My Dad Turns Out to be Eyes

My Dad Turns Out to be Eyes
Part 7's

Confusion took hold of Jessica's face and she immediately shook her head. He snapped his food and wiped his mouth with a handkerchief then he put it near his plate. He looked very confused for a while after that and then he spoke again.

"I thought I'd stay with you for a week" she said. "I even booked a plane ticket to go to Bali with my friend next week. And my mother also went on vacation to Surabaya with John. And you want to take me home to Singapore?"

"That problem"

"Ck, you can't think of sending me to Surabaya as well for a vacation with Mom and John right? Sure enough, I've already planned my holiday agenda." Jessica grumbled.

Shaking his head, Robert let out a slow breath. She could not believe that Jessica had set her own vacation plans. How could she tell Jessica that the week her daughter had planned had to be changed?

Robert looked at his daughter with a look of regret for a moment.

"Dad is going to Japan tomorrow morning" Robert said frankly, telling his daughter.

Hearing the sentence that came out from her father's mouth, Jessica's mouth involuntarily gaped.

"What?"

"I'm sorry, Jess! Dad was-"

"But you can't just undo my plan" Jessica grumbled as she put the spoon in her hand on the table. "I told you I decided to stay here for a week."

"Dad has a new home now. You can stay there. It's perfectly safe for you, Jessica." Robert continued without heeding Jessica's previous words.

"I mean I live there? By himself? Ck, since when did that come into our plan?" Jessica said with a quip.

"You stay in your father's house for as long as you go to Japan. After that, we'll run your vacation plans."

"But that means my vacation plans have to be cut off for a few days during my father's departure!"

Jessica then took a slow breath. He tried his best not to sound too angry or seem too disappointed by what he had just heard from his father.

"After father comes home, until your holiday period here is over, I will work on your vacation will feel amazing" said Robert trying to please his son.

"I'm only here for a week and you can't even make time for me? Ck, ck, ck, how cruel." said Jessica cynically.

"Dad forgot that you're gonna stay here for a week, Jessie!" bright Robert.

Jessica again sighed slowly after hearing the reality that was about to happen to her. This is not surprising to him. His father was always like this, but somehow he still felt surprised and disappointed. What else did he expect from his father?

He realized, being the son of a Robert Anderson like this would often bring disappointment for him. However, this was clearly his fault, because even though he knew that the end would be like this why he still wished more on this father from the beginning?

"Dad totally forgot, Jessie!" robert is sorry.

"Yes, there are many things that escape your mind, there are always many things that you forget." replied Jessica cynically, ".ah, besides your work, of course."

"Jessica" said Robert. His voice was flat and sounded full of warning tones. Robert shook his head and looked straight into the eyes of the girl.

"Sorry, okay!" jessica raised both her hands. "I know that your job will also stress you out. I'm sorry!"

Robert then sighed softly, knowing he was guilty of this too. "Dad's sorry to have to leave you alone" she said sincerely.

Jessica looked at her father and then smiled. "No. I feel disappointed, but I'm okay. Dad used to do this, so I'm kind of used to it." said Jessica.

The girl then advanced her body to get closer to the dining table then continued her sentence. "But, do you think mom would be okay if I stayed here alone? Will he not refuse? I mean, won't he get mad"

"Why not?" Robert asked in a confused tone. "Didn't he even let you live alone near your college? After all, wouldn't you be alone if you went to Bali later."

"Your mother loves you. It's only natural that he forbid you to do some things."

Jessica grieves. "Yes, but on some occasions he often does things unnecessarily. Like forbidding me from going with my friends."

"Yes, that's why you don't do everything recklessly. It must be with explanation and reason that makes sense that you can do anything" Robert told him.

"Listen, I'll leave you an emergency number you can call if anything happens. In addition, I will also make sure to always call you if there is a chance when you go to Japan later."

"What does it mean to 'happen', I'm not the kind of trouble-making kid." Jessica put her lips together.

"Dad just wanted to make sure nothing would happen to you later. You can keep my trust from making trouble, right?"

"No, I'm not gonna cause any trouble. So I'm calm." muttered Jessica in a lazy tone and looked back at the father. He scoops his food again. "Just can you please don't tell mom about this."

"About what?"

"About the departure of father. About me being alone here. Can't you?" pinta Jessica pleaded.

"You want me to lie to your mother?" Robert made sure, it sounds he's not too comfortable with Jessica's idea.

"No, not lying. But I just don't have to say anything to mom if she doesn't ask." Jessica asked.

"That's the same thing. You asked me not to call your mother, didn't you?"

Jessica nodded her head, confirming the father's question.

"Yes" Jessica replied. "Don't say anything to her. After all, he'll call me first. But I will succeed in lying to him easily. It wasn't really that hard for me to lie to you. The problem is with you, if you tell him, then it's over!"

"So, Jessica! Have you ever lied to your mother before?" Robert asked, looking at his daughter in surprise.

Jessica scooped up her food and put it in her mouth. A sneer was seen on Jessica's face as she looked up, looking towards her father.

"No," he said later with a serious face made up.

"Well, that's obviously a lie."

"I'm not lying, dad."

"That's even clearly visible on your face, Jessie." Robert told Jessica then he shook his head, leaning his back against the backrest on the chair.

"You are an expert liar." - Robert.

"Yes okay. I lied to my mother once. But only about trivial things. There are no big lies. So take it easy, dad." Jessica told the father. "Everyone will lie."

Robert's face changed immediately. She felt that her daughter's words were right. Everyone lies, including themselves.

"Father calm down, Jessie" Robert reassured her of the girl. "When did you ever become the parent who forbade you this and that?"

Jessica almost choked on her food as Robert said those words and she didn't know what else to say to her father.

His father's words were right. His father never once forbade him to do anything even his father always supported him. In addition, his father also always protects him from the scolding of the mother.
