My Dad Turns Out to be Eyes

Robert allows Nathan to go in and see Jessica shortly after Robert learns that his mother is out in search of fresh air.

Robert said that he would also go out to look for Kate. He wanted to know what his ex-wife would decide after Jessica was much better and could be discharged from the hospital later.

*In the ward*

"Nathan?"

Jessica exclaimed in shock when she saw Nathan Jones now in front of her. The young man was seen walking into his ward.

Of course Jessica was surprised, because the last time he and Nathan talked to each other was when Nathan accompanied her on the phone after the incident of burning the house. And suddenly the young man was already here, in front of him.

"Jessica," Nathan replies back to Jessica. He looked awkward as he walked closer and closer to the girl.

"What are you doing here?" jessica asked in surprise.

"Ah, that.." Nathan smiled stiffly. He then pointed to Jessica's bag that Robert had placed at the foot of his bed. "That's yours. I think I should give it back to you. You have my coat anyway. And also my cell phone that's in that coat pocket."

"Your phone?"

Nathan nodded, "i used it to track you."

"Your coat and your phone. I think both of those things may have been damaged and destroyed, too" Jessica replied with an awkward smile on her face. While Nathan still remained standing where he was before, while his hands were in his pockets as he looked at Jessica.

"I think it falls into the category of bad news" Nathan replied later.

"I.. apologize!" said Jessica.

Nathan blinked. She secretly notices Jessica's seemingly disheveled appearance. Starting from her hair that looked crumpled and greasy, to her face that looked thinner than before, the clothes she was wearing also looked shabby.

Nathan looked at Jessica's face fixedly and he could see how black the eye bags the girl had. And it can prove clearly that the girl is not sleeping well or may not be sleeping properly.

"You look terrible" Nathan spoke before sitting on the chair beside Jessica's bed.

Nathan's words elicited a laugh from Jessica, the girl laughed as she watched Nathan pull up the chair to sit down. Jessica clenched her hands and punched him into Nathan's stomach.

"I'm just being honest" Nathan said with a smile while rubbing his belly which had just been fisted by Jessica.

"I'll look better later. Ah, I really can't wait for the day when I can take a shower to come. I'm gonna soak in the bath up all day."

"That day is coming" Nathan replied.

"I hope." Jessica's smile appeared on her face.

"So can I know why you're here?" ask Jessica later. "I didn't think that I'd see you in Thailand like now."

"No. I'm just.." Nathan said stammered.

Nathan put his hands together and looked down. He bit his lower lip in doubt. For a while she thought about what she should say to Jessica.

"A good visitor will usually bring snacks, fruit parcels or other luggage" Jessica said casually. "Ah.. greeting cards that contain encouraging sentences are also not bad. Or maybe both, greeting cards and snacks."

"Yes, that's actually a store like that in front of this hospital. But I don't understand their language. I'm also a little uncomfortable meeting new people and don't want to do anything that makes me uncomfortable."

"What is self-defense?"

Nathan shook his shoulders, "you can call it that."

"Are you an introvert?" ask Jessica suddenly.

"Huh?" Nathan frowned confused.

"I mean you said you weren't comfortable meeting new people" Jessica said. "That feeling is only shared by shy people or maybe introverts."

"Ah, thats. Yes, maybe it can be called like that." Nathan said yes.

"So, there won't be any fruit parcels?" ask Jessica again.

Nathan nodded, "Yes, maybe so. I know what your father's nature is anyway. He'll definitely think that I'm trying to tease you later."

"Yes, I also know what he's like." Jessica sizzled lazily, "Oh yeah, she told me that she was going back to work. And I'm gonna go back to find Dimitri."

"It would help him if we knew where Dimitri was at the moment" Nathan said. "I haven't even heard anything. I think Dimitri will be quiet for a while. Maybe."

"I hope he will be silent forever. That would sound better," Jessica and Nathan murmured as they watched Jessica's look turn sad. Eyes glazed.

Nathan frowned, then looked at Jessica with a worried look. Nathan guessed it was possible that the girl felt pain in her leg.

"What's wrong?" nathan asked later. "Did your leg hurt again?"

"No" Jessica replied. He then wiped his watery eyes with the back of his hand. "I'm doing fine. To be honest, there's nothing wrong with me."

"There's usually something wrong when someone starts crying all of a sudden." Nathan said he couldn't believe it.

Jessica lowered her head. He felt confused to tell his complaints to Nathan or not. On one hand Nathan is a new person he knows, but on the other hand, Nathan is the only person who can always make him feel comfortable.

Nathan could clearly see how proud the girl before him was. Nathan smiled, his hand moving grabbed Jessica's hand and held it for a while.

"Jessica.. If something is bothering you right now, you can tell me everything you feel. Glad you, sad you, everyone. And as you know, I saved your life before. It means that I am also the one responsible for you. You can trust me."

Jessica finally looked up, raising her chin so she could look Nathan in the eye. A snort came out of him.

Jessica was silent for a while before then she took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly.

"It's about my mom…"
