Jessica and Robert fell silent as they began to look around the room filled with various kinds of paintings. Jessica did as much as she could to see the artistic nature of the paintings in front of her. But he still felt he was the most stupid and difficult person to understand art than anyone else standing around him.
The father is seen walking by his side. The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes as he glanced at a painting. He looked focused on the painting. Jessica could only shake her head, drawing closer to her father to whisper in his ear.
"I don't understand anything here" Jessica said, glancing at the painting her father had just seen. It was just a painting of a fruit basket on the wall. "People say painting has meaning. But look! It's just a basket of fruit. What does that mean?"
Robert cleared his throat once, turning his head to his right and left, trying to pretend to be interested in the painting before him. To be honest, he also did not really understand the meaning of the paintings. Robert hates painting. And the only reason Robert could be in this building was because he was planning to meet someone.
"It's quite simple" a voice just spoke.
Robert turned his head and looked over his daughter's shoulder just as he saw a young man standing near them. He was the one who had just spoken to them. The young man's eyes were fixed on the painting in front of him. He fixed the location of the glasses that had been perched at the base of his nose, as he stared with a calm expression at the two people before him.
"The meaning is really very simple" the young man said again to the father-son couple. He is seen crossing both hands to the front of his chest as he turns his body, facing towards the two people nearby.
The two men also looked at him. One with wide eyes and the other stared with narrowed eyes.
“Do you know the term 'picture reading'?" ask the young man to Jessica who currently looks squinting do not understand.
The young man sighed slowly. "So, for example, when you look at a picture of a basket of fruit, your head will think of something else like a stall in the market."
"Yes, but," Jessica flicked her words for a moment as her head turned back towards the painting before her to look at her more fixedly, ". What I just thought was a basket of fruit."
The young man seemed to be scratching his forehead, he looked somewhat frustrated at this moment. Look at! This girl before him had absolutely no taste for art. Robert had been silent since. He noticed the clothes that the young man was wearing only after that Robert also looked back at the fruit basket painting on the wall.
"That's it, isn't it? This is a basket of fruit. And it doesn't tell us anything." Jessica said with a plain look.
"It's obvious that you won't see the deeper meaning of the painting" the young man told the girl before him.
"Yes, I did find it a bit difficult to see the meaning of the painting. But how can you find that deeper meaning" Jessica asked.
Robert was now interested in the young man. He did not say anything for a few seconds as his heart continued to wonder if this young man was someone who had been asked to meet him. Ah, it doesn't seem, just because look at it, the boy even looks like a man who just graduated from university.
