Chapter 17's

Luffy and his crew are currently sailing on the Going Merry towards the floating restaurant that Luffy has heard of. It was rumored that there were many cooks who could fight and in Luffy's mind, that was what he needed.

Luffy was currently sitting behind the ship on top of his throne that he had made from a cloud of lightning. He sat there with a glass of whiskey in it, watching all the members of his crew busy with their respective activities. Zoro was practicing, Usopp was standing not far from Luffy setting up a cannon ready for testing, and Nami was lying on the beach seat behind Luffy reading a book about navigation.

Luffy stared at the main mast of the ship and smiled looking at his pirate flag with the Jolly roger he made, fluttering proudly. His Jolly roger is a skull-shaped mask of a Japanese hannya wearing a straw hat with two lightning symbols replacing the bones on the usual pirate symbol.

Luffy also had Usopp paint a larger version of his jolly roger on the ship's sail, which could scare his enemies into seeing it from a distance. Luffy then turned towards Usopp and spoke.

"Hey Usopp" he said, drawing Usopp's attention. "Is it ready?" She asked. Usopp smiled widely before he replied.

"Yes, everything is ready" Usopp said before he made a silly pose and started talking again. "Just give me a target and I'll show you what a great Captain Usopp can do!" he said proudly causing Luffy to sigh and take a sip of whiskey before replying. Luffy looked into the distance and saw a giant rock on the right side of the ship.

"Look over there," Luffy said as he pointed to the giant rock. "I want you to shoot that rock" he said. Usopp looked towards the rock and started aiming at the cannon. Luffy could see her sweating a little but said nothing. Usopp aimed and fired a cannon.

The cannonball floated in the air before colliding with the rock and making it shatter into pieces. Luffy smiled when he saw Usopp hit his target, he was a sniper like his father.

All Luffy had to do was make him stop acting like a coward. "Good work, Usopp," said Luffy congratulating him. Usopp turned to Luffy and smiled and made another silly pose before he spoke.

"You can only expect the best from the great Captain Usopp!" he announced proudly. Luffy shook his head before he looked at Zoro and shouted.

"Zoru!" he shouted attracting Zoro's attention. "Can you come here for a moment" he said before looking at Nami and speaking again. "You're also Nami, too" he said causing Nami to close her book and walk towards Luffy. When everyone arrived, Luffy stuffed his hand into the clouds where he was sitting and took out three bags that clearly had something in them.

"What's with this bag, Captain?" Zoro asked.

"I think it's time to give you all a share of Kuro's bounty," said Luffy making Nami's eyes turn into a belly mark. "Kuro's bounty is 16 million and the four of us. So, 4 million per person," Luffy said as he handed the bag over to each of them.

Usopp thanked Luffy and so did Nami, after thanking him, Nami immediately hugged the bag of money, which caused the three people around her to look at him funny. When Luffy handed the bag to Zoro, he picked it up before speaking to Luffy.

"Umm, can you hold my share, for now, Captain?" he asked as he returned the money to Luffy. Luffy nodded and took the money and returned it to the clouds.

Usopp then returns Luffy's money and asks the same thing as Zoro, which Luffy agrees to and then looks towards Nami to see if he wants Luffy to keep it as well. Nami shook her head excitedly to say no. Luffy simply shrugged before he spoke in a serious voice once again.

"Just so we're clear" luffy said, gaining the attention of his crew. "It's probably one of the few times I'm going to share the Bounty with you guys," Luffy said puzzling Nami and Usopp.

"What do you mean Luffy?" Nami asked.

"As I told Zoro, the treasure we find and take from other pirates or marines will be shared equally among the crew. However, whatever bounty we get from beating someone with a reward in their head is the property that beats that person," Said Luffy got a nod from Usopp and a frown from Nami whom he ignored.

Luffy then stood up causing a cloud of lightning to rise into the sky before he started walking towards the kitchen. "I'm hungry, let's eat" he said causing all his crew to follow behind him.

Upon entering the kitchen Luffy sat down at the table and filled his glass before he turned towards Zoro and spoke. "How much food is left?" She asked. Zoro walked to the fridge and looked inside before he replied.

"We have leftovers for about two days" he said. Luffy nodded his head before he turned towards Nami.

"How long until we reach the restaurant?" She asked. Nami looked out and looked at the map before she answered Luffy's question.

"We'll get there in a few hours if the wind keeps blowing" he said. Luffy took a sip of his drink before speaking.

"Well, it looks like we're going to be okay," he said, getting a nod from everyone. "If we don't get the chef from that floating restaurant, we'll fill up the food stock there before we continue sailing" Luffy said. Before anyone could say anything, they all heard a loud noise outside and a man shouted.

"Get out, you fucking pirates!" a man shouted from the outside startling the crew. Luffy stood up and walked out of the kitchen to see who thought it was a good idea to attack his ship. When he opened the door and looked at the deck, he saw a very angry man holding a sword staring at him.

"And now you think you can kill my partner!" he shouted while swinging his sword to cut Luffy in half. Luffy easily saw the swing coming and dodged from the swing of the sword.

However, the moment he stepped away, the man's sword hit one of the ship's fences effectively damaging it and it irritated Luffy. Luffy teleported in front of the man, and Luffy's actions took the man by surprise before he clasped his head and threw him across the ship so he bumped into the captain's room wall.

Luffy stared at the upper deck and saw Zoro walking towards the edge of the fence to see who Luffy was fighting. Zoro looked at the man and his eyes instantly widened, causing Luffy to raise an eyebrow looking at Zoro's reaction. Before Luffy could question him about it Zoro spoke.

"Johnny, is that you?" Zoro asked as he looked at the man now named Johnny with a surprised look on his face. "Where is Yosaku?" Zoro asks again before the man, Johnny, can answer the first question. Johnny looked at Zoro from his position on the floor to see who was calling his name.

As he looked at Zoro, he immediately got up and spoke to Zoro.

"Zoro Aniki !?" he yelled /quired. "Why are you on a pirate ship?" he asked again. Zoro sighed before speaking again.

"Are you able to calm down for a moment" Zoro said as he began walking down the stairs. "Where is Yosaku?" Zoro asked again. Johnny then starts crying before he runs to the side of the ship causing Luffy and Zoro to follow him. Then they got there they saw a man lying on a small boat, looking sick.

"He's sick" Johnny said. Zoro sighed, then he turned towards Luffy who only nodded at Zoro before walking away. Zoro then returned to Johnny and spoke.

"Bring him up," Zoro said to Johnny which caused him to nod quickly, When Johnny jumped off the ship going merry to bring his friend, Luffy spoke to Zoro.

"Do you seem to know these two people?" Luffy asked as he sat in the nearby barrel. Zoro sighed and walked over to Luffy before he spoke.

"Yes, I met them some time ago while I was still a Bounty hunter," he said causing Luffy to nod his head. "They're good people" Zoro said as he watched Johnny drag Yosaku's body onto the ship. Zoro then walked up to them and spoke. "Why did he get to be like this?" She asked.

"A few days ago, he was still healthy and fit. And now he's passed out and pale a lot" said Johnny, very emotionally. Nami and Usopp had just arrived next to Luffy and Zoro on the deck of the ship, when Johnny explained what was wrong with Yosaku.

"So, I thought maybe we should rest on a small island, but then a cannonball was fired from this ship," he said, causing Luffy and Usopp's eyes to widen. Luffy slightly laughed nervously before he spoke.

"Yes, I'm sorry about that" Luffy said as he stood up from the barrel and walked over to Johnny while ignoring Usopp's quick apology. "Don't worry about your friend," Luffy said causing Zoro and Johnny to stare at him, waiting for him to explain what he meant by that.

Luffy then turned towards Usopp and gave the order. "Go to the kitchen and bring all the oranges we have," he said, causing Usopp to nod his head quickly before he ran into the kitchen.

"What did my Jesus suffer?" Johnny asked Luffy. Luffy turned towards her and was about to speak but Nami preceded him.

"He's suffering from Scurvy," he said making Johnny look towards Luffy to see his reaction, and Luffy just nodded. When Usopp returned, Luffy had him squeeze orange juice in Yosaku's mouth. Usopp immediately squeezed the orange while Luffy returned to sit on the previous barrel.

"Scurvy is caused by a lack of plant-derived nutrients such as vitamin C" Luffy said. "You and your friend are two morons," said Luffy surprising Zoro, Usopp, and Johnny while Nami just nodded her head in agreement.

"Every sailor should know about scurvy before they leave for the sea, moron," said Luffy, who caused Johnny to look down in embarrassment. "But don't worry your friend will live" he said causing Johnny and Zoro to smile brightly.

Just as Luffy finished speaking, Yosaku surged into a sitting position before looking around him trying to figure out where he was. When his eyes were on Johnny, he smiled and got up and started dancing with Johnny.

"I'm cured!" Yosaku screamed as he and Johnny danced. Luffy sighed and looked towards Nami and nodded. Nami then slams the two of them over the head and starts scolding them about scurvy not being able to heal that fast. When Nami scolded them, Yosaku fainted again. Luffy sighed and looked towards Zoro.

"Bring her inside so she can rest," said Luffy to get a nod from Zoro. Luffy then walked back to the back of the deck and summoned his crowd's throne again and sat down. Johnny, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp soon joined Luffy at the back of the ship.

Luffy then turned towards Nami and asked a question. "How long until we get there?" She asked. Nami looked in front of the ship and replied.

"It looks less than an hour away" he said, pointing into the distance in front of the ship.
