Jessica then shifted the green button on her phone screen to receive a call from her father. He watched Nathan for a while before he started talking to his father.
"Hello dad." Jessica said later.
"Jessica," Robert replied from across the phone. "How are you doing there?"
Jessica breathed slowly. "Yes, I've been gone for over twelve hours and nothing has really changed. There's nothing different than there's no father here to accompany me."
"Is that so? What were you doing all day in there?" ask Robert again.
"Nothing special. I just went to a few places and also went shopping to the supermarket this morning to fill up my father's empty fridge. After that there is no more. And now I'm actually looking for a job in a cafe to relieve boredom and saturation."
"What's? You work?" Robert asked in shock, trying to ascertain his hearing.
"Huh? Ah, that's not what I meant, dad." Jessica pulled back her words. "I'm not at work, but trying to find a job to fill my free time. Yeah, like doing some math problems for example. It's just to get rid of the boredom."
"Is that so?" Robert finally understood.
"Yes, but it looks like my Macbook has a virus attack or something. I don't really understand. Though before this thing seemed fine, but now it's not working at all."
"Destroyed you?"
"Eitherway! I don't really understand. But one of your acquaintances is here. And it looks like he's trying to do something to help me."
"Father acquaintance? Who?" robert's tone of voice turned frantic for a moment.
"Father's introduction, Nathan." Jessica replied as she glanced at the young man in front of her. "To be honest, I don't know what he's doing right now on my Macbook. But he seems too smart to work at the Ministry of Transport or Transportation."
"Nathan then? Nathan Jones you mean?" Robert tried to be sure.
"Yes father, Nathan Jones, the man who met us in the gallery yesterday." Jessica explained in more detail.
"Wait a minute, Jessie. Why would Nathan be there, with you?" Robert wondered before Jessica shrugged her shoulders.
Nathan is seen stopping typing on his keyboard for a while. He could hear Robert's voice from where he was sitting. And Nathan also heard the question that Robert asked Jessica just now.
He tried to rack his brain, trying to do his best to think about what lies he was going to tell, so Jessica will not know what she is doing right now and will also make Robert feel calm.
"I guess because she wanted to buy a drink," Jessica said, her tone sounded confused. "I don't know, dad."
"We just accidentally met. I wanted to go somewhere and decided to stop by here to buy a glass of hot chocolate" Nathan said.
Robert could listen to the young man's voice from a phone call, though it wasn't very clear.
"Ah, I think this area is a pretty good place. Everything seemed pretty safe under my supervision. People in the ministry don't seem to have to worry about anything in this place" Nathan said casually as he looked out at the cafe, his sentence sounding a little ambiguous.
Jessica's face even looked shriveled in confusion as she heard Nathan's remark. What does that mean by 'safe under control?'
Their gazes met again for a while before Nathan finally shifted his gaze, looking back at his laptop screen to work on a glitch fix on Jessica's Macbook.
Why is he looking at me like that, Nathan. He looks wrong now.
Suddenly Nathan felt nervous himself when he was looked at by the girl. I don't know why. He was confused as to what feelings were arising in his heart and mind? Why should he be so nervous. Does he have feelings for this girl? But Nathan hurriedly shook his head. He rejected any kind of feeling in his heart.
Stop, fool. Yes, this girl is indeed very beautiful and also attractive. But what do you expect? She's Mr.'s daughter. Robert if you forget. Ah, you seem to have been in solitude for too long so you can't understand your own heart. And also you haven't talked to a woman for too long. That is the only reason why your heart seems warm when looked at by this girl. After your business is done, it looks like you should go on a date. Nathan spoke at length in his heart.
"By the way," Jessica said to her father across the phone, "How are you doing in Japan?"
"It looks dangerous, as always," said Robert honestly, but then he laughed to himself.
"How much work is behind your desk, Dad?" jessica Goda.
Nathan who heard only glanced at a glance. He sighed slowly. It seems true that Robert hid everything from his daughter. Jessica seemed to know nothing about her father's work.
"By the way, I think I should hang up, Dad. I have to see if my favorite thing can be fixed by Nathan."
"But you'll be home soon, right? It's late, so I hope you have to go home now." Robert tried to be sure and Jessica nodded, though he knew his father would not be able to see the nod.
"Yes" Jessica replied. "I'll be back home after Nathan finishes fixing my Macbook. So you don't have to worry."
"Of course not" Robert reluctantly agreed with his son. "It's safe there, Jessica."
"Yes, yeah," Jessica said slowly. "Later I'll call you again."
"See you." Robert said as a closing sentence then disconnected his phone.
