My Dad Turns Out to be Eyes

Nathan is currently working seriously on his computer. He does his best to keep his mind always in a calm state and also stay focused. Nathan can't pretend to say he's not tired.

Truth be told, Nathan felt that his body really needed sleep even if it was only a minute. In addition, Nathan also felt that his brain felt heavy and he needed rest.

But Nathan will still endure that drowsiness and fatigue. Imagine, he even had several times to drink caffeine to keep himself in a state of wakefulness, because Nathan knew that was all he could do so that he did not sleepy and fall asleep.

It was almost eight o'clock in the morning and they had less than five hours left until the allotted time ran out. And that's when he suddenly heard his phone start ringing.

Nathan looked at his cell phone. He could see an unknown number plastered on his phone screen. It made her somehow feel worried, but she chose to keep sliding the green button and received the phone call.

"Who is this?" Nathan wondered, his tone sounding cautious.

"Nathan?"

Hearing the trembling voice of the person across the phone was enough to make Nathan take his eyes off his computer.

At the moment Nathan's body could only stand in his position, too shocked to react. His throat was choked upon hearing that voice he so longed for.

Nathan did not reply and only kept silent for a while while closing his eyes. Fear enveloped Nathan as he thought about what could happen to Jessica at this moment. And frankly Nathan is confused as to why Jessica can contact him right now? Is this another bad idea John had planned?

"Nathan! It's me Jessica." said the girl once more. "Can you hear me?"

Nathan opened both eyes.

"Jessica, is this really you? Where are you? What has he done to you? Then how did you get in touch with me?"

"I was in Bogor, in a villa on the top." whispered Jessica with a trembling voice at the young man. "I... John, he's out there somewhere. I.. I managed to escape from her.but right now, I need to..."

"What?" Nathan replied loudly, his tone also sounded shocked. "You got away with it? Jessica, I need your exact location right now."

"I'll send you the address after this" Jessica replied quickly. "I climbed out through the bathroom window and managed to escape .. and then I met Mr. Harrison... I hit John with a shovel ..."

The vagueness of Jessica's story confuses Nathan, but he chooses not to say anything about it. Nathan remained silent and listened to all of Jessica's stories attentively. She's secure. The girl is safe. And Nathan can feel that Jessica is indeed safe.

"You're safe, right?" Nathan asked to be sure.

"I'm safe" Jessica said. "I want you to tell my father. Yeah, I've been trying to reach her somehow. And I called you."

"Thank God" Nathan replied sighing in relief.

"I'm glad you finally picked up the phone" whispered Jessica. "And.. will you come to see me? Will you come with me when he comes to see me later, Nathan?"

Nathan took a moment to think something before then sighed and brought a look in his eyes, looking up at the ceiling of the room.

"Of course," Nathan said at last to Jessica "I think they'll take you to the hospital after this."

"I'll find out which hospital they're taking you to. Wait, Jessica. I'll be there as soon as possible, okay? Me and your dad. We'll come for you and we'll make sure nothing happens like this again."

"Jessica, I think the ambulance came I heard the siren outside" an old woman's voice spoke to Jessica.

Jessica looked at the woman, she was the wife of Mr Harrison. Jessica nodded as she smiled at the smile on her face, the blanket on her shoulder slightly dropped.

"I have to go" Jessica whispered on the phone to Nathan. "Look Nathan..."

Jessica didn't know what else to say. He felt as if he had to say something precious to the young man as a closing remark.

He felt like he had to tell Nathan about his heart. About how he started to feel something in his heart about the young man. Or about how he misses her so much.

He just wanted to say that he loves Nathan. That'sthat's all.

But no words could come out of his mouth. The tongue feels funny. And he also could not really think of any correct sentence to say to the young man.

Fortunately, Nathan seemed to know what the girl was going to say to him. Because it turned out that the young man also wanted to say the same to Jessica.

"I know," Nathan said to her in a calm tone. "I know what you're gonna say. I'm Jessica too. I love you too..."

"Thank you Nathan." said Jessica. "I love you."

"Yes, and you're there, Jessica. Me and your dad, we'll be right there after you send us the address."

"alright. See you, Nathan" Jessica said, and she ended up hanging up.

As soon as the phone closed, Nathan put his phone on the table. Shortly after, his phone turned on and Nathan opened it and read the address Jessica had just sent.

Nathan pushed his reading glasses deeper into the base of his nose. He'll tell Robert this news. Nathan then grabbed his jacket and put the phone in his hand in his jacket pocket before nodding at Alice.

"I have to go now, you handle everything here!" nathan's orders to Alice and her subordinates nodded.

"Yes, sir!"

Nathan could see just then that some other workers started walking into the room. No wonder, considering this is already morning and the clock has shown the time to enter the office.

Nathan said nothing more as he walked among his subordinates and he knew that he would definitely be their gossip again today.

But he doesn't care.
