"Is this some kind of joke?" Jessica wondered as she looked at Marie.

Marie furrowed her brows, clearly not impressed at all by the girl's question.

"Do you think I look like I'm joking with you right now?"

"You guys look like that. Everything that happened seemed too shocking. As if it wasn't real. And also-"

"No!" cut Marie fast. "This is no joke at all. Your father was a secret agent. He's a government spy!"

Jessica grieved as the sentence entered her ear.

"Ck, how could he be a spy in the Ministry? He always spends his days at the desk. Then how could he be a secret agent like you just said."

Nathan who heard that grinned. He seemed to shake his head after hearing the sentence that came out of the girl's mouth. It was as if what the girl said was something funny.

He then looked back at his computer, continuing the hack he was working on when he finally spoke to Jessica.

"Your father would rather blow up a desk than sit at the desk itself. Trust me!" nathan said cynically without looking at Jessica and continued to focus on her computer.

Jessica shook her head. He still could not believe the words of the people before him. It was then that Marie stepped forward to stare at the girl fixedly.

Marie then continued her sentence. "I realized that this is a very surprising thing for you. But I can't tell you more details. For a while this was a bit of a lot of information you had to receive from us, although it was too shocking for you but it was indeed the truth. And now, I'm sorry that I had to go somewhere else. There was a lot of panic everywhere considering a man had opened fire on a public street."

Jessica knew the shooting incident Marie referred to was an incident that had been in her neighborhood near the cafe. At this moment Marie was seen starting to walk towards the stairs before then Nathan quickly raised his hand intending to ask.

"What about Jessica? Shouldn't he..yes.he went somewhere that might be safer? I can't leave because I have to stay here and work on this until it gets a bright spot."

"Where do you suggest a safe place?" Marie asked back. "Nobody knows he's here. Including the bad guys. All of our current agents have to work around the clock to investigate cases. And Robert will only be back tomorrow morning if he can finish his work on schedule. Yeah, I'm guessing she'll be here sooner than expected after she hears the news of her daughter's assault. Then what?"

Nathan swallowed his saliva and sighed slowly.

"But.but it's been very night, '" Nathan spoke in a stammering tone. "What if I go later?"

"Then you tell an agent who's standing guard outside. He will show you the spare room containing the sofa. He could wait there until morning or until his father arrived later. Now, I have to leave because right now I have other business to settle."

"Yes, Mom," Nathan nodded obediently. He had no choice but to follow the orders of his superiors.

Marie walked out of the room, leaving the two of them.
