Chapter 793

"Luxury car?" mila said as she quickly turned to look as well.

Mila could feel her heartbeat speeding up as she watched the sports car quickly enter the harbor.

'Did Gerald finally come?'

As the car stopped squeaking, Mila found herself walking slowly forward.

A young man came out with a fresh flower in his hand. Seeing how romantic he is, almost everyone who attended— especially the girls—began to feel envious.

"Sorry I'm late, Hallie!" said the young man while taking off his glasses with a smile.

“You're not late at all, baby! I'm glad to know that you rushed here just to drive me away!” hallie replied as she jumped towards the young man somewhat excitedly.

However, when she passed Mila, she made sure that Mila saw her grinning at her before saying, “Why have you walked this far? Do you really think that it's going to be your rich girlfriend? Very bad! This one's mine!”

Hallie felt very satisfied after saying that. After all, she was initially afraid that Mila would be in the spotlight today because her boyfriend was so strong.

Fortunately, he hasn't shown up. This means that his other assumptions are correct. After all, why would a rich heir like Mr. Crawford wants to be with a girl like Mila?

'In the end, he doesn't even care about you. Did you really think that he would come all the way just to meet you? Dream on!'

While Hallie is aware that she has already lost to him in terms of work, she is happy to learn that she can still win against Mila in terms of her love life.

"The rich boyfriend?" the young man asked, holding Hallie's hand.

"Indeed! Someone here has a very rich girlfriend! Even though he had claimed that he would erase his busy schedule just to come and see him, in the end, it was all just nonsense! Where is he now?" hallie shouted out loudly.

Hearing her words, Mila became so anxious that she felt like crying right then and there!

To be honest, her mounting anxiety had nothing to do with what Hallie said. Instead, it stemmed from the fact that Gerald did not answer his call that morning. He even forgot about his promise with her last night!

“Alright, hand over your phone! All personnel must verify your identity before you are allowed on board!” said one of the investigation team staff loudly at the time.

With that, Mila and the others slowly started boarding the ship. Even after everyone had boarded, Mila honestly still wished for a miracle to happen.

'The gerald will definitely appear at the last moment... After all, he promised me that he would come, and he never lied to me.'

However, as she watched the harbor slowly fade in the distance, Mila could not help but cry.

As the ship continued to sail, the creaking of car tires rang out in the now almost deserted port.

Some people who stayed in the harbor found themselves staring at a rich young heiress and an old man as they got out of a car that looked very expensive.

The ship was not seen anywhere.

Gerald could only slam his fists into the hood of the car, realizing that he was too late.

When she tried to call Mila on the way there, she discovered that she had switched off her phone. If only he had been a little earlier, he would have still been able to meet her.

However, the main problem was not about failing to meet him. It failed to keep its promise.

He remembered seeing Alice lying on top of him as he opened his eyes. That was all he needed to see to realize that he had been tricked into his current situation the night before.

After scolding Alice loudly, she immediately rushed out of the hotel.

Fynn and his men have been waiting for him all night at the harbor, and knowing this only adds to Gerald's guilt.

If he had not pityed Alice, none of this would have happened…

In his mind, Gerald could imagine how excited and disappointed Mila felt while waiting for him. The more he thought about it, the more his sadness piled up.
