Chapter 49's

Laboon narrowed his eyes at Luffy before he jumped out of the water and slammed his head into Luffy. Luffy did not dodge, nor did he let the attack pass him, he simply stood there and accepted it.

When Laboon returned to the water and turned towards him, Luffy covered his fists in Armament Haki before sliding forward and punching Laboon right in the head.

"LUFFY WHAT ARE YOU DOING !?" Shouted Nami and Nojiko. Luffy did not answer everything he did smiling broadly as he and Laboon fought. Laboon then swam away from the Twin Capes for a bit before coming towards Luffy.

Just as he was about to attack, Luffy spoke and stopped him.

"It's a draw," he said causing Laboon to stop in his tracks and stare at Luffy. "I'm much stronger than my forging, but I have a feeling you already know that" he said as he cleaned himself.

"I can always tell when someone wants to fight and if you want to fight, I will gladly give it to you. You used to sparring with your old friend, right?" Luffy asked causing everyone's eyes to widen.

"Well, I can rival anything they can throw at you. Tell you what, after me and my friends have conquered the Grand Line, I will come back here and fight with you," Luffy said causing tears to form in Laboon's eyes. Laboon then looked up at the sky and howled happily once in 50 years.

Crocus looked at the scene with a smile on his face. Luffy then transformed into Lightning and teleported on the ship before reappearing at Laboon's head with a few buckets of paint and a large paint brush.

"Now silent," said Luffy before he began painting Laboon's head. When she was done, a copy of Luffy's jolly roger was drawn on Laboon's head. "Good, right now it's a paint job in such a hurry that you should avoid hitting your head so as not to disappear," he said causing Crocus to smile.

Laboon wailed happily, as if telling Luffy that he would not do it. Luffy then started walking to his crew.

"You're so nice, young man," said Crocus.

"Oh right, I never introduced myself" Luffy said with a laugh. "My name is Monkey D. Luffy, nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand to Crocus.

"I'm Crocus, the lighthouse keeper here at the Twin Capes" he said, shaking Luffy's hand. "Now how do you know Shanks and Rayleigh?" he asked with a smile. Luffy smiled back before he replied.

"I'm a member of Shank's crew" he said as he pulled his shirt which showed him Shanks' jolly roger. "He and Rayleigh taught me Haki" she said before taking a thinking pose.

"Mmm, more like Rayleigh teaching me Haki while Sanks is drunk," he said with a laugh making Crocus laugh as well.

"It's been 10 years since I last saw Red-Hair" he said, surprising Luffy. "I met ten years ago when he came back from East Blue" he said.

"Yes, that's when I joined the crew, but I don't remember seeing Laboon when we came," he said.

"Laboon must have been under banging his head into the Red Line," he said causing Luffy to nod. "Hey Crocus, can you help me?" Luffy asked.

"Of course, after what you've just done for Laboon I'll do anything" he said. Luffy smiled and looked grateful before speaking.

"Great, can you explain how the log pose works on my navigator" he said, pointing to Nami. "I want to do it but I want to change this outfit" she said, looking at her dirty clothes. Crocus smiled at her before he answered.

"Of course," he said before he walked over to Nami.

"Thank you very much" Luffy said before turning to the rest of the crew. "In addition to nami finishing her meal and getting ready, we'll be sailing soon" he said before turning around and starting to walk towards the ship.

"YE CAPTAIN!" they all screamed in unison. Luffy entered his captain's room and began to change his clothes. When he emerged from his private room, he wore the same steel-toed shoes with black cargo pants and instead of his usual red shirt he wore, Luffy wore a slender long-sleeved black shirt that fit snugly with two top buttons apart flaunting a chain necklace with a lightning pendant on his chest.

Outside of the shirt was the captain's coat with a jolly roger on the back covering his shoulders and most interestingly was the famous straw hat on his head.

When Luffy walked out of his private room, he heard a commotion on the side of the ship. Deciding to see what was going on, he walked to the side and saw two people who were trying to kill Laboon kneeling before his crew.

"What's going on here?" Luffy asked in a monotone voice that caught everyone's attention.

"Did they make whiskey there?" he asked excitedly making everyone sweat.

"Umm, no," said the woman, which caused Luffy's smile to disappear.

"Well, I'm not interested" he said before looking at Usopp, Johnny, and Yosaku. "The three of you fix the rudder," Luffy said causing them to salute before running to the ship.

"Please!" The man shouted causing Luffy to look at him with raised eyebrows. "Our ship is destroyed and we have no other way to go home" he said.

"And why is that my problem," Luffy replied coldly causing them to flinch. "You should have thought of that before you tried to kill Laboon," he said before he jumped off the ship and landed next to Nami.

He grabbed his wrist and looked at the log pose before looking at Crocus. "What island does he designate?" She asked. Crocus looked at the log pose before he replied with a sigh.

"Wiskey peak," he said caused the two whalers to get excited.

"Why did you guys get excited" said Luffy as he looked at the two. "I didn't say I was going to take you," he said causing them a bit of disappointment. "Who are you two and what are you doing anyway?" She asked.

"We can't tell you," they said causing Luffy to narrow his eyes at them. "You know mystery is our company motto, and yet, you can call me Mr. 9" said the man with the crown on his head.

"And you can call me Ms. Wednesday," said. Luffy only sighed before he spoke.

"Why can I help you, what's in it for me?" he asked as he looked at them with one eyebrow raised. The two of them seemed to think for a moment before they started whispering amongst themselves before they answered Luffy.

"We've got a lot of gold and money" said Mr 9 causing Nami to get excited and Luffy to smile even though he knew they were lying.

"Alright then, we'll take you," he said causing the two of them to hug each other. Luffy looked at Zoro and secretly gave him a signal to watch over them. Zoro saw this and nodded.

"Captain!" Usopp's screams got everyone's attention. "The car has been repaired!" he said it caused Luffy to nod before turning to his men.

"okay! Pack your things, it's time to sail," he said, causing everyone to take the plates and glasses back to the ship before they all start boarding. Luffy walked over to Laboon and spoke to him.

"I'll leave now Laboon and I promise I'll come back to fight with you one day," causing Laboon to howl happily. "And stop hitting your head or the paint will go away" Luffy said, causing the giant whale to nod.

Luffy then turned to Crocus and shook his hand before he spoke." You take care of yourself and Laboon, Crocus, "said with a smile as he shook his hand.

"And give my regards to the Vice-Captain when you see him" said Crocus.

"Surely," Luffy said before he walked over to his ship. "Nojiko, Zoro," said Luffy to grab their attention. "Guild them both for me," he said as he pointed at Ms. Wednesday and Mr. 9. The two yell when Zoro and Nojiko start tying them up, but Luffy ignores them.

"It's ready, Captain," Nami said as she stood next to Luffy. Luffy nodded before he shouted orders to the crew.

"All right! Johnny, my yosaku, raise the anchor!" his shout caused the two of them to run towards the anchor and start pulling it upwards.

"Nojiko take the wheel, Sanji, Usopp set the screen!" his screams caused the three of them to spread out. Zoro then walked to Luffy with two passengers on his shoulders.

"Where do you want to put them, captain?" She asked. Luffy looked at her as he thought about it for a moment before he replied.

"Throw them there with Nojiko, he can watch them while driving the ship," he said causing Zoro to nod before walking away.

"Now to Whiskey Peak," thought Luffy as he poured himself a drink before walking to his throne and sitting down.
