"Ask him if the equipment I gave him back then is still in one piece?" Nathan urges Jessica while pointing the phone at Jessica's ear with his chin.
At that time they were stopping and resting to enjoy a drink in a cafe when Mr. Robert called Jessica. The waiter was delivering drinks when Jessica heard a ring on her phone.
"Dad, Nathan wanted to know if he had destroyed all the equipment he had given him at the time" Jessica told her father as Nathan carefully sipped a drink in front of her.
"Tell Nathan that if he wants his equipment to remain intact, then he should come here and do this work himself" Robert replied, his voice sounding cynical.
Jessica smiled when she heard him and it made Nathan furrow his brows in wonder. Jessica then shook her head at Nathan in response to his question earlier.
"I'll assume it's not." Nathan replied in a resigned tone.
"Of course not," replied Robert casually from across the phone and Jessica smiled wryly.
"Ah, you told your father that all the equipment was very expensive. Looks like I'll start charging him for damages if he keeps doing that, like ruining things." Nathan says again, trying to warn Robert through Jessica.
The young woman rolled her eyes. Not yet had he said anything, his father spoke again from across the phone.
"And you tell Nathan that it looks like he still has a gun that could probably penetrate a human body like it would without even a father touching it" replied Robert, apparently he could hear Nathan's words from a distance.
"OK, okay now, how about we just end this fight." Jessica tried to calm her father down, she grinned as she took another sip of the drink in her hand, it was hot chocolate. "Can I ask you when you're going home?"
"In a moment," Robert said to him. "dad will do his best to make sure everything goes according to plan."
"Alright dad." Jessica replied.
But the next second, Jessica unintentionally heard a woman's soft voice from across the phone. The surprised Jessica straightened up her sitting position. The drink cup that was in front of him was even involuntarily nudged and crackling at the table.
"Wait a minute, dad..What was that voice?" Jessica wondered filled with curious tones. "I heard someone's voice. Whose voice is that?"
"Nothing," Robert replied.
Robert was clearly lying, but the lie only lasted a few seconds because Jessica could hear back the same voice.
"No."
"Ck, liar."
Robert's voice was hissing on the phone. "Listen, Jessie, it looks like I have to leave this time. I'll try my best to get home and see you soon, okay? In the meantime, tell Nathan not to give you too many holidays together. Things can't be said to be safe now."
"Don't try to change the subject, Dad!" Jessica warned her father. "I'm sure there's a girl there along with-"
"Safe!" cut off Robert, obviously he didn't want to receive a lecture from his daughter. "Dad has to hang up, dad loves you, Jess."
Jessica sighed, knowing clearly that she lost the debate this time. A faint smile appeared on his face as he lowered his gaze to look down. "I love you too, father."
Robert hung up and Jessica put her phone back in her bag. He lifted his head to look at Nathan as an awkward red hue appeared on his face.
"Yes, it looks like she was with a woman when she called me just now" Jessica complained to Nathan. "To be honest, all this time I kept telling her to relax in terms of women."
"Mrs. Robert wasn't the type of guy to settle for one, either" Nathan quickly told him.
Jessica looked at the young man with a puzzled look, she wondered about what Nathan was talking about right now. Nathan smiled, Jessica's face seemed to tell Nathan that she he did not know about the rumors that had been surrounding his father. Of course, why should he know? Jessica isn't even a member of the organization, that's why she won't know about these rumors.
To be honest, it is common knowledge in the organization that Robert is a woman lover. But how did Nathan tell Jessica about his father. Or should he tell her?
"Hey, Nathan! I'm talking to you!"
"Yes?" Nathan's surprised.
"What did that say to you?" jessica asked Nathan.
Nathan shook his head, "Nothing."
"Tell me," Jessica then looked at him with narrowed eyes. "What do you know about my father but I don't?"
