"You're not leaving, are you?" Jessica asked suddenly to be sure.
Somehow, for a moment a sense of fear came to Jessica's heart when she saw Nathan who began to stand up and take his macbook and immediately handed it to Jessica. These few moments together made Jessica feel more protected than ever, for some reason. And he doesn't want Nathan to leave tonight.
Nathan who was currently packing his belongings turned to Jessica, he stared at the girl for a few seconds. Both of her eyebrows seemed wrinkled when she heard that question-pitched sentence from Jessica.
"I'm.yes.it's already night.." she said awkwardly.
"Is that so?" Jessica lowered her head, "Am I going to be alone here? I mean, won't anyone accompany me here?"
Nathan scratched his nape, "That problem..."
"Alright," Jessica nodded her head in understanding of her decision.
Jessica instantly realized that she had just been acting silly towards the young man. He had only known her during the time. Jessica shouldn't have to be this 'sticky' with her. But yes, Nathan's presence did make him feel safer.
Nathan looked at Jessica. He could see as the girl lowered her head and played her own finger on her lap. He knew that Robert would never forgive him if he saw such a sight on his son, as it looks today.
It was obvious that the girl was still in a state of fear at the moment. Nathan thinks he's the only person the girl can really talk to. And leaving it in a foreign room after this shocking incident would not look good at all.
"Well, it looks like I can order a pizza box or two for us" Nathan said gently to her. "I'm sure you'll be hungry by now."
Nathan sat back in his chair and turned on the computer at his desk. He pulled out his laptop from the bag and played his own laptop before Jessica smiled and quickly nodded her head in agreement.
"Thank you" whispered Jessica.
"Yes, don't worry anymore" Nathan told Jessica. "Your father will probably come back here tomorrow. I'm sure he'll explain everything to you later."
He watched a picture appear on Nathan's laptop and showed something that read 'agent in search'.
"What's that?" Jessica asked Nathan.
Nathan turned his gaze in the direction Jessica was referring to.
"That's what we're fighting right now" Nathan tells Jessica. "And your father was in Japan looking for a list of other BIN members undercover. The entire list had already fallen into the hands of the wrong person.and somehow that person had already managed to decode his secret... if the identities of those agents are known then their disguises will be exposed. And if their disguises are exposed, then-"
"Then that means they're all in danger?" cut Jessica to make sure of her guess.
"I will say so too" Nathan replied nodding his head in agreement. "If your true identity is known, it's as good as dead."
"And dad?" Jessica asked worriedly. "His life has always been in danger. I should know about this. I should have known how many times she had .. yes .. her life was in danger. How many times has he made it back to safety after doing his chores, but I never knew any of that ..."
"There's no point in worrying about him" Nathan tells Jessica, trying to convince the girl. "He's a good agent. Best agent. And all he has to do is pull the trigger and he'll stay alive."
Nathan then pulled out his phone and started looking for fast food from the app. "I'll order pizza now."
Jessica grieved at the sight of how cute this young man before her was to her father.
"You said about that horrible thing but why did it sound so casual" Jessica replied in a cynical tone before Nathan turned back to her.
"Yes, if I make it sound more dangerous than that, then obviously it will make you feel more worried" Nathan replied with a small smile on his face.
Nathan only shrugged his shoulders casually after explaining all that, while Jessica just silently crossed her legs on the chair.
