“Halo, Mr Crawford. I'm Xavion!”
Xavion is Chairman Gordon. Gerald met him at a fancy marketing party for Mountain Top Villa in Howard County the other day. They had exchanged numbers during their brief interaction there.
“Happy to hear from you again, Chairman Gordon. Can I help you?”
Gerald smiled and said.
“Yes, there is something I want to discuss. We had a banquet, and we had invited wealthy businessmen from various places to attend the event. Initially, we did not dare to invite you as we were just businessmen, and it would probably be more troublesome for you to attend our banquet. But the response we received was astounding. Rich businessmen and prominent members of the Mayberry community have agreed to come. The presidents said they were your subordinates. So, I called to ask if you are free to attend our simple little party.”
Xavion.
Doing actual business and making money is just a side quest when one reaches the Xavion level in the business world. For people like him, the connection is the same with business.
It is much wiser to nurture and develop connections than to develop a project.
That is why wealthy businessmen love to hold events where they can blend together.
That's because they might get acquainted with the president of another company. There, they will then make new connections, and new connections mean new opportunities.
Gerald is no exception to have a habit of attending events regularly.
Gerald finds it hard to resist Xavion's hospitality.
But now, he really had no time to remember the current state he was in.
He reluctantly refused the invitation given by Mr. Xavion.
He hung up the phone afterwards.
It seems Xyla was actively eavesdropping on the conversation Gerald had over the phone.
“Hmph! Who's gonna buy you a meal this time? Which one's Chairman Gordon? Could it have been Chairman Gordon since then? ”
Ask Xyla curious.
After all, Xyla hates the idea of Gerald being close to Chairman Gordon.
“It was nobody!”
Gerald smiled bitterly. “I just saw a malfunction in the back of your car. Xyla, isn't it too much to ask for seventy-five thousand dollars?”
Gerald's rich, but he's not stupid.
“Isn't that too much? Damnit damnit! People from the garage will come and assess the damage soon! You'll see it later. It might cost even more than my estimated amount! You're just making up excuses because you can't even pay for what I ask for! ”
said Xila.
Just yesterday, he was worried Gerald would get the gold after getting acquainted with Chairman Gordon during the party.
That explains why he was in a bad mood today.
But Xyla's worries fade when she sees Gerald coming up with his silly little electric tricycle. To think that he was so broke that he even needed to bid over seventy-five thousand!
Shortly after, a vehicle damage assessment team from the repair shop came to check for damage to Xyla's car.
After checking around the car, they whispered to each other. Then, they took their tools and stood up.
"How's that? How much do we need for repairs? I'm sure it's at least seventy-five thousand. ”
Xyla said while crossing her arms.
"Yes. If we are going to repair all the damage, our estimate is that everything will probably cost about seventy thousand dollars.”
One of the judges answered.
“D *mn! Seventy thousand dollars?”
"That's too cruel!"
The crowd screamed in shock.
Xyla herself was very surprised, as she stuck her tongue out at Gerald. He asked for forty-five thousand dollars based entirely on his own experience. To think that the cost was almost double that amount!
She's still that young girl. The influence and power he has comes entirely from the hard work of his girlfriend. He himself did not have much experience with luxury cars.
Originally, he had even thought it would cost him only around thirty thousand dollars.
He then smiled in satisfaction and said, “Haha! Gerald, did you hear that? The cost of car repairs is about seventy thousand dollars. Moreover, there is still compensation for my emotional distress because you have wasted my time. Just do the calculations yourself and see. Let me tell you. It will definitely not be resolved even with seventy-five thousand dollars!”
'I just asked for seventy-five thousand dollars. Now, it definitely won't work out with just seventy-five thousand dollars.'
'I don't want to make you look too bad, but you're the one who rejected my kindness. Hmph! Go and cry in the corner then!'
Gerald could only shrug his shoulders without a word of resignation.
"It's okay. Thank you for your hard work. Write me a quote for car repair costs. You can go after that. Here, tip too!”
As Xyla said that, she took out a few ten-dollar sheets from her wallet and pushed them towards the vehicle damage appraiser.
But they shook their heads, refusing to take the money.
“Mistress, please listen to me first. Just put the money aside for car repair costs. What we want to say is this car is not ours.”
