Nathan immediately ran over in a bit of a hurry. He rushed back to the hospital corridor until he came to the room where Jessica was being treated earlier and to a room where Jessica was.
Jessica smiled gently at Nathan as she tried to sit up straight again. Nathan then tried to join in forcing a thin smile on his face, trying to return the girl's smile.
At this moment Nathan stood in the middle of the room, staring at Jessica from there. He was too nervous to move forward and closer.
Nathan can see the blanket now covering Jessica's legs, hiding her injured leg from view. He now wears the blue clothes of the hospital on his thin body and Nathan realizes Jessica's face looks thin and also pale.
A tray was placed on the table just above his bed. Looks like a sandwich and a bottle of uneaten drink on it, somehow.
"I'm..."
Jessica's words stopped. He fell silent, not too sure what to say to Nathan because he was the last time he did it to the young man.
He has a guilty conscience and feels that he must apologize to Nathan for taking advantage of the love he had and running away from Nathan.
Jessica didn't know why but right now she just wanted to be angry with herself. Jessica then lowered her head.
"I shouldn't have run away let alone lied to you back then" Jessica said.
"No," Nathan quickly shook his head and moved to sit by his bedside.
Nathan then put his jacket on the chair next to his bed. "Jessica, don't blame yourself for this. It's not all your fault."
"How can this not be my fault?" Jessica snorted sliced then turned her gaze back to Nathan. "My father told me that guilt would surround me if I kept blaming myself. I just find it hard not to do it. Guilt continues to touch my heart."
"Your father is right" Nathan said to her with a serious expression, "although it hurts me to say it. What happened was obviously planned, you know that. It was planned by John. So stop blaming yourself. Don't let him destroy you. Your mother wouldn't want it. And your father, your father obviously didn't want you to blame yourself. And I don't want it, Jessica."
The girl moved one of her trembling hands to grasp Nathan's fingers. Nathan raised his hand and hugged Jessica gently.
"You're not mad at me, are you, Nathan?" Jessica suddenly asked him.
Nathan quickly shook his head. "How could I be angry with you? Don't worry if I'm angry or not, Jessica."
Jessica smiled, then Nathan took off his embrace and Jessica moved to adjust her seat on the bed.
"Have you eaten anything?" Nathan asked. To be honest he knew very well that the girl had not even eaten, her food remained intact, sitting on a small dining table on top of the bed.
"I'm not hungry" Jessica replied.
Nathan quickly shook his head and let go of his handrails. He took the bottle and opened the lid. Nathan had to admit that the food did not look appetizing. Nathan thinks that Jessica should ignore that and keep eating her food. Nathan then pushes the food closer to Jessica.
"Yes, father," he rolled his eyes lazily and tried to raise his arms up. The pain in her ribs made Jessica feel somewhat uneasy after she had not moved for so long.
Nathan is focusing on opening a plastic sandwich for Jessica. And Nathan took the food out immediately and brought it closer to Jessica's mouth, about to feed the girl.
"You're really going to feed me like this? You treat me like a baby?" Jessica asked in a lazy tone.
"Just open your mouth and eat, Jessica," Nathan demanded.
Jessica was silent and chose to do what Nathan told her. He drinks the drink and eats a sandwich that Nathan feeds him.
"Aky knew that I had to say something" Jessica replied hurriedly to Nathan. "I knew that I should at least try to talk. I mean ... earlier I spent hours crying to my father ..."
"He's your father" Nathan replied. "You can cry even for days at a time."
Jessica was silent before looking at Nathan while Nathan returned to feed him the sandwich.
"I don't think I can cry anymore" Jessica replied. "I'd be dehydrated if I did that..."
"You need to get some rest" Nathan told him. "You should eat and then sleep."
"You're not leaving, are you?" Jessica asked him to take it and Nathan shook his head.
"I'll stay here."
Jessica smiled happily and returned to feeling calm. He finished his meal before Nathan told him to lie down.
Nathan almost moved out of bed when he felt Jessica's hand clasping her hand, stopping him from going anywhere.
"I want to put this used wrap in the trash" Nathan said.
"Stay here!" pinta Jessica and Nathan both sighed and nodded their heads with a smile.
After that Nathan chose silence and remained seated in his place, his mind wondering back through the events of the day.
'You must have suffered a lot, ' Nathan's inner gaze looked at Jessica's face.
