Chapter 68's

"Zoro come with me, you two help Nami get back to her bed" Luffy said before leaving the room with Zoro right behind him. The two of them walked into the kitchen before they went to the main deck.

When they got there, they saw that the Going Merry was slowly approaching an island in the distance. "Zoro, wake the three of them up," Luffy said causing Zoo to nod her head before she heads to the bedroom to wake Sanji, Gem, and Yosaku.

Luffy then walked to the front of the ship and folded his arms and stared at the island they were slowly approaching.

"Captain, are you sure this is a good idea?" Usopp asked as he walked behind Luffy. "I mean, maybe there's a snow monster in there," said Usopp who was worried about causing Luffy to sweat.

"Come on, Usopp, no snow monster can stand tall against the might of a brave ocean warrior" Luffy said with a grin as he played in Usopp's dream.

"I'm sure Kaya would think anyone who could defeat a snow monster to save his friend's life was a noble warrior," luffy added causing Usopp to show a brave face and he pointed his finger at the sky and shouted.

"Right, no snow monster can stand against Captain Usopp's power!" he shouted causing Luffy to laugh before turning his attention back to the island.

As the ship sailed closer and closer to the island, they all noticed the waterway leading into the island, so they decided to sail there to head inland. Vivi leaves Nami and Nojiko in and out with her duck Karoo, to see if they have arrived.

"Wow, everything is covered in snow," Vivi said in a surprised voice as she looked around.

"Look at those mountains, I've never seen anything like it before" Sanji said as he stared at a series of drum-shaped mountains.

"I think that's why they call it Drum Island" Yosaku said from beside Sanji with a bisento in his hand. After sailing to the waterway for five minutes, the ship stopped at the end of the river.

"It's a melting snow stream, this should be a good place to dock" Luffy said before turning to his crew. "OK, time to find a doctor, who's going?" Luffy asked.

"I'll stay on the ship," Zoro said causing Luffy to nod.

"We're going to stay with Big Bro Zoro" Johnny said, nodding. Seeing no one else saying that they wanted to stay on the ship, Luffy spoke again.

"So, I guess you're all going ashore?" Luffy asked causing all his other crew to nod. Luffy wanted to speak again, but when he was about to open his mouth to speak, a shout from both sides of the waterway, cut him off.

"Only that far can you go, pirate!" a man shouting from the right side of the waterway attracted the attention of all strawhats. As they all looked to the origin of the sound, they saw that they were surrounded by people on both sides of the waterway, who were armed with rifles and all of them were pointed at them. Luffy narrowed his eyes and looked at the group of people.

"I think we've found a local" Sanji said as he lit a new cigarette.

"Yes that's good, but they don't seem too friendly" Usopp said causing Luffy to laugh.

"Well, we're pirates" he replied, watching the men. Then a man dressed in a green jacket stepped forward and spoke.

"I will only say this once, you guys are not welcome here," he said in a commanding voice, which caused Luffy to look at him with an indifferent expression on his face.

"Listen," said Luffy attracting the attention of the man. "We came here just to find a doctor" he said.

"We've got someone who's sick" shouted Vivi trying to help Luffy reassure people.

"You have to do better than that. We won't fall for that old trick!" shouted a man holding a rifle.

"This is our island! We won't let dirty pirates dock here!" another man shouted.

"Thank your anchors and go now! Or we'll blow you and your ship out of the water" shouted a random man who caused Luffy to narrow his eyes.

"Go from here!" a man shouted before he fired his gun at Sanji who was about to hit his leg.

"A big mistake," Sanji said angrily, preparing to attack.

"Don't Sanji, stop!" Shouted Vivi while holding Sanji. As he held onto Sanji, the same man who shot earlier, fired his weapon again. Luffy realized where the bullet was going, he turned his body into lightning and teleported it to Vivi's front and caught the bullet between his index finger and thumb.

"You know, even the buddha lost his temper when provoked for the third time," Luffy said in a deadly tone that caused all the eyes of the locals to widen when they saw him lifting a bullet between his fingers. Everyone then started pointing their weapons at Luffy.

"Luffy, please stop!" Vivi pleads as she releases Sanji and holds onto Luffy. "Fights won't solve anything!" he yelled. Vivi then released Luffy and knelt down and lowered her head causing everyone's eyes to widen in shock.

"Please! We won't come out of the ship, but at least please get a doctor here for us. Our friend is dying of a serious illness! Please, I'm begging you!" Vivi pleads.

"Daughter," Luffy whispered in surprise.

"you're not fit to be captain of this Luffy ship" Vivi said, causing Luffy's crew's eyes to widen in shock. Luffy clenched his fists and gritted his teeth while using every muscle in his body to restrain himself from giving a lightning kick to the princess' head.

"Not everything can be solved by fighting," Vivi added noticing Luffy or the clouds forming in the sky.

"We can't fight here. What about Nami? Think about her," Vivi said causing Luffy to take a deep breath.

"Daughter, you speak as if these people will live long enough to protect themselves" Luffy said in a cold tone, that caused Vivi's eyes to instantly look towards him and look at him in surprise.

"I have no intention of actually fighting here anyway, so .." said Luffy, before turning towards the people who pointed guns at them and doing the unthinkable. Luffy lowered his head.

His entire crew was so shocked, they never expected to see Luffy do something like this. "Please help us, our friend needs you" he said with his head bowed. The man wearing the green jacket stared at him for a few seconds before he spoke.

"I will show you the way to our village" he said as he turned and began walking. "Follow me" he said as he walked away. Luffy raised his head and turned to Sanji.

"Bring Nami," he said, causing Sanji to nod his head before he went inside.

"Look, it's not so ..." Vivi said to Luffy, but stopped when she saw Luffy walking away from her with an annoyed face.

"You're lucky to be alive, Vivi," Usopp said as he looked at her.

"What do you mean?" he asked confusedly.

"You insulted the captain of the ship in front of his crew and then made him bow his head to someone weaker than him, Ms. Wednesday," Gem said as he walked towards Vivi.

"I've seen Luffy kill people for doing a much lighter thing than that" Usopp added.

The loud sound of thunder rang out all over the island and the tremors were felt all the way up the mountains.

"Yep, he's really lucky" Zoro said as he looked at the blazing lightning in the sky.
