Chapter 42's

It was a strange interaction between two groups of pirates if the person on the execution platform was a pirate as well. It was then that a man from the crowd shouted to get everyone's attention.

"HEY!" he shouted as he pointed towards Luffy to get the attention of everyone including Luffy.

"O-The guy .. is a rookie pirate with a bounty of 100 million berries on his head!" he shouted causing everyone's heads to move towards Luffy who was smiling.

"D-he is a Thunder Demon: Straw-Hat Luffy!" he shouted towards Luffy with great fear in his voice. The people around started to feel scared and wonder where the Marine was.

That's when Luffy decided to start the show. He looked up at the sky and above already filled with clouds of lightning, Luffy smiled before walking forward and he stood on the edge and spread his hands wide then he shouted out loud.

"MY NAME IS MONKEY D. LUFFY!" he shouted attracting everyone's attention to him. "AND I AM THE MAN WHO WILL BE KING OF THE PIRATES!" Luffy shouted and used his devil fruit to make lightning thunder in the sky and lightning flashed right behind him as he said that.

Luffy then with his arms stretched out wide looked up at the sky and smiled. The people in the square were very shocked by what they had just heard and witnessed.

"What..?" one civilian said in shock.

"He just said Pirate King ..." The others said in disbelief.

"Especially he said it in this city, it's a crazy thing to say," said another. Just when everyone thought luffy was crazy something strange happened. From the sky filled with dark clouds, a hole opened in the clouds and through the hole, a beam of sunlight shone on the platform and Luffy.

All the mouths of the gaping people saw this. Sanji and Zoro who stood behind the crowd to see what Luffy was doing, gaped and their eyes widened.

Smoker and every marine there was shocked and a little scared of what they saw. Smoker's cigarette even fell from his mouth as he stared at the scene in front of him.

Luffy stood there with both hands spread wide, staring at the sky with a smile while a beam of light pierced through the clouds and illuminated him. This scene was like a spotlight from heaven that shone on Luffy right after he made the declaration that he would become the pirate king.

It was as if he was chosen by the heavens, to be the next Pirate King.

Luffy himself felt puzzled because he did not make the hole for the light to enter and he was also terrified himself seeing this. He glanced at everyone and saw everyone staring at him in disbelief while Buggy and his entire crew knelt down and looked at him in awe.

It was then that understanding came to Luffy's mind, what this entire scene looked like. He could not help but laugh before looking back at the sky and seeing the hole begin to close.

Luffy thought he should add a slightly more dramatic effect to the closure, he made a very loud burst of lightning before the hole closed and the light started to dissipate.

"Shut your mouth or the flies will come in" he said keeping them both out of their confusion.

"Cap ... that was ..." Sanji said in an unclear manner.

"Don't ask me. I'm just as confused as you are," Luffy said to their surprise. "Is everyone ready?" he asked causing Zoro and Sanji to nod. "Well, let's go" he said before they started walking away.

As they walked away, hundreds upon hundreds of Marines stormed the Plaza and surrounded Luffy and every pirate there.

When the Marine appeared, the civilians who were there who were still staring at the platform immediately came to their senses.

"It looks like the Marine really wants to catch you, captain," Sanji said as he lit a cigarette. Luffy and Zoro laughed before Zoro spoke.

"There are at least 1000 marines in this," he said as he stared at their besiegers.

"Yes the entrance to the Grand Line was probably blocked by the Marine Warship," Luffy said with a grin. "Well kids, let's show the marines why they shouldn't mess with us" Luffy said as he stared at the group of marines in front of him.

"Electro-murder!" Luffy said as he extended his hand in front of him. From his fingertips, ten electric ropes came out and wrapped around the nearest ten marines before they continued to run from the first ten marines tied behind them and still spread to their sides.

When it stopped, the technique left 50 marines bound and screaming in pain. Luffy then raised the voltage and left it for two seconds before he stopped the technique, which caused 50 marines to fall to the ground dead.

Luffy looked back to see how Zoro and Sanji were doing. The first he saw was a giant tornado made of wind that threw the marine into the air. When the tornado disappeared, Luffy saw Zoro standing in the middle with all three of his swords drawn.

Then suddenly out of nowhere the body of a marine hit the body of Luffy who surprised him while electrocuting the already unconscious marine. Luffy looked over to see where he came from and saw Sanji spinning using his hand kicking Marine all over the place.

"Hey! Look where you kicked your enemy!" Luffy yells.

"Sorry, Captain," Sanji said with a nervous laugh.

"Come on, go" he said before the three of them started running.
