaker easily pierced through the thick skin of the beast and instantly pierced its heart!

Even after that, the monster simply held onto his neck, continuing to shout.

Feeling increasingly anxious about Giya's safety, Gerald then orders Dawnbreaker to return to his hands while holding Capra Nanny's head and beheading the beast in private!

After finishing, Gerald continued running towards Giya while shouting, “Giya!”

After quickly checking his body for any injuries, Gerald is relieved to learn that Giya only fainted from lack of oxygen. As it turns out, Gerald fortunately had arrived before the beast could do anything to the two girls.

But now is not the time to be optimistic. The two girls were out of breath after traveling through the dunes for a long time. Unfortunately, there was only one method Gerald could use to cure him.

“...Sorry, miss! But I have to do this to save you!” gerald muttered to himself as he began performing CPR on Giya. Naturally, he had to do the same for Meredith. Although he did not like to do so, it was the only way to save their lives.

About ten minutes later when Gerald hugged Giya. Shaking him a little, he then said, “Giya…? Giya, how are you feeling..?”

A few seconds later, Giya's eyelids twitched as the girl finally woke up.

“...Gerald..?” giya said as her eyes instantly widened.

As she clung tightly to his arm in disbelief, Gerald himself realized that he had thrown away his mask early because of how anxious he was! Therefore, he now knew who he was!

“I-it was really you, Gerald...!” added Giya, now so excited that she looked like she was ready to cry.

Refusing to let go of his arm, he then continued, “I... I am not dreaming, right…? To think that I can finally see you again, Gerald... Did you know that I think of you every day during your absence.?”.

From how tightly he hugged into his arms, it seemed like he was worried that this was really all just a dream, and he would disappear again once he loosened his grip.

Understanding that, Gerald felt an acute pain in his heart.

He could only disappoint her so much in this life. Gerald couldn't bear to hurt her any further than this.

Moments after losing what to do, he thought for a moment as Giya continued to hold on to his arm.

A while later, she formed a surprised expression on her face before saying, “...Um...Miss? I'm afraid you mistook me for someone else.. My name is not Gerald!”.
