As the dust flew right into Gerald's face, Meredith and Giya walked towards him—after the dust had subsided—before peeking into the box as well.
Inside, lay a long sword covered in dust. Regardless of the layer of dust on it, it was not enough to hide the sword's brilliant glint. In fact it was so sparkling, that the three of them felt that even people who saw it from afar would feel a tremor on their backs as soon as they saw the sparkle of the sword.
“...Although it may be thousands of years old, the sword still looks quite sharp!” meredith said as she tried to grab the sword while smiling.
Giya herself—who does not look interested in the sword—just go back to see the mural.
“B-weight..!” erang Meredith continued to try to raise the sword. It almost felt as if the sword was stuck at the base of the stone box.
"Let me try!" gerald said as he reached out to grab the sword hilt. Applying a bit of strength, Gerald was able to lift the sword easily.
"It's really not that heavy!" gerald added with a small laugh while shaking his wrist slightly to remove the dust from the sword. Although it did not look special, as Meredith had said before, the sword looked extremely sharp.
Upon closer inspection, the word 'Lightbane' was engraved on it, and Gerald could not help feeling that the sword was rather special despite its ordinary appearance.
“Could it... Lightbane be a magical artifact as well.?” gerald murmured to himself in surprise.
Meanwhile his assumption was, he was unable to find any real spiritual imprint on the weapon. Regardless, he was still very happy with his discovery.
The fact that he had learned the three styles of the long sword— from Dawnbreaker— made the discovery even better. Coincidentally or not, he now had the perfect new weapon to accommodate his skills.
“...Hey, you two.. Let's see this! Something is wrong with this mural!” calling out to Giya suddenly.
“No, you don't understand! After looking a little closer at the end of the mural, I don't think any of this is just fantasy anymore! Just come and see! ” Giya said as she pointed to the second part of the mural.
“If you just imagine that this big building—that was painted by the ancients—is a warship that can fly, then everything starts to make sense! Towards the end of the mural, it is seen that on the night before the funeral of the heavenly soldiers, this great battleship appeared and took three hundred young men and women away! See the king and the others bowing there? Don't they look like they're watching them leave? And then in the next panel, the battleship suddenly disappeared!”
“Note, however, when everyone knelt down, the mural made sure to accentuate the face of the old beggar! Among all the painted ones, only the beggar raised his face high while depicting an ugly grin. The ancients even made sure to make him look like he was trying to hide his evil smile! Doesn't everything make more sense now by looking at it like this?” giya.
"Ha ha ha! You must have an active imagination, Giya! No wonder Professor Yale accepted you as his student! Giya, what was the mural painted like? Tens of thousands of years ago? Whenever it is, the time period should be ancient! With that in mind, how could your theory possibly make sense? A warship? Girl, if the ancients really drew all this exactly as you imagined it, then I must say, their imagination is really something else! answer Meredith.
“I know it sounds crazy but this mural gives me a very strange feeling!” said Giya.
“You're not alone in there!” gerald replied while staring at the mural as well.
Hearing that, Giya turned to look at Gerald before smiling.
Uncomfortable with the way Gerald and Giya looked at each other, Meredith immediately stood between them before asking, "By the way, Giya, where is the corpse of the young lady in white clothes moved to?"
“It... Not mentioned in the mural, unfortunately. The mural just says that the two are separate! After all, do you think all of this is just a fantasy that the ancients had, Xadrian?” giya asked while looking at Gerald.
Before Gerald could reply, Meredith interrupted him by saying, “You know, why don't we talk about this after we leave this place? It's kind of hard to breathe here, don't you think, Xadrian? Why don't you get us out of here first?”
"Agreed!" gerald replied with a nod.
