Chapter 84's

The Going Merry currently sailed quietly through the Sandora River towards Eremalu. Luffy is currently on the upper back deck (in the part of the lime tree) with Ace and Zoro, looking out towards the sea.

Johnny and Yosaku are currently at the guard posts watching the surroundings, Nojiko is guarding the steering wheel, Nami and Vivi are on the back deck with Luffy and the others, looking at the map, while Usopp, who is, Chopper, and Vivi's pet duck, Karoo is on the main deck drinking and laughing amongst themselves. Luffy turned around and looked at Vivi, then started walking towards her before she spoke.

"So, why are we going to Eremalu?" luffy said, dancing the attention of Vivi and Nami.

"We are currently on the Sandora River. We will use this river to get to Eremalu where we will dock, then proceed to Yuba on foot," he said causing Luffy to nod.

"You're going to Yuba?" Ace asked, drawing their attention.

"Right, what's up?" Luffy asked with a curious expression on his face.

"That's my goal too. It was the last place where Teach was seen," Ace said causing Luffy to smile and nod his head. "You don't mind if I come now, do you?" Ace asked with a smile, causing Luffy to chuckle.

"of course, you can come along, you idiot," Luffy said with a grin before he turned around and looked at Vivi and spoke again. "By the way, princess, what's in Yuba?" Luffy asked.

"Yuba is the main base of the rebel forces. I know the rebel leader, if we can get there and tell them about Crocodile, I'm sure we can stop this war" Vivi said with a hopeful expression on her face. Luffy smiled at her before she spoke again.

"Don't worry princess, we will end this war," Luffy said with a smile causing Vivi to smile as well. The ship continued sailing on the Sandora River about an hour before Vivi walked towards Nami, who was standing in front of the ship, and asked her questions.

"Nami, can we stop the ship for a second?" Vivi asked while holding some paper in her hand, which caused Nami to look at her strangely.

"For what?" Nami asked while looking at Vivi.

"I have a very important mission for Karoo" he said as he turned and looked at the big duck. Nami and Vivi then go and ask Luffy if it's okay, Luffy easily approves and gives the order to the other crew to stop the ship near the riverbank, so Vivi can do what she needs to do.

When the ship docked on the banks of the Vivi, Karoo, Nami, Nojiko, and Sanji got off the ship, while the others looked at them from the ship.

"This is all the information I and Igaram have gathered about Baroque Works and Crocodile. I want you to go to Alubarna Palace and send this letter to my father" Vivi said as she stared at the giant duck.

"The message was also to let him know that I had returned to Alabasta accompanied by brave friends who were willing to help us in our struggle," add Vivi before putting the papers into Karoo's bag.

"Now make sure to conserve your water and use it to the best of your ability" he added before patting the head of the giant duck. The duck then saluted Vivi, then she ran very quickly towards Alubarna.

"All right! Everyone, get back on the ship and sail!" Luffy shouted before he turned around and walked back to his usual location on the boat, and sat down on his throne. It took another two hours before they finally reached Eremalu.

When the ship docked, the girls came out of their rooms with a new set of clothes covering their entire bodies that had previously been wearing belly dancer clothes that showed quite a lot of skin.

Upon seeing this Sanji began to complain causing Luffy to laugh at his behavior. Nojiko then walked over to Luffy carrying two sets of folded clothes in his hand and handed them to Ace and Luffy.

"You two should wear this," he said, handing over clothes more suitable for use in the desert. "We don't want you two to get sunburned right" he added with a smile.

Ace picked up the clothes and directly used them on the spot, while Luffy walked into his personal space. When Luffy entered his private room, his clouds followed into the room.

Luffy threw the shirt from Nojiko onto his bed, then he grabbed down his bed and took out a crate containing all his Devil Fruit.

"Let's put you in a safe place while I'm gone" Luffy told himself, then he lifted the crate and dropped it into the clouds. The crate slowly sank inward before disappearing within the clouds.

Luffy then took off his captain's coat and kept it in the clouds as well before he put on the clothes Nojiko had given him. When Luffy walked out of his private room, he wore a dark red desert robe with a pattern of three white rings on both arms and a light blue hoodie on top of his head.

you can still see his black shirt under the red cloak cover with his lightning necklace visible. After exiting his room, Luffy sent his lightning cloud flying into the sky above the ship before he locked the door behind him and walked to the main deck.

"Good," Luffy replied before he looked around and saw all his crew were already dressed and preparing to go ashore. "Let's go" he said before turning around to jump off the ship.

As he was about to jump from ship to shore, several creatures jumped out of the water and landed on the beach which shocked everyone.

"What kind of creature is that?" Usopp asked as they all saw the strange creature. They are dugong-like creatures with turtle shells on their backs.

"That's a Kung-Fu dugong!" Vivi shouted with a panicked expression on her face. The little creature then began to speak to the crew in its own language confusing everyone.

"If you want to go ashore you must defeat me first you coward!" Chopper said causing everyone to stare at him confusedly. "That's how he said," Chopper added calmed all their confusion. Luffy then sighed and spoke.

"We don't have time for this" he said before flicking his finger which caused a lightning strike to burst out from the cloudless sky and snatched Kung-Fu Dugong which made them all faint.

"Well, it cleared up all this," Zoro added before jumping off the ship. Everyone nodded in agreement with him before jumping off the ship as well. They begin to walk across the desert with Vivi leading them, with Luffy, Ace, and Sanji at the back and the others in the middle.

The group walked through the desert for about 30 minutes before they arrived at a remote, sand-covered town.

"What's going on here?" Nami asked as she looked around the collapsed building and the dry tree. It was as if it looked like some sandstorm was passing through here and sucking up life in the city.

"Is this Yuba?" Chopper asked while looking at the desert city.

"No, this is Eremalu. It used to be known as Green City," he said in a sad voice before turning around and looking at the crew. "Take a good look at everything, this is what the Baroque Works have done in my country, this is what the Alabastans have to go through," vivi's words made everyone except Luffy and Ace show sad expressions on their faces.

Luffy and Ace showed no reaction as both of them had seen a much worse one from the world. The group then began to walk through the ghost town quietly while listening to Vivi explain Eremalu's history and the use of powder dance that led to the civil war.

They walked for another thirty minutes before making it out of Eremalu ghost town and were now on their way to Yuba.

The entire crew walked for an hour under the scorching sun while passing through various hills. The entire crew looked like they were about to fall dead in the desert. Of them all, Chopper's worse because he's a deer. She had already fainted from the heat, which caused Luffy to carry her on his shoulder.

"Luffy, can't you fly us there!" Usopp asked in a pleading voice.

"Yes, Luffy," Nami said as she looked at their captain. "Can't you call your clouds to fly us there?" he asked causing Luffy to sigh.

"No," he answered, confusing them all. "There wasn't enough moisture in the air to support the clouds, and if I called out to him, the clouds would only disappear shortly after I called," Luffy said causing them all to groan.

"Plus, even if I could call one, I wouldn't do it" added Luffy causing them all to stare at him with faces betrayed.

"But why?" Nojiko asked.

"That's your punishment," Luffy said causing them all to stare at him with confusion written on their faces. "This is your punishment for what happened in Little Garden," he said causing expressions of consciousness to appear all over their faces.

"I still don't understand why we're being punished for it" Nami grumbled.

"Maybe it's because I've taught you all Haki and you have eight and your enemies only two, but you're still caught" Luffy added, raising his voice slightly caused all of them to look down and remain silent.

"Now stop all your arguments and save our energy, we still have a trip to travel and the sun won't set anytime soon" he added before focusing on the trip ahead of them.

Ace just looked at his sister with a smile.
