Chapter 53's

As he sips his drink, four random Baroque Works agents get a stupid idea and try to ambush Luffy from behind. Of course, Luffy knew they were there, but he didn't care.

The four agents had no idea what hit them when four lightning bolts were fired from Luffy's throne and pierced through their chests killing the four of them.

"Rubbish," Luffy said with a sigh before he turned his attention back to everything that was going on underneath. Zoro cut through the crowd as easily as Luffy had expected.

The thing that surprised Luffy was how well Johnny and Yosaku were holding a bisento. The two of them slashed at the Baroque Works agent with ease similar to Zoro and it seemed, their haki observations were increasing the more they fought.

Luffy had a proud smile on his face when he saw the way they progressed, and they progressed faster than Luffy expected. Luffy wondered if it was time to start their training in armament haki.

As the fight progresses, Luffy's haki observations tell him someone is moving in the bar where all the crew are sleeping. After further analysis, he realizes that it is Nami who is looking for something of value that the bounty hunters might have.

While chuckling to himself, Luffy returned his attention to the fight. He noticed that Zoro yelled at one of his swords. What a strange sight to behold, a grown man spoke with his sword.

"The third well kitetsu, you're quite sharp but you're also a troublemaker, aren't you," Zoro said in an annoyed voice as he raised his sword to his face. "A good sword only cuts when its master directs it. Damned sword or not you will listen to me," said Zoro not paying attention to one of the bounty hunters sneaking behind him.

The next thing Zoro saw was a small bolt of lightning passing through him cutting off a few strands of hair at the base of his neck before hitting the bounty hunter behind him right on the head.

Zoro was startled for a while before he looked back and saw a dead bounty hunter lying on his back with a smoky hole in the middle of his forehead. He then looked to see where the shot had come from and saw Luffy sitting on his throne holding a smoking gun.

"You should pay attention to your surroundings Zoro," Luffy's tirade caused Zoro to nod his head and turn his attention to his new opponent, Ms. Monda.

Luffy turned towards Johnny and Yosaku and saw them fighting against Mr 9 and Ms. Wednesday, he then realizes that someone is missing from all this excitement and that it is Mr 8. Luffy then looked straight ahead and saw Mr 8 standing in the same place as before, looking at Luffy with an angry expression on his face.

"There's a problem what Mr.8 is," Luffy asked in a mocking tone that made Mr.8 even more angry. "Has the mighty Baroque Works been defeated by a few small pirates from the East Blue?" Luffy asked and continued to mock her. "I wonder what your boss thinks of all this?" Luffy asked causing Mr 8 to pale before he regained his composure and shouted at Luffy.

"I'll make you pay for all this!" he yells at Luffy before blowing his saxophone and a bullet comes out towards Luffy. Luffy paid no heed to the bullets and just letting them pass through his body caused Mr. 8's eyes to widen.

"Hmm, that's not very good," Luffy said as he continued to mock her. Before the 8th Lord could reply, a loud high-pitched scream came from the area where Zoro was fighting.

Luffy and the others looked over there and saw Zoro holding onto Ms.'s head. Monday with his hand squeezing it, then Zoro let go and he fell unconscious on the roof.

Two other shouts came from where Johnny and Yosaku were fighting and when Luffy and Mr.8 looked up, they saw Mr. 9 and Ms. Wednesday fainted on the ground. The other Baroque Works agents were terrified at this moment.

"They beat the agent by one number" said one random agent in a frightened voice.

"And their captain hasn't even done anything yet" said another.

"We're all going to die here today" one man said as he dropped his weapon and knelt down. Luffy laughed at their reaction, then Luffy watched Zoro and the Bounty hunter duo walk back towards Luffy.

"Good work you three," said Luffy as he rose from his throne and sent him back to the sky. "It seems that your haki observations have increased even further," he said causing the three of them to smile.

"What are you going to do with the others?" Zoro asked as he turned his attention to the other bounty hunters. Luffy smiled and looked at the bounty hunters before he spoke to them.

"I'll give you a choice" Luffy said, surprising the bounty hunters. "You can leave Baroque Works and join me or .. die" Luffy said causing some of them to tremble in fear.

"We will .. we will join you-" BOOM the agents were unable to finish his sentence before something hit him and exploded on contact, which killed him and some other agents in the area around the explosion.

Everyone was confused and afraid of what had just happened. Zoro and the Bounty hunter duo stared at Luffy to see if he did that, but to their surprise, Luffy was as confused as they were.

"It looks like we have another guest" said Luffy quite slowly but could hear his three nuns, then Luffy looked into the alley nearby.

All the faces of the bounty hunters turned white when they saw the couple.

Luffy guessed that these two new people were higher ranked members of Baroque Works who were sent here to help the island. Now Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 9 are up and crawling towards Mr. 8.

"The three of you lost against a few small pirates, now it's very sad," the woman said in a condescending tone as she stared at the three Baroque Works agents.

"Mrs. 5, Ms. Valentine!" Ms. Wednesday said in surprise.

"Hmm, can't do your job," said Mr 5.

"Yahaha! Well, it's obvious because of the difference between our rank and yours," Ms. Valentine scoffed.

"You came here just to laugh at us !?" Mr. 8 asked angrily.

"No, it's just a bonus" said Mr. 5 coldly.

"Yahaha! We're here because of the boss' orders," Ms. Valentine's got Luffy's curiosity.

"Haha! With you here, we can finally defeat them. They have no chance against you" said Mr. 9 as he tremblingly stood up.

"That's right, let's beat it up and show them what Baroque Works can do" Ms said. Wednesday.

"That's right, Ms. Wednesday stopped with this joke. We didn't come here to clean up the mess you guys made" Mr 5 said as he placed his hand in his pocket.

"Do you really think we came all the way to the beginning of the Grand Line just to help you?" Ms. Valentine asked rhetorically. "Oh, you're even more pathetic than you look" he laughed.

"Then, what are you doing here?" Mr. 9 asked in a confused tone. Frankly, Luffy was wondering the same thing.

"You mean you haven't found the answer yet?" Mr. 5 asked as he took a few steps forward. "There are people here whose crimes against the company are quite large, to the point that the boss sent us here to clear them up. He said someone had found out the secret, I don't know what the secret is and I don't want to know either. What is clear is that other people are doing it and it's completely against the rules of the company" he said.

Luffy could sense that Mr. 8 and Ms. Wednesday began to feel nervous and could only guess that they were alone who had learned the secret.

"Our corporate photo is a mystery. Everyone's identity must be kept secret, no matter who they are. If someone is stupid enough to sniff out the boss' business .. well ... it is a crime punishable by death, "he said coldly.

"Well, well, it looks like it's becoming more interesting now" Luffy told Zoro and the bounty hunter duo.

"It seems so," Zoro added as they watched this interaction.

"So, while we were conducting an investigation, about who knew the boss' secret, we found something, Kyahahaha!" Ms. Valentine said as he turned his umbrella.

"It turns out that an inuvial with a high enough position from a certain kingdom managed to infiltrate the Baroque Works," he said, causing Luffy's eyebrows to be raised in shock.

"Kingdom ?!" Mr. 9 screams in shock. "But wait! I may wear a crown but I'm not a king or anything like that, I swear it's just a little hobby that has nothing to do with this" he said begging the couple to believe him.

"Shut up, idiot!" Ms. Valentine screamed in a high voice.

"You still don't understand, we're chasing people from Alabasta. It was them who angered the boss," said Mr 5 who made Luffy even more surprised. At this moment, Mr. 8 was trembling in fear as he stared at the ground.
