Screaming, Jessica ran to Nathan's side. He's trying to refuse to do whatever Nathan is doing right now. He continuously tried to fight in the clutches of the young man.
And at one of the corners, Nathan finally gave up and slowed his pace. He chose to walk when he felt Jessica who had just been struggling in her grip. Nathan let out a sigh of annoyance because this girl was completely unwilling to obey him.
Nathan looked back and immediately saw the burly and large man who had been chasing them. Once again, Nathan gulped down his rough saliva and his two eyes were rounded when he saw the gun he had in his hand.
"Listen, Jessica," urged Nathan on her impatiently. "We have to go. You see that guy? I think he wants to kill you, okay?"
"What?" Jessica asked. He then followed Nathan's index finger. And he could clearly see a gun that was in the hand of the burly man.
Jessica rounded for a moment before she finally saw the burly man point the gun at the two of them. Jessica's body froze in fear, unable to move even a little.
The man grinned, he was already about to pull the trigger on the weapon before Nathan acted quickly, holding Jessica's hand again and directly dragging the girl's body away, take refuge in a wall to protect themselves.
Dorr!!
A second later, screams from people and gunshots filled his ears as Nathan turned right and left, doing his best to wave his hand, looking for a taxi that happened to pass by.
"Taxi!" Nathan shouted loudly, his right arm waving as one of the taxis finally stopped for him.
Nathan opens the back door and leads Jessica inside. His bag fell near his feet as Nathan crawled into the car.
"Where?" ask the driver.
"National Gallery of Paintings" Nathan told the driver as he pulled back his recently dropped bag.
"Hurry now!" pinta Nathan to the driver.
Nathan was sure that those people would definitely not be able to find him there. From there he was able to get protection from his organization and meet his chairman.
The driver nodded. The taxi slowly started to go back. The curious Nathan was about to see the position of the burly man through the glass window behind him.
But the burly and large man suddenly returned to open his last shot towards the taxi, until it hit the rear glass window of the taxi and it made the rear glass of the taxi was smashed scattered and made Nathan back down again.
Dorr!!
Jessica shouted loudly as the taxi driver was slightly shaken to the left in surprise.
"Damn! What the fuck?" the driver stopped his taxi. "What's this?"
"Continue the journey" Nathan tried to urge him.
"But it's my window!" annoyed the taxi driver.
"You better worry about your window later."
"What did you say? I could lose a lot because of this" the cab driver snapped back.
"W-what?"
"Look! That guy's coming!" this time it was Jessica who called out. He could see the burly man running closer to the taxi they were riding in.
"Do you want to live or not? Walk quickly!" snapped Nathan.
Feeling the young man's words were filled with truth, the taxi driver finally chose silence. And finally, the taxi drove and continued to move down the night road to the National Gallery Building with a very tense atmosphere.
Nathan cleaned the glass shards from his coat. And just then she saw a shiny object around Jessica's face as well as her upper shoulder.
"Stay silent" urged Nathan.
"There's ap-"
Jessica's words came to a halt as Nathan's hand slowly picked up the shards on her cheek. Without realizing it, at this time, on Jessica's cheeks seemed something reddish-colored was flowing. And his breath choked as Nathan slowly pulled the piece of glass and threw it away with origin.
"We're safe" Nathan said.
Nathan was only able to lean his back against the back of the chair. Although this felt so stressful, at least he had to remain calm.
"What's this about? Explain to me!" Jessica spoke to Nathan seriously, demanding an explanation from the young man. "Who are you really? And what does that guy want?"
"It's kind of field work" Nathan said, trying to explain as much as he could.
"What?" Jessica was confused.
"I'm sorry that this won't calm you down enough. But try not to worry. We'll go somewhere safer than this.and.yes.someone will explain everything to you later."
"You're not a civil servant, are you?" Jessica tried to make sure. The girl gulped her saliva roughly as she spoke to the young man and Nathan immediately shook his head slowly.
"Yes, it's just my side job" Nathan replied.
"Then, is your name not Nathan?" ask Jessica.
"No, my name is Nathan." she answered Jessica's question just now. "And yes, your father is not a civil servant either."
"Who is he?" Jessica asked as Nathan pulled the other glass shards out of his hair.
"Stay silent! I have to take this shard of glass." urged Nathan again when Jessica wouldn't shut up.
As soon as Nathan finished cleaning the broken glass on the girl, he leaned back on the back of the car seat.
"About who your father really is. I can't say it. That's classified information, Miss Bailey," she whispered to Jessica. "Yes, but you'll find out soon enough. You'll get your answer later. So don't worry about anything. "
