"Ah, Jessica,"

Nathan was shocked as he opened the front door of his house. He opened the door with only one hand while the other was supported by a brace attached to his neck.

Jessica was standing in front of her, a new bag hanging over her shoulder with reading glasses attached to the base of her nose. The girl clamped a women's magazine under her arm and a Macbook box in her hand.

"Hey," greeted the girl in a gentle tone to Nathan.

"Hey, Jessica.

"You asked me to bring something pretty to wear, so I did. Ah, I also carried her in my bag, a pretty dress, but I might need to iron her first. Can I borrow your ironing kit." Jessica said at length.

"te-of course," Nathan nodded, he spoke somewhat stuttered. To be honest it was probably because he was feeling a bit nervous right now, for some reason.

Jessica then stepped inside Nathan's apartment while the young man moved aside, giving the girl room to step up. After Jessica got inside, Nathan immediately closed the door of his house back while gulping roughly.

Nathan actually felt a bit hesitant to say what he planned for Jessica today. He also had no idea what he was going to say to the girl or how to say it. Nathan never asked a woman so he didn't know how. They both just got to know each other. Somehow it made Nathan also feel afraid that it would be too soon for Jessica to be seen in public with him.

'Hopefully it wasn't too fast for him, ' Nathan's inner breathing was long, trying to convince himself.

"So what happened?" Jessica wondered, while putting her things on the breakfast table. "Why did you ask me to bring you some beautiful clothes?"

"Look, I have a friend from Oxford, where I was in college..." Nathan explained, one hand held his chest, feeling pain in his ribs as he stepped onto the breakfast table and leaned there.

"Then..." Jessica is waiting for her next move.

"And they live here, in Indonesia now.well, I said they were friends.but in fact, they were just acquaintances. My mom always said I needed a friend. I often disagree with his opinion. So I don't really think they're my friends."

Nathan then shook his head, realizing the story that had inexplicably kept circling. "Ah, anyway, these friends.well..I tolerate their occasional presence, and they. they'll have a party tonight."

"Okay," Jessica grumbled. He smiled with a confused look. Jessica was kind of wondering now whether or not they were friends. He doesn't know. "I think you want to go to the party if I don't guess wrong, do you?"

"Well, that's it," lamented Nathan, rubbing his back neck with a stiff smile . "I haven't been to a party in three years. Yes, the pushy requests from 'peers' are sometimes a bit annoying, so..."

"I get it," Jessica said, wondering how many times her friend urged her to come to the party. Did he reject a friend's invitation several times?

"So, are you?" Nathan wondered, Nathan scratched his neck once more. "actually I don't want to drag you away with me, but I'd love it if you'd come with me...never went out with a girl..."

"It's okay, Nathan," Jessica smiled at him. "I'll accompany you."

"You want to?"
