The moment the woman saw him, she immediately cried as she shouted, “Gerald! I'm so glad to see you again!”
“Why are you still here, Giya? And again, I say that my name is not Gerald! It's Xadrian!” gerald replied, honestly feeling relieved that he was fine. Still, it was rather unexpected that he chose to remain here.
“You're still trying to lie to me? Surrender, I already know you're Gerald! You may have managed to change your body figure and temperament, but you will never be able to change your eyes! You are Gerald and that's it!” giya replied as she put down the plate she was holding before running over to Gerald.
Gerald himself took a quick glance at the plate before taking his eyes off Giya as he said, “Why did you choose to be a waiter here rather than remain with the research team? I'm pretty sure being with them is a much better job than this.”.
“I don't care about that anymore. Waiting for your return is more important. Even if it takes days or even years, I will continue to wait for you here! I'm just wondering why you lied to me! It is impossible for two random people to look very similar, and you know that! You may keep trying to deceive me, but I know those eyes! So tell me, why are you lying to me.?” exclaimed Giya who is now starting to attract the attention of some hotel customers.
Gerald himself felt deeply moved by everything he said.
'So you plan to wait for me here for the rest of your life, huh... Giya... Giya, can't you see that I really can't stand hurting you anymore...? Why don't you just understand?!' Gerald thought to himself.
“...Giya, you really mistakenly thought of me as someone else.. Listen, since you're so eager to meet that Gerald, give me a year. I promised I'd find it for you by then... Also, even if I wasn't actually Gerald, you were waiting for me all this time, right? Now that we have met, I am sure you are finally satisfied. With that thought, you should really go back to your work, Giya.”.
After saying that, Gerald turned to leave, clearly not interested in entering the hotel.
However, it only took a few steps before he heard a soft 'beep' behind him. Turning around, Gerald sees Giya limp and falls to the floor!
Seeing that, he immediately ran back to his side while shouting, “Giya!”
“T-there.. Try saying you're not Gerald anymore. Even your voice has changed... I'm sure it's the same voice that used to call me!” giya said while trying her best to hold on to Gerald's arm.
“I... I won't let you leave me again, even if I have to keep following you like this for the rest of my life! I am willing to do it!” add the girl while holding on tightly to her.
With that said, Gerald quickly turned around and left.
“G-Gerald!” giya shouted as she immediately stood up again to chase after him.
While Gerald was fast, Giya was still trying her best to run in the direction she last saw. He ran, and ran, until finally, he arrived at the border of the small town. Only a sandy path could be seen from that point onwards, yet he continued running, knowing that he would eventually reach the highway.
Other than the rows of pine and fir trees, Giya had never hit anyone until now. He did not even know how long he had trudged along that path. Apart from her paleest face and chapped lips, she still continued to head towards the direction Gerald had left behind.
“I... I won't let you escape again.. Why.... Why are you hiding from me like this…? Why…?" giya murmured to herself as the number of blisters on her palm continued to increase, causing her white shoes to slowly turn red, her fresh blood staining it.
He felt very dizzy, and this had happened ever since he returned from the desert. With that in mind, it is evident that he fell to the ground early not just for show.
Sensing his last strength leaving his body, he finally knelt down on the road, exhausted controlling himself. His eyes were filled with tears, yet he only gnashed his teeth before crawling back up.
Darkness immediately began to creep in as the day slowly turned into night. After walking all day, Giya could no longer feel her legs. Finally, he finally arrived at the highway and located there, was a tea shop.
Seeing him, the boss smiled before asking, “Hey, young lady! You have a terrible expression on your face! Would you like a cup of tea?"
“B-How much for a cup..?”
“Quite cheap, honestly! Just two dollars!” answer boss.
Sensing her pocket, Giya realizes that rushing after Gerald earlier, she did not bring a single cent with her…
