Nathan was sitting in the passenger seat of Robert's car, sitting right next to the middle-aged man. They got a car loan from the organization shortly after arriving in Indonesia. The car is now seen driving out of the airport area.
Jessica was in the back seat with her father's handy jacket to cover her summer dress that looked a bit broken. To be honest, Jessica had no other clothes to change and Robert did not have much time leaving her to buy some clothes.
While Nathan, although the young man had offered to help buy new clothes, but the time was not enough to find new clothes because they had to catch the plane delay.
Nathan, who had been staring at the laptop screen in his hand, turned to Robert next to him.
"Unfortunately, they lost Dimitri in the middle of the night. He managed to escape, again!" nathan said to Robert while they were still on their way. Nathan keeps his tone low, then turns around to make sure he doesn't wake Jessica up from her sleep. Nathan looked down, looking at the girl's feet. And that's when Nathan could see the white bandage stuck to the girl's leg.
"How could they lose him?" Robert replied, while his eyes were still focused on the street before him, "How could such a ridiculous thing happen?"
"He's just as smart as them. He was once a member of us, if you forget. It made him know what game we were going to play. Even if he wants to be invisible then he can do that easily" Nathan told Robert.
"Ck, one of the reasons he survived is because he has some technology that can help him. He stole some of our important tools."
Nathan nodded, "yes, that's his biggest help. I can say, technology is much smarter than weapons."
"But in the end it will definitely be the weapon that killed Dimitri" Robert said cynically.
"So is that the way you chose to kill him?" Nathan confirmed his guess to Robert.
"It's a technology belonging to our organization. It's not Dimitri's. Only we can end it. And you're gonna find out where the trail of all the tools Dimitri's using is."
Nathan looked at Robert. "You know clearly that you can only kill him if he makes a mistake or tries to fight back during an ambush, right? And if you catch him then it's clear that you can't kill him."
"Then I won't catch him" Robert replied as Jessica suddenly groaned in her sleep. Robert was silent for a while before continuing his sentence. "I don't need to catch him so I can finish him."
Nathan turned to look at Robert for a moment, before then he turned to look at Jessica. And as he watched the girl, Nathan realized that the jacket Jessica was wearing had fallen off her lap.
Nathan then moves to pull back the jacket and puts it back on Jessica, closing it to the chin of the girl.
"You can do as you please" Nathan turned around. He then sighed and fixed his sitting position on the chair. Nathan slowly felt his body now begin to numb after sitting for so long on the plane plus in the car at this time.
Nathan remained silent in his position as Robert looked at him and looked at Nathan with both astonished and suspicious looks. Nathan himself said nothing after that. He decided to remain silent because he felt that Robert was watching him at this time.
"You mean?" Nathan glanced at Robert.
"You're showing your 'raven' adult side, is that how I should call it?" Robert looked at Nathan rather cynically. Is that a satire?
Nathan let out a breath and shook his head slowly. "The point of the phrase 'do as you please' is. You have the right to do whatever you want. I have no right to forbid anything." Nathan tried to explain his words.
Robert was silent, not intending to respond to the young man's explanation. Feeling no response from Robert, Nathan scratched his head while smiling awkwardly.
"But I just thought that Jessica might not agree if you had to kill Dimitri. Especially when the man could suffer even more if he was behind bars. I mean, I don't think Jessica would be comfortable knowing that you killed people."
"This is my job" replied Robert firmly, he was even impressed to not care. "Jessica would understand that. Anyway, since when do you know what my daughter's thinking?"
"No," Nathan shook his head and told Robert. "I'm just saying it as a small suggestion, Mr. Robert. I didn't mean anything to you. And I didn't ask you to do what I said either"
Robert said nothing after that. He now prefers to change the subject.
"I felt that I could no longer leave Jessica in my private apartment. And I can't leave it in my flat either, it'll be dangerous." Robert told Nathan. "But I have nowhere for him to hide anymore. And after this I have to go to see our new boss. I just don't feel comfortable taking Jessica with me if Dimitri's still watching."
"Then where do you intend to leave him after this? In my apartment?" Nathan asked in a joking tone along with a small laugh. But his brows furrowed as he looked at Robert who was currently also staring at him. He could clearly see the sinister look on the old man's face.
"Good idea, Nathan," said Robert with a grin on his face. "I think it's one of the safest places for Jessica, to be honest. Dimitri doesn't know where you live. And she also won't suspect that Jessica will be staying with you. Dimitri definitely wouldn't think that I would leave Jessica alone right now."
"Yes, I guess," Nathan said in a lazy tone.
"You don't like it?" ask Robert without a stale ado.
Nathan shook his head quickly, his eyes staring in horror at the old man. "Ah, no. My point is, I can't possibly mind if you take her to where I live, while you go to meet our new boss. I. I can work from home." she said in fear.
"Good then," Robert murmured as he fixed his sitting position. Then he chose to refocus his attention on the steering wheel for the rest of the trip.
