Jessica couldn't sleep, but she knew from the beginning that she wouldn't sleep. And in the end he chose to just lie down and rest himself in his place against Nathan.
Nathan himself was currently sleeping soundly next to him. The young man's hand had slipped out of his hand. And Jessica herself had her doll under the pillow that she was currently hugging in her stomach. Jessica closed her eyes and could hear the slow snoring of the young man behind her.
Occasionally Jessica turned her gaze to the back of her body to look at Nathan. He looked at the young man with a sad expression on his face.
To be honest, since the Macbook tampering incident earlier, he knew that he and the young man were in trouble again. Jessica could feel that in her heart and mind.
One thing Jessica wanted right now. He just didn't want anything to happen to the young man. Jessica cares about Nathan more than she's ever wanted to admit. The fear of losing the young man becomes even more real for Jessica. Moreover, he had seen the young man get injured before. He doesn't know if he can bear it again if Nathan gets hurt again.
It was only after the clock showed the time at half-four in the morning that he looked at the screen of his phone that had suddenly lit up. That thing is ringing. Previously Jessica did put the object on the nightstand that was near her bed. Yes, he prefers to put his phone nearby timidly if in case of an emergency later he can easily reach it.
Jessica grabbed her phone and she could see the caller's name. It was clearly his father. Jessica quickly picked up the object and slowly got out of bed so as not to disturb Nathan. After being some distance away from Nathan, Jessica shifted the green button and brought the object closer to her ear.
"Hello."
"Jessica, thank God," Robert sighed. "Dad already received your voicemail and dad called out of worry. What the hell's going on? Are you all right?"
"Dad, I'm fine" Jessica told him as she closed Nathan's bedroom door. He touched the walls of Nathan's house in the dark. After he was near the sofa, he walked with his hand holding the back of the sofa before then he sat on the sofa.
"I'm at Nathan's house right now. He promised me that he would take me to the organization's office tomorrow so that I wouldn't be alone in his house." Jessica.
"Good then, tomorrow I'll catch the first flight so I can get back there quickly." Robert told him.
"The task is just a light task" Robert said. "That doesn't mean anything to dad, Jessica. Dad's boss could even send another agent here to replace him."
"All right," Jessica whispered as soon as she heard her father's reply. Jessica can't pretend that she's not happy to hear that her dad is coming home here "Dad, I miss you."
"Ck, do you miss me or worry about me?" Robert wondered at her in a satirical tone.
Jessica uncomfortably shifted in her chair. He took a few seconds before then sighed and rubbed his back neck.
"Yes, maybe both," Jessica replied hesitantly, playing with the bandages that were on her legs. "Are you okay there?"
"Dad's fine," Robert promised her. "Dad will come straight to the office to see you as soon as your plane lands. Okay?"
"Okay," Jessica nodded in agreement.
It was quiet for a while before Jessica spoke again.
"I don't know what this guy wants from me, Dad. I don't know why he dragged me into this. It really doesn't make sense to me."
"We don't know if he really intends to drag you into this or if this is just his way of playing with Nathan."
