Chapter 96's

** Usopp and Chopper vs. Mr. 4 and Ms. Merry Christmas **

Usopp and Chopper are currently at the southeast Gate, standing in front of Mr. 4 and his partner Ms. Merry Christmas and their very strange looking dog. Usopp took out his catapult and lowered his glasses down, and Chopper was currently using the Heavy points change.

Both of them showed very serious faces. From the top, Luffy was impressed with Usopp. Luffy could feel nothing but great determination from Usopp. His confidence was not where it should be, but after all, he was extremely determined.

"Okay Chopper, let's not do anything crazy. We still don't know what crazy abilities our two enemies have and not to mention that strange-looking dog" Usopp said as he stared at the two agents.

"Yes," replied Chopper. Ms. Merry Christmas looked at the two before she grinned and quickly jumped into the air, and started digging into the ground flying a lot of dust that prevented Usopp and Chopper from seeing what was going on.

"What did he do !?" Usopp shouted as he filled his slingshot with bullets and pointed it at the cloud of dust.

"I don't want to wait and find out" Chopper said, causing Usopp to nod his head before he pulled the rubber on his slingshot backwards and shouted.

"Special Attack: Exploding Star!" Usopp shouted as he shot a pellet towards the dust cloud. The tiny pellets went into a cloud of dust and exploded where the two agents were. The blast blew away even more dust, but it was no problem for Usopp and Chopper.

Both of them knew they were not good fighters, so the chance to end the fight before it started was something they would not miss. As soon as the smoke and dust finally dissipated, Usopp and Chopper noticed that there was no sign of the two Baroque Works agents at their place.

There was only a large hole in the ground where they stood, but Chopper and Usopp did not think too much about the hole, they thought the hole was caused by Usopp's Exploding Star.

"Have we managed to defeat them," Chopper asked as he looked around.

"I don't know" replied Usopp. "I don't see them anywhere, so maybe we did manage to beat ... MOVE OVER!" Usopp shouted as Haki's observation reminded him of the danger coming from beneath them.

Chopper and Usopp quickly jumped away from where they were standing, with Usopp moving to the right and Chopper to the left. A hole opened on the ground from where they had previously stood. When Chopper landed about 10 feet away from the hole, he was forced to jump again when another hole opened where he moved.

"What's going on!?" Chopper yells when jumping.

"They're underground!" Usopp shouted before he jumped from his position back then. As soon as his feet left the ground, a hole opened in the sand. When he landed, he heard laughter from inside the hole.

"Hahaha!" Ms. Merry Christmas laughed as she poked her head out of one of the holes. "I'm Ms. Merry Christmas and I eat Mole-Mole Fruit so I'm a mole man (land rat)," he said rather quickly.

"And now I'm going to introduce our number 4 hitter!" said Ms. Merry Christmas while waving her hand and looking into the distance, towards the southeast Gate. As Usopp and Chopper looked in the same direction, they saw Mr. 4 slowly rise from underground through the hole, holding a giant baseball bat with the number 4 on it.

"Mrs. 4.. Come on, Mr. 4! Hurry along! Hurry along!" Said Ms. Merry was a little quick. "And Pitcher (ball thrower) our star ... Lassoo!" he said as the strange-looking dog rose from the hole behind Usopp.

"That dog's a pitcher?" Usopp asked with a confused expression on his face. The strange dog then sneezed and shot the baseball at a terrifying speed, causing Usopp and Chopper's eyes to widen in shock. Usopp quickly lowered his head to the ground, causing the baseball to miss in the process.

The ball shot towards Mr. 4 who then swung his giant bat and hit the ball with perfect timing and force, sending the ball flying back towards Usopp who was still on the ground. Chopper looked at the trajectory of the ball and saw that Usopp would not be able to dodge.

He immediately ran towards Usopp, trying to reach Usopp before the ball, but unfortunately, Chopper was not fast enough. Just as the ball was about 1 meter away before hitting Usopp, the strangest thing happened before Ms. Merry Christmas and Mr. 4. A random bolt of lightning descended from the sky and hit the ball, which caused it to explode.

The blast sent Usopp and Chopper flung a few feet away. Both Baroque Works agents are confused by what just happened, but Usopp and Chopper know exactly what happened.

That Lightning strike meant one thing and only one thing, Luffy was watching. Usopp and Chopper slowly rose from the sand, with some minor bruises and some burns, especially on Usopp.

"Damn it, you two are really lucky!" Ms. Merry Christmas said quickly. "But let's see if your luck will save you again!" he said before gesturing for Lassoo to shoot the ball again.

The dog sneezed once again, sending another baseball towards Usopp who was running towards Chopper. Mr. 4 went into the hole where he had previously been and emerged from the new hole behind Usopp and Chopper, in a ready-to-hit position.

Both Usopp and Chopper jumped out of the attack lane, making sure to land on their feet, knowing that Mr. 4 would hit the ball in the direction of one of them. As they had guessed, the giant stick hit the ball towards them. The only difference is that this time, he's eyeing Chopper.

They thought that the first explosion was due to Luffy's lightning, it turned out that the ball was like a cannonball. Usopp, deciding to think of a plan to attack quickly, before the two agents attacked them again, started looking around for ways to find something useful and lucky them.

"Usopp, what should we do?" Chopper asked Usopp while watching the enemy. Usopp did not immediately reply, he thought about it for a few seconds before he had an idea.

"I have a plan" Usopp said, drawing Chopper's attention. "We're going to turn their biggest gain into their biggest loss" Usopp said, confusing Chopper.

"How's it?" Chopper asked as he tilted his head to the side.

"Look, all you need to do is keep the big guy busy" Usopp said as he reached into his pocket. Chopper nodded before he dashed towards Mr. 4 with his fists pulled back, getting ready to hit him.

As Chopper swung his fist, Mr. 4 went into the hole, dodging Chopper's punch. When Chopper's punch missed, the sound of Merry Christmas's laughter echoed through all the holes.

"You guys are so stupid! Stupid, I said! You idiot!" he said quickly.

"No, you're the fool!" Usopp replied with his catapult pulled back.

"Special Attack: Gas Star!" Usopp shouted as he fired five small pellets that went into five different holes on the ground. When the pellets entered the hole, they broke open as they clashed with the ground, releasing gas into Ms's tunnel. Merry Christmas's.

"CHOPPERS! RUN!" Usopp's yelling caused the deer to run away from the area.

"Special Attack: Gas Star!" Usopp's shout once again sent five more pellets into five different holes causing the same gas to be released. Usopp then ran. As he ran, he filled his catapult with one more pellet, and pointed it at one of the gas-emitting holes.

"Special Attack: Exploding Star!" he shouted sending pellets into the hole that caused the pellets to explode as they collided. When the pellet exploded, the explosion burned the gas, which Usopp had previously fired into an underground tunnel, and then it caused a huge explosion that scorched those 2 Baroque Works agents along with everything within a radius of 15 meters.

Usopp was blown flying by the blast, but before he could hit the ground, Chopper jumped in front of him and captured Usopp's body, then landed on the ground safely.

A large cloud of dust enveloped the area, preventing anyone from looking inside. Chopper and Usopp looked up from their positions on the ground to see if they managed to defeat the agent, but they could see nothing.

They waited a few minutes for the dust to dissipate, then they saw a huge crater at least 30 meters wide in front of them, and in the middle of the crater were two Baroque Works agents and their dogs.

Usopp and Chopper looked at each other with big smiles on their faces before they both started laughing and celebrating.

"We made it!" they scream at the same time. The two then helped each other stand before walking to the edge of the crater. They stared at the two unconscious agents with a proud smile on their faces.

Just as Usopp was about to say something to Chopper, a bolt of lightning descended from the sky and struck the center of the crater and flew the dust into the air. As the dust subsided, the two straw hat pirates saw their captain standing in the middle of the crater, staring at them with a smile on his face.

"Luffy!" Chopper shouted as he turned back into his Brain Point.

"You two did well" said Luffy, tying the two agents and the dog with a lightning rope. "I'm quite impressed with the way you handle each of you. And that's a good plan, Usopp," added Luffy as he began walking towards them.

When he got there, Luffy reached into his coat and took out Chopper's medical bag. "Here, take care of your injuries and then go to the city to help Vivi and the others," Luffy said with a smile before his face showed a grim expression. "The two armies have already started fighting," Luffy said to their surprise.

"Can Vivi not talk to the rebels?" Usopp's question caused Luffy to shake his head.

"No," Luffy replied causing Chopper and Usopp to look down. "Don't worry about the past, focus on the future. Take care of your wounds and go help Vivi," she said before turning around and walking back to the center of the crater.

"I'll check if the others need help in their fight," Luffy said before a lightning rope came out of his hand and stuck to the rope that tied the two agents. Luffy then turned his body into lightning and streaked into the sky, taking the Baroque Works agent with him.
