Too young.
That was the first thing that came to Robert's mind right now regarding the young man who was in front of him right now. Is he really the person he's going to meet? Seems not. But whatever it is, Robert still has to make sure, right? Well, anyway Robert did have to find out if he was the person he was going to meet or not.
"Jessie," said Robert then abruptly, making the girl turn her head. His voice sounded firm at the same moment he turned his head, staring at the girl with his brown eyes.
"Yes?"
"Go and see if there is a place that sells coffee here. Looks like we're gonna need him for the rest of this trip." Robert asked the girl.
"Is dad thirsty?"
"Dad wasn't thirsty, but I wanted to have coffee" Robert smiled.
The girl immediately nodded and pulled the strap of her bag tighter to her shoulder. Jessica then turned her head to the right and left of the room, looking for a way out to find the coffee her father asked for.
When she arrived outside the building, Jessica then asked the gallery officer until she finally arrived at a small building that turned out to provide food and drinks are sold to the gallery visitors. Jessica entered the building, buying a cup of coffee and a bottle of mineral water.
Jessica grumbled inwardly as she realized how much she had to pay for the two drinks.
"Why are they selling goods at twice the price here." he said softly.
'They forbid visitors to bring drinks from outside the building, but they instead sell menus at exorbitant prices. Geez, this further strengthens my heart not to come to a place like this again.' his tirade in heart
He then took out a wallet from inside his bag and handed the payment to the shopkeeper. Jessica then put mineral water in her bag and held her father's coffee cup in her right hand. After that, Jessica returned to the building, looking for her father.
When he arrived at the building, he wondered where his father had gone. After searching, Jessica found her father sitting on a bench with the young man they were talking to. They both looked like they were talking about something important.
"This," Jessica said, handed over the coffee glass she brought to her father, "Are we going to continue the tour of the painting?"
"We have to continue, we've paid a lot for the ticket." Robert agreed.
"Jessica Anderson, isn't she?" the young man suddenly spoke.
Robert quickly got up to stop Jessica from answering and revealing who she was. Robert did not want Jessica and the young man to communicate more than he wanted. Obviously Robert didn't want his daughter to know who he was or who he worked for.
"Jessica Bailey, to be precise." exclaimed Robert using the name of his ex-wife.
"It's Nathan. He works at the Ministry of Transport. Dad was surprised because he just said that he also worked in the government." said Robert.
Nathan raised his eyebrows, Why did he have to hide his son's identity from me?
"Is that so? She knows my name" Jessica said, chuckling.
"Maybe he must have seen your face before" Robert said with origin.
"Nathan Jones" she told Jessica with a smile on her face.
"Oh, hi, I'm Jessica." said Jessica with a small smile back. "It's nice to meet you, Nathan."
"And you too" Nathan replied to him.
"You know my father's last name?"
"Yes?" Nathan raised his eyebrows in confusion.
"You called me Jessica Anderson. Yeah, I honestly didn't use the same last name as my dad." Jessica smiled and let go of Nathan's hand.
Ah, so it seems. Nathan glanced at Robert at a glance.
Nathan then scratched his non-itchy nape. "Ah, that. That's because everyone knows who your father is. Yeah, he's Robert Anderson. He's so famous in the ministry. And I just accidentally called you by your father's name."
"Is that so?" Jessica nodded in understanding. "But you look very young to work in the ministry's office." Jessica said frankly.
"It's probably because I have such great skills that they don't want to waste my incredible talent" Nathan replied, prompting Robert to snort.
Jessica smiled at Nathan's words and looked at his father. His brows furrowed as the father nodded his head at him.
"Please go first, Jessica. Looks like you need time to talk to Mr. Jones was a minute." Robert told Jessica.
Jessica nodded her head obediently and walked back down the gallery hall.
"Mrs. Jones?" asked the young man while raising his eyebrows, he sounded less fond of the call. Nathan was silent for a moment and then grieved. "I think I'd rather be called Nathan."
"And why would Nathan?" Robert wondered back to her.
Nathan's head shook his head slowly as his eyes looked at Robert's moving daughter staring at the rows of paintings in the room. The girl clearly still looked confused by the message each of the paintings were trying to convey there.
"There's no particular reason, I just love it. Yes, to me that sounds better than Jones," he replied, turning his eyes back to Robert. "I've told you all the 'boss' tasks you have to do. I gotta go. You have fun in this place and focus on finding answers as well as the meaning of the paintings."
Robert scolds cynically. This amateur child must be insinuating how low knowledge about art he has.
"And you also have fun while wearing your nightgown and playing computer games in your room." Robert quipped.
Nathan frowned as Robert stepped out leaving her alone in that place to go after her daughter. He did not say anything for a few seconds before he finally muttered to himself.
"Ck, don't you dare mock me! Even though I can't shoot like you, I can destroy your whole life and do it just by lying down and wearing my nightgown."
