It was honestly beyond the expectations of Diego and the other bosses that those from the Royal Dragon Group would not back out of the competition. To be honest, Gerald and his men seemed rather confident about everything.
Sensing that, Diego and the bosses know that if they don't show how strong they are right away, it will only get harder for them to keep Gerald's company under control in the future.
Soon after, civil and military meetings began and the participants were taken to a large area that had been established inside the center.
The five groups each naturally chose their most powerful subordinates to take part in the competition. Gerald himself had sent Whistler and some of his more capable men to participate.
Those Gerald had chosen had all undergone special personal training with him. Therefore, their strength was much stronger than before.
As soon as the competition began, everyone was shocked to see Gerald's men directly attacking. With a quick and precise strike, Whistler's men beat the other group so hard that they never had a chance to fight even before falling.
"…What?"
Diego and the other bosses could feel their eyelids twitching as they looked at the defeated people lying on the ground.
Before the competition began, the bosses had convinced themselves that the subordinates Gerald had with him were just putting up a front line, pretending to be Special Forces. After all, the way they presented themselves was somewhat similar to what previous pharmaceutical factory bosses did.
Because the previous boss and Gerald had been on the air before the actual competition, Diego and the other bosses simply assumed that Gerald's men would be as weak as the old boss's participants.
Little did they know that no front had ever been installed. Gerald's army is really strong.
“So it looks like Mr. Crawford likes not to stand out. To think that he will have such a powerful subordinate. it doesn't even sound too far-fetched right now.” Diego said as he forced a smile.
With the territory divided among six people now, instead of five, things would definitely be much different compared to how civilian and military gatherings usually took place. As if things didn't look bleak enough for the five bosses, it seemed Gerald's subordinates would actually be crowned champions by the end of the night.
While Gerald didn't say anything during the civil and military meetings, Diego and the other bosses were getting more agitated each time the battle began.
This was mainly because Whistler himself did not make a single move during the battle. The other four Gerald subordinates were more than enough to take down their opponents.
“I and my men appreciate how low you treat us, Chairman Jey. Thank you very much,” Whistler said as he walked, breaking the silence.
In response, Diego could only smile awkwardly as he said, "Sama-sama... Still, you and your people are very strong... My own people can't even show off that much tonight..."
“I'll have to correct you there, Chairman Jay. After all, the most powerful person here is not one of us, but rather our master. We learned everything we knew from him, ” Whistler replied as he looked at Gerald before shaking his head with a bitter smile on his face.
"Oh? You're saying that Chairman Crawford here is much stronger than you all? Then it looks like we really made a very wrong judgment tonight!”
Despite the smile on Diego's face as he said that, inside, he was getting more and more confused.
After all, Gerald's men had completely defeated the five most influential groups in Talgo City in front of everyone. Not only did they fail to obtain the Royal Dragon Group tonight, most of the territory would now fall under Gerald's hands instead!
“Omong-by the way, Chairman Jey... I wonder if what you said earlier is true... The part where the winner will divide the region..?” ask Whistler.
Coughing before clearing his throat, Diego then replied with a smile, “...But of course it's true! With the results of the competition now out, we will discuss how we will divide the territory after the party is over!”
Diego did not even dare to say much despite his apparent dissatisfaction. After all, he could not simply break his promise.
“In the meantime, you're there! Remove placards bearing the names of the five influential groups involved in the Civil and Military Groups. From today onwards, six names will be in it!” diego orders while pointing at one of his subordinates.
While the other four bosses barely said a word, they all had their own thoughts about the situation.
Although some of them hated the Royal Dragon Group for interfering with their affairs even though they were outsiders, others seemed to enjoy the misfortune of the unhappy bosses more.
The ones enjoying the current situation are the weaker group who hope that with Gerald—'s involvement that will definitely ruin the original balance of— they will be able to manipulate how things ended once the chaos finally occurred.
As some of the subordinates returned with stairs to remove the plaque, a voice shouted, "No need to go through so much trouble!"
