My Dad Turns Out to be Eyes

"Oh dad, I told you I could walk by myself" Jessica said. "My legs are hurt, but I can still walk."

"Dad would rather carry you, Jessica" Robert reassured his daughter as she stood by the back door of the car.

Meanwhile, Nathan had already rushed off with the keys to the house in his hand. The young man came in and did the best he could to make sure the room in his residence was clean.

Robert constantly looked around Nathan's house as he saw Jessica extend her hand. And that was when Robert gently pulled her into his arms.

"I wish that I could have done this to you long ago, when you were a child, Jess" Robert whispered to his daughter.

Jessica looked at her father's face in the sidelines. He could clearly see his father who was currently smiling miserably as he carried him inside the building.

"Mom once said that it's better if I don't know who my father is." Jessica told Robert.

"really?"

Jessica nodded, "I never believed her, nor about the bad things she said about you. I even defied him until he gave up."

"It's good, I'm sure that you got your chatty attitude from her" Robert grinned, and Jessica replied with a bland smile.

Robert noticed how the girl's face looked sad when they talked about her mother. Robert smiled slightly. She looked at Jessica with a reassuring look.

"Your mother will definitely talk to you again" Robert said. "You know, that going without telling her what really happened to you is the right thing to do. She obviously can't be a part of this, Jess."

"Yes, I thought the same thing" Jessica replied confirming her father's remark. "He tried to contact me ten times during the trip. Ah, I'm sure you must think I'm mad at him."

"But aren't you really angry?" Robert wondered.

"Understandable," Robert said as he began to climb the stairs.

Arriving at the door of Nathan's apartment, Robert did not enter immediately. He looked at the door of the apartment just as Nathan unlocked the door and pushed it open. The young man stood inside the room, looking around for a while before then he gestured for Jessica and Robert to enter.

When they arrived at Nathan's house, Jessica looked around the room. He was not surprised when he realized that the room was impeccably clean.

"Consider your own home" Nathan exclaimed at them as he entered his own room.

Jessica sat herself on the leather sofa in the middle of the room. While looking at the big television on the wall, he turned his eyes towards the kitchen. After that Jessica again circulated her eyes to the entire area of the house. For Jessica, the house Nathan lives in does not look like a house in general. There are too many computer screens there. That's what makes Jessica can't see the touch of 'home' in that place.

Nathan walks out of his bedroom with his laptop under his arm. He then placed the object on a table in the kitchen, opened the lid and turned it on, while Robert leaned over to talk to Jessica.

"Dad has to leave for a while and dad will be back soon" Robert told him. "You need to stay here, stay with Nathan and don't go anywhere. Do you understand?"

"Yes," said Jessica, "I understand, dad. I'm not going anywhere, I don't have to worry."

Robert smiled slightly. He kissed the girl's head and ruffled her hair before he looked at Nathan.

"Do you have a gun?" Robert wondered and Nathan gulped, shaking his head before then he saw Robert pull one weapon from the belt inside his clothes and put it right next to Nathan's laptop.

"Take this! You can shoot if you hear or see something." Robert told Nathan.

"Yes.except the old lady who lives in the flat next door. He tends to forget where the cat is. I just didn't want to kill him with a heart attack because of the gunshot" Nathan commented, his voice sounding unstable as he was nervous to see the weapon.

Grinning, Robert left the two young men alone inside the house. As soon as the sound of the door closing, Nathan logged into his laptop typing something there.
