Nathan could hear a few swear words from across the phone, before he finally heard a loud shard of glass. Nathan tried not to care what Robert was doing at the time. He just keeps trying to track Jessica's location from his cell phone again before he hears Robert talking back to him.
"It's better a joke, Nathan," said Robert in a sharp tone. ". Because if I manage to get out of this matter alive, then I will instantly kill you, with my own two hands. Ah, maybe with the gun you gave me the other day."
Nathan closed his eyes and bit his lower lip.
"Yes, I thought you might say something like that" Nathan whispered by phone.
"It's good that you're conscious."
"But one thing you should know, Mr. Robert. I tried my best to stop them. But of course it's gonna be harder when there's a gun someone's been pointing at you. You know that clearly. I can't fight like you anyway. Let alone to fight, moving one step I would definitely die."
"And so, since then, Dimitri has been trying to get Jessica to fight you. Dimitri tried to instigate Jessica. Jessica didn't accept it, of course. And he also told me about how you betrayed him back then.
"Then why did he bring Jessica?" Robert asked again. "Jessica doesn't even know where I am right now."
"That problem. Dimitri said that he didn't have to look for you. He knows he can lure you out using just Jessica. He's your son. That means he means a lot to you. Less is more like that." Nathan replied doubtfully.
"Damn!" robert was upset.
"And so was Robert." Nathan remained silent for a while before continuing. "Regarding Jessica.. You're not gonna let her die, are you?"
"That's.I mean is.You have to win against Dimitri later. Somehow, Robert. Because he said when you met, he had something planned for you. And.. You must be ready!" Nathan spoke in a worried tone.
"He'll take my daughter at gunpoint, Nathan! If I fight him it could endanger Jessica" Robert exclaimed in annoyance, then he sighed softly. "What do you expect from me, Nathan? How can I win with that."
"I'm sure you'll think of something, Robert." Nathan murmured. He went back silent for a moment, checking the clock on his wrist before he gave a rough sigh. It's been a few hours since the attack. "Jessica needs you right now, Mr. Robert."
Robert snorted in annoyance. "And do you think I don't know that? She's my daughter, if you forget, Nathan! I know he needs me right now. So, I was more worried about him than anyone else." Robert grumbled in his sarcastic tone.
"But is he okay. I mean, did Dimitri hurt her?"
Nathan grimacing. He thought for a moment, trying to consider lying to the old man. But Nathan knows that sooner or later, Robert will find out the truth no matter how hard Nathan tries to cover it up. He has a habit of doing that. Finding truth.
"Yes, Jessica said something that Dimitri didn't like and upset Dimitri" Nathan said. "Dimitri said he didn't hit a woman. so... back then."
Nathan tried to explain as subtly as possible so as not to sound too cruel.
"Duck," rattled Robert annoyed.
"Are you watching him?" ask Robert to Nathan.
"Yes, more or less so. Em, according to what I'm investigating, they're currently on their way to Thailand."
"Yes, you said that before, but how do you know that?"
"That's why I gave Jessica a coat that had my phone in it. After they left, I tried to track my phone and I managed to figure out their position."
"Good, I know where they're going. They must be trying to find me. Ck, I'll meet them quickly." Robert replied furious.
"But Robert, according to my radar, they're traveling at incredible speeds." Nathan said with worry. "Robert, I think they might go on a plane."
"Gosh," complained Robert then heard a long sigh from across the phone. Robert remained silent for a while before finally returning to talk.
"Nathan, how can I let this happen to him? How could I leave him there. How am I-"
"Robert!" cut Nathan fast. "At that time you left it because it was the safest option at the time. You know that our organization is supposed to be the safest place in the world. At that time you thought he was going after you, not after Jessica first. It's definitely not your fault." Nathan tries to tell Robert about his opinion. "And I want to say that self-pity will not solve our current problems, Robert."
Nathan could hear a rough noise from across the phone. Nathan sighed then he chose to lean on his desk. He feels so exhausted right now. Actually he was also still a little shaken and less able to control himself at this moment.
"You keep watching him" said Robert. "You have to make sure he .. I mean if he .. I…"
"I'll do what's best for him, Robert" Nathan promised Robert solemnly. "Ah and also.. I'm sure you don't want her mother to know about this, right?"
Robert again let out a heavy sigh back then. Nathan's right. He didn't even think about Jessica's mother at all.
"I'll tell her mom I mean, only if something happens" Robert said. "And of course I'll do my best to make sure that doesn't happen."
"I get it," Nathan nodded, he moved towards the computer and looked back at the screen.
Nathan was about to hang up before he heard Robert say his last words.
"And if I make it out of this, then I'll come and finish you first Nathan. One of the reasons Jessica can be with him is because you can't take good care of her" Robert said in a cold tone. "Of course, with the gun you gave me at the office the other day."
The phone connection was cut off and Nathan groaned softly after hearing Robert's threatening words, before returning to work.
