Chapter 142's

The crew had sailed for about three days since they arrived back in the Blue Sea. Luffy was currently standing in front of the ship wearing black slim fit suit pants with a pair of shoes that looked quite expensive which seemed to be made from a kind of animal skin that allowed him to shine in the sun.

He also wore a black silk buttoned shirt with two buttons open revealing his lightning necklace and hanging on his shoulder was his captain's coat fluttering in the wind.

The most striking difference about Luffy was the fact that he did not tie his sword to his waist as he normally would, but he had a golden stick in his right hand that he got from Enel.

The crew is currently scattered throughout the ship doing their own duties. Sanji was in the kitchen preparing lunch, Robin was in the kitchen with him, but she was reading a book.

Usopp was on the back deck sitting on the floor with his equipment and a few dials trying to fit him into Clima-tact Nami, Chopper sat not far from Usopp making medicine to replenish his supplies.

Zoro was also on the back deck with the two of them but he trained by swinging a large barbell. Nami was sitting on the main deck on the beach chair while reading the newspaper while Nojiko was on top of the watchtower to keep an eye on.

"Land Hoo!" Nojiko shouted from the watchtower while holding the binoculars. His voice caught the attention of everyone on board, and everything stopped what they were doing to come and see the island.

"It's still quite far away," Luffy said as he leaned against his cane. "I can barely see it," he added as some crew joined him in front of the ship.

"It looks like there's fog all around her," Nojiko said making her sister a little worried.

"Choppers! Keep the steering wheel on guard just in case we find a problem," Nami told the small deer that caused her to turn into a heavy point model and run to the wheel.

"It's still quite a distance away and we need a while to get there with this kind of wind" Luffy said as he turned around and looked at the screen.

The Going Merry sailed forward slowly for about two and a half hours before they arrived at the edge of the fog surrounding the island.

As they sailed through the fog, the entire crew was a little uneasy from seeing the strange ship before, it had no sails or flags and only had five people on board.

When Merry finally made it through the fog and arrived at the island there was nothing but grass and trees as far as the eye could see.

"It seems uninhabited," Robin commented while looking at the island.

"As far as the eye can see, this is just grass and trees" Luffy said as he stared at the beautiful scenery. "It's like a blank slate, completely untouched by humans" he added.

"Why are we still standing?" Usopp asked as he climbed to the side of the ship. "Let's go!" he shouted before jumping off the ship with Chopper following behind him.

"Hey! Don't just jump!" Nami scolded but the two did not notice her. "They don't know what danger is" he said with a sigh and shook his head.

"You're too worried, Ms. Navigator," Robin said before he went down. Luffy only chuckled before he also jumped off Merry. When Luffy landed on the island his attention was immediately fixed to the right where he saw a white bear walking upright, but the only difference was that this bear was very long.

"What what the fuck?" Luffy asked himself as he stared at the bear path across the prairie.

"Hey, Luffy!" Usopp shouted while holding the red fruit with one bite. "Look at how long this apple is," he said, surprising his captain.

"Truly a strange place," Luffy commented before he walked forward to one of the trees and used a lightning strike to knock an apple off a long tree. Chopper, Usopp, and Nojiko head off into the distance to check out a house they saw, leaving Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, and Robin.

Luffy had just dropped a few apples from the tree before sitting at the base of the tree eating them while staring at the strange beasts present on this island.

"It's really a strange place" Nami comments as Sanji jumps from Merry followed by Zoro.

"How long are we gonna stay here, Captain?" Nami asked as she walked towards Luffy.

"Captain, we have a guest," Robin suddenly said, causing Luffy to look at her. When he turned his head, he saw a large galleon sailing behind Merry with the flag of the great pirate emblem on its mast.

The ship stops just behind Merry and releases two large claws that serve as anchors allowing him to lock Merry up completely.

"It looks like they are looking for trouble" Zoro said as he placed his hand on his sword.

"We are the infamous Foxy Pirates!" someone on the boat shouted. "We want more than just a fight from you! We want showdown!" their words caused Luffy to raise an eyebrow towards them.

"Why do idiots always throw their lives away for granted," Luffy said with a sigh and continued to sit under the tree with a bored expression on his face.

"Fuehfehfehfeh!" someone laughing to the left of Luffy caught his attention. "I'm Foxy, the captain of the Foxy Pirates hereby challenges you to the Davy Back Fight!" a short man with a strange hairstyle said causing Luffy to raise eyebrows.

"Who are you?" Luffy asked while looking at the man.

"You don't know who I am?" the man asked sounded a bit sick until Luffy shook his head.

"Not at all," Luffy replied as he shook his head causing the man to fall down with his hands and knees then started sulking.

"He doesn't know who I am" he said in an agitated voice as the three crew members standing beside him tried to comfort him.

"What does he mean by Davy's back fight?" Nami asked with a confused expression on her face.

"It was basically a sporting competition between pirate crews where pirates could take wanted members from other pirate crews," Robin enlightened those who had no idea.

"A pirate crew with only 8 members" Foxy said as he stood up. "What a bunch of weak people," he said arrogantly causing Luffy to raise an eyebrow at him before he stood up from his sitting position.

"Umm, captain!" a member of Foxy's crew screams for the captain's attention. "That's The Thunder Demon !" the man's shout caused many people to gasp in shock.

"He's the one who beat Crocodile!" he continued. Upon hearing this, a slightly frightened expression appeared on Foxy's face.

"No problem!" Foxy said as she cleared her throat trying to hide the fact that she was intimidated by Luffy. "I'll still beat you and your pathetic crew!" he stated causing Luffy to sigh and shake his head. Before anyone could say anything, Nojiko's voice caught everyone's attention.

"Hey! Captain!" he screamed to get all their attention. When they turned their heads, they saw Nojiko, Usopp, and Chopper walking towards them, but the thing that caught everyone's attention was what Nojiko had in hand.

Nojiko held two severed heads which, when seen from the strange masks they wore around their eyes, were the crew of the Foxy Pirates.

"These people attacked a good old man we just met, so we killed them," Nojiko said casually as he threw both heads forward.

"M-they killed Capote and Pickles!" the crew on board screamed in horror as they stared at the severed heads of their comrades.

Luffy simply looked back at Foxy and channeled the power of lightning into his golden wand that changed shape into a trident before he spoke.

"Well, that's a pity," Luffy said in a bored tone as he turned his attention to Foxy.

Panicked, the captain of the Foxy pirates launches an attack on Luffy before he can attack him.
