"Here?"
"Here!" Robert nodded his head.
"Did you think I should." Jessica's words stalled for a while as she tried to guess what her father had said just now.
Robert smiled, as if he understood the rest of the sentence his daughter was going to say.
"…move to Indonesia?" Jessica eventually continued.
Robert then quickly nodded his head in response to the question from his daughter.
"Yes, Jessica. What do you think of that?" Robert smiled.
Jessica only looked silent for a moment while looking into her father's eyes with a look of disbelief before then she shook her head.
"No!"
"No?"
"Can't, dad." Jessica said subtly.
"Why not, Jessie?" Robert raised next to his eyebrows, looking astonished and confused at the same time.
"Come on dad..." Jessica sighed, "I can't just change universities, dad. Things didn't work out that simple and I couldn't have changed campuses so easily. I'll need an adjustment with the lecturer and also the contents of the lesson later."
Robert then tells Jessica about the plans he was thinking about, as well as the plans he had already prepared for Jessica. Everything, starting from the move he will take care of, his needs and so forth, but Robert must be disappointed because the results are nil. The girl refused even insisting that she did not want to move to Indonesia. He has his own life in Singapore.
"Dad is only worried about you" Robert told her in a sincere tone. "Dad was worried about what would happen if Dimitri came back later .. if he tried to take you again."
"Why did he do that?" Jessica said with a tone that began to be raised on her father.
Truthfully, his frustration was not without reason. He knew why his father wanted him to move. He knew why his father wanted to stay close to him. His father must be worried about him.
But Jessica felt that it was not the right thing to do, but she still understood. And her father also had to understand Jessica's position. Moving to Indonesia means he has to leave his residence in Singapore. He had to leave his friends to make new friends. There is also the problem of moving to college that will trouble him later.
"Who knows?" Robert replied as Jessica moved towards the closet, tidying up all the furniture she had just washed.
Robert leaned his waist towards the dining table and looked at the girl. Robert could tell that the girl was angry with him.
"The two of us won't know what Dimitri will do, Jessie," Robert told him, trying to calm him down. "Dad knows that Dimitri is in hiding right now. He has restrained himself. But who said he wouldn't try anything? I just don't want him to take you anymore."
Robert slowly sipped his drink again and put the bottle back down. She moved to get closer to the girl, putting both her hands on Jessica's shoulders.
"All right! You're a twenty-year-old woman," Robert sighed "You can do as you please. I honestly did because I just wanted you to stay with me, Jessica.
Nodding her head, Jessica turned to the side and looked at her father with a gentle gaze. Jessica had a feeling from the beginning that her father would definitely talk about this to her. Jessica knew that such a plan was too good a thing to be true. He moved to Indonesia. Living with his father. Yeah, no wonder her dad didn't want Jessica to leave. His father would want to be able to keep an eye on him and look after him.
"There's so much I can't do if I move in, dad." whispered Jessica. "I have friends in Singapore. I mean, before that my friend and I shared the rent. I don't know if she'll be able to find a new house rental friend or pay the rent alone. Not to mention he must be worried about everything that's happened to me. After all, can I transfer to another University my third year at the university before? Some places have their own provisions about such things, father."
"You're dating Nathan," Robert tries to remind her and Jessica to turn her body, turning the other way with a slightly misbehaved look as she pushes her hair behind her ear.
Jessica sighed, "To be honest, I don't want to continue living in fear, dad. I don't want to panic every time I see someone with blonde hair."
Robert raised his hand and placed it on Jessica's cheek, he did his best to calm the girl down.
"And neither does father want that for you," Robert quickly moved closer to the girl, stroking her back. "Dad just wants you to stay here and try to live a normal life."
"Living here is not my normal life, father." he murmured to her.
"It can be" replied Robert. "Dad wants you to stay here, Jessica. You're dad's daughter. And I really want you to stay with me until the next day, it'll be fun, Jessica."
Jessica smiled gently as soon as she heard him and kissed Robert on the cheek. Robert had to admit that he was surprised. She always felt astonished how Jessica's mood could change in the blink of an eye like this.
"I also like and am happy to be with you, Dad," she replied, "You know that, especially now, you're the only one I have. I can't help but think that's gonna lose dad again."
Robert shrugged his shoulders towards her and sighed in despair. The next second Jessica started to step back from him and Jessica nodded. He took a rough breath and then shook his head gently. He took a moment to think then looked back at his father before then he smiled.
"Okay" Jessica replied. "I'll stay here."
Robert did not know whether to smile or what. He was grateful, that was all he knew. She said nothing more when Jessica returned to tidying up the kitchen.
"But I had to make sure my roommate found a new friend in our rented house" Jessica said. "Dad needs to talk to Nathan about my move. I hope the move won't be a hassle."
"All right," cried Robert. "what is that?"
"That's it," Jessica nodded.
They fell silent and Jessica bit her lip, inwardly wondering how she would pass the news to her roommate later.
