"Wait a minute!" pinta Nathan made Dimitri raise his eyebrows.
"What else now? You're gonna threaten me by throwing your computer away?"
Without a second thought, Nathan then moved quickly closer to hold Jessica's arm. Dimitri's men held him back. He could feel the tip of the weapon belonging to Dimitri's men was still at the point of him even stuck to the head of the back.
Dimitri looked at Nathan who had just moved suddenly. Nathan looked back at Dimitri with an awkward look on his face.
"I just. I don't think I can't let her go in that thin outfit with you. You won't care how cold he'll be. So could she go with the coat," Nathan awkwardly spoke and looked as if Jessica's brows were furrowed in confusion.
Dimitri did not want to and did not refuse. He just stayed in his position. And that was a sign for Nathan to do what he wanted to do immediately.
Nathan then quickly took the coat off the back of his chair. He moved forward, closing in on Jessica. Dimitri then removed his grip from the girl's arm for a while. He watched as Nathan put the coat in his hand on Jessica's shoulder then tugged at the coat to tighten it, lest it fall off.
"Are you going to kill him?" Nathan asked. It was a stupid question and he could see clearly as the woman shuddered in horror.
"No. if Robert gives up," Dimitri replied, glancing at Jessica. "After all, it's not the girl I want."
"I know that." Nathan replied nodding.
Nathan's gaze remained fixed on Jessica as she used her hands to comb the girl's hair, keeping the hair away from Jessica's face. His finger touched Jessica's cheek as he did.
Nathan sighed and then took his handkerchief in his pants pocket, before then sweeping the handkerchief in the corner of Jessica's lips that turned out to be injured by a slap that was done by Dimitri's subordinates earlier.
"Don't worry," Dimitri said later, "You can get it back once we're done with his father."
"Yes," Nathan said, his voice sounding a little quivering. "Thank you ... obviously .. that. yes... that sounds better ..."
"You okay?" Jessica made sure and Nathan shrugged his shoulders.
"They didn't touch me one bit" Nathan continued to apply a handkerchief to Jessica's wound.
"Good." Jessica smiled.
Nathan then approaches Jessica, pretending to tidy up the collar of the back of the coat.
"I'll figure out a way to save you." Nathan whispered in Jessica's ear so that only the girl could hear her words.
Jessica moved quickly, sticking her lips to Nathan's cheek. Sensing that, Nathan was startled and his body froze for a while before he finally gathered his consciousness and whispered back to Jessica.
"I'll keep an eye on you" Nathan tries to convince her Jessica. "Nothing's gonna happen to you."
Jessica closed her eyes as she moved her head around Nathan's neck. He tried to hug the young man even though his hands were still tied.
Finally, unable to bear watching the scene, Dimitri immediately moved and grabbed Jessica's arm again.
"It was a very touching scene" Dimitri commented later. "Yes, I can tell that it's a bit sickening."
Nathan said nothing as Dimitri began to step out of the room, not staring at Nathan anymore. Dimitri clearly thinks that Nathan is a completely unimportant part of the game at the moment and Dimitri is convinced that Nathan must be harmless to his plans.
Yes, Dimitri thinks that he has even managed to hack into the system of the state organization and defeat Nathan's abilities. So, it's no wonder that right now he's underestimating Nathan even thinking that Nathan is completely incompetent.
Jessica looked back to see Nathan for a moment. And the girl nodded firmly before she finally disappeared from Nathan's sight. Nathan was left alone in the room.
Nathan drops a handkerchief on the floor and turns to look for the computer Dimitri didn't destroy with his gun. He rushed to do something on the computer.
Nathan flicked his work and sighed for a few seconds. "If Mr. Robert managed to survive all of this then he would definitely kill me" Nathan murmured.
He then resumed his work on the computer while typing in a bit of a hurry.
"And that's not at all the way to deal with death I've wanted all my life. I'd want to die lying in a hospital bed on my old day, not die at Robert Anderson's."
