"The question is...for whom is the memory card intended? Who did he give it to?" Nathan said.
Nathan continues to wonder as soon as he and Jessica arrive back at his apartment. Both clothes were drenched after they were forced to leave the bus terminal on foot because they could not find a taxi to return home. It was too late to get a taxi that night.
Nathan's umbrella was even damaged by rain and strong winds. That left Jessica and Nathan unable to do anything else but continue on foot after unsuccessfully trying to find a taxi.
"That's impossible for me," Jessica shook her head, refusing to believe that something bad would happen to her again. "I mean you're the head of the ministry while I'm just a student."
"Yes, you are a student. But with a father who works as a government spy agency." Nathan tries to remind Jessica as he steps up to her room and opens the door to her wardrobe.
Nathan then pulled out two dry towels and handed one to Jessica, while she started to mess up her own hair, trying to dry her hair from getting wet.
"Nobody knows that" Jessica replied, shaking her shoulders. "Nobody knows that my father was a spy."
"Dimitri knows," once again Nathan tries to remind the girl. "Who said that no one else knows?"
Little did Nathan know, but Jessica herself had secretly thought about it as well. She had been sitting for several hours on the bus and during the ride home Jessica kept thinking hard, thinking about who the person who had sent the thing was to them.
And his mind only fell on one person, only one person would do it. It was Dimitri, obviously it was Dimitri.
Jessica lowered her head, secretly she went back to thinking if Dimitri had come to her again. He obviously didn't want to be the prisoner of that man anymore. Jessica didn't know what she would handle if it really happened to her again. One thing Jessica wanted to say right now, she did not want to get in touch with the man anymore.
"You may be right" whispered Jessica, draping a towel around her neck.
Nathan turned his head towards Jessica and smiled slightly at the girl before he took the thing out of his pants pocket. He constantly patted his pants pocket on the street, to make sure that the memory card was still on him.
"Everything will be fine, I promise!" Nathan promised Jessica "You have to take a shower and dry yourself. You must be feeling cold right now."
"I'm going to take a shower. But shouldn't we do something with that first?" Jessica said quietly while pointing to the memory card again.
Nathan nods at him and kneels near his living room table, where his laptop is located.
"I think so too. I'll see the contents, Jessica. Don't worry."
"No! Wait a minute.." Jessica suddenly called out to Nathan when the young man was about to turn on his laptop.
"What if it's meant for you?" Jessica told him. "Your laptop is clearly full of government secrets. It would be dangerous if you were to plug anything on your laptop. It's just full of math lessons. Surely it'll be safer if you use mine."
Nathan took a few seconds to think before he finally nodded in agreement with the girl's words. It took Nathan a few seconds before he moved his laptop and replaced it with Jessica's Macbook. Nathan took a moment to look at the moving screensaver on the screen.
"In this picture you look ... well .. kinda..."
"Oh," Jessica said as she looked at the picture Nathan was referring to. "That's me and my friend, we're making a cake for our house on holiday. We really made a mess that day."
Nathan chuckled as the two blond girls stood in the kitchen looking messy. They both appear to be wearing aprons that even look dirty. In the moving picture, they were holding the cake batter, the dough fell and they laughed. There was flour on their faces and their sleeves were rolled up to the elbows with patches of flour on top of their pale skin.
"You look. so...relax..." Nathan tries to tell him and eventually he takes his eyes off the screensaver and turns to the memory card he has in his hand.
Nathan put it on Jessica's Macbook and waited for a while. Instillation seems to take a while and Jessica is seen continuing to dry her hair with a towel.
"There's a folder here," Nathan muttered softly, his gaze still focused on the screen. "Interesting.. there's only one file in it..."
"What's that?" Jessica wondered at Nathan as she took a moment to look towards the screen.
Jessica remained silent waiting for the superior to answer her question as Nathan pushed her glasses further up the base of her nose. He took a few more moments to see Nathan open some files in the form of documents on his laptop screen.
On the current screen there are codes scattered all over the page full screen of the laptop and that leaves Jessica's brows furrowed in confusion. Whatisthis? What does the sender mean? Jessica doesn't know. He did not know what to think about what he saw at that moment.
"Nathan" Jessica whispered to him. "What's that?"
Nathan remained silent, his mouth opening for a moment as he re-adjusted his glasses and leaned closer to the laptop screen. Nathan blinked his eyes for a few times, wondering if he was currently seeing the right thing.
"This.this is the code," Nathan muttered to himself. "Destroyer code..."
Jessica's forehead is getting wrinkled. "What are you talking about?"
"Nuclear weapons" Nathan whispered to him.
