Chapter 20's

Luffy just stood there watching the interaction with an emotionless expression on his face while waiting for the pirate to answer his question. When the pirate finished eating Luffy decided to remind him of his question.

"You still haven't answered my question, pirate," he said, drawing the attention of the foreign pirate. The man looked at Luffy for a moment before he replied.

"I'm sorry, my name is Gin or better known as Gin 'Man-Demon'. I am the right-hand man of Admiral Don-krieg the great pirate" he said proudly.

"Never heard of it," Luffy said clearly causing Sanji and Gin's eyes to widen.

"What do you mean you don't know who Don Kriege is !?" Sanji yells / asks and gets a nod from Gin. Luffy only shrugged as he replied.

"As I said, I've never heard of it," said Luffy getting a look of disbelief from the two of them. Luffy then turned towards Sanji and spoke once more.

"If I don't get your name wrong Sanji, right?" Luffy asked, getting a nod from Sanji, "Good .. I want you to join my crew," Luffy said to Sanji's surprise.

"While the offer sounds interesting, I must refuse. I owe the owner this place and I haven't been able to repay him" he said. Luffy looked at her with a bored expression on his face and then spoke again.

"I reject your refusal" Luffy said causing Sanji's mouth to gap due to Luffy's statement. Sanji was about to yell at Luffy but Gin spoke before he could.

"I'm sorry" said Gin, drawing Luffy's attention. "Are you a pirate?" He asked, getting a nod from Luffy. "And what's your dream if you don't mind me asking?" Gin asked, getting a confused look from Sanji while thinking what the purpose of this man's question was.

"Conquering the Grand Line, finding One Piece and becoming the Pirate King," Luffy said indifferently.

"okay ... Let me give you a suggestion as someone who's been to the Grand Line," said Gin getting an amused look from Luffy and a curious look from Sanji. "Stay away from that place. All 50 of our fleet went in there and only lasted a week before our entire fleet was destroyed by one man" Gin surprised Sanji and caused Luffy to laugh before replying.

"That means you guys are too weak to sail on the Grand Line," said Luffy, getting an annoyed look from Gin. Before Gin could speak, Luffy cut him off and spoke first.

"It doesn't matter how many ships you have and how many crews you command. Only the strongest could survive, and I knew it was because I came from the Grand Line," Luffy said causing the two people nearby to gap in shock .

"You're from the Grand Line?" Gin asked and Luffy simply nodded, "So like that .. I guess you'll be much more prepared than us," Gin said sadly. Luffy didn't say anything, he just went back to the restaurant. When he opened the door to re-enter the restaurant, he turned towards Sanji and spoke.

"I won't leave here until you join my crew, Sanji," he said as he walked inside, closing the door behind him before Sanji could answer.

When he returned to his crew, he saw they were still eating so he decided to join them and finish his meal.

About four hours had passed since Luffy spoke to Gin and Sanji. At the moment, Luffy and his crew are sitting at the same table, drinking and conversing to get to know each other better.

Luffy told his crew that he would not leave here without Sanji, so they would be there until Sanji joined. As the crew sat there, chatting with each other, a huge shadow covered the restaurant and attracted everyone's attention.

A customer stood up from their table and looked out the window to see what cast a shadow over the restaurant. When a customer looked out the window, his entire body began to tremble and an extremely frightened expression could be seen on his face.

The man started to retreat from the window in fear before starting to stutter.

"I-it .. that's Sabre Dreadnaught ... That's Don Krieg's ship!" he shouted before he ran back to his desk. After he said that, everyone in the restaurant started to panic.

Luffy just sat there watching the chaos unfold. Suddenly the doors of the restaurant opened wide and the one standing there was Gin with a man who looked like he was dying leaning on his shoulders.

Gin dragged himself and the man to the restaurant and started asking for food and water.

"Please bring us food and water!" Gin pleads while barely able to lift the man beside him, the man Luffy assumed as Don Krieg. "We have money" he said, pleading with restaurant staff.

To say the chefs and customers in the restaurant were shocked was the wrong word. Their eyes widen and their jaws hang. The only people whose faces had no emotions were Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and restaurant owner Zeff.

The rest of Luffy's crew were just as surprised as the other customers. Then suddenly Krieg fell face down on the floor causing Gin to beg again. When that happens, Luffy notices Sanji going towards the kitchen.

Patty then refused to give her food and water, which led to other chefs also starting to comment on how dangerous Krieg was. Don Krieg then did the unthinkable for Luffy, he kowtowed and started asking the chefs for food.

Gin tries to stop him and begs him to raise his head, but Krieg does not listen to Gin, instead he keeps asking for food, he even to the point of asking for leftovers for himself. Next up is Luffy hearing Sanji's voice.

"Hey, move aside Patty," Sanji said before kicking Patty in the face and making her fly and hit the wall. Sanji then walked towards Gin and Don Kreig and placed a bowl of food and a bottle of sake in front of him.

"It's something for your captain" he said as he placed the bowl on the floor. Kreig then began to eat the food using his bare hands like a wild animal. One of the chefs then ran down the stairs and yelled at Sanji to pick up the food in front of Kreig but Sanji did nothing, he just stood there looking towards the chef with a flat expression on his face.

Kreig then slams the bottle of sake onto the floor and jumps to his feet before he punches Sanji and gets him bounced in the air. The people at the restaurant who saw this started running out, leaving the chefs and Luffy's crew inside with Don Kreig.

Luffy then sensed something with his true observation, which made him smile before he turned towards his crew and spoke.

"Hey, go move the ship to the other side of the restaurant. We're going to have more guests" said Luffy, prompting Nami, Usopp, Johnny, and Yosaku to run outside to move the ship away from him and Zoro at the restaurant.

Luffy then turned his attention back to Kreig.

"It's a very nice ship, I'll gladly accept it" Kreig said with a sinister expression on his face. "As you can see, my ship is wrecked. Of course, I'm gonna need a new one. After some minor chores, every one of you must leave this ship" he said, causing one of the chefs to protest.

"What's? I won't!" one of the random cooks shouted, but Kreig paid no heed to it.

"There are about 100 people left on my ship. All were weak from hunger and many were seriously injured. If you value the life you have, you better prepare food and water for all my crew" he said.

"You're telling us to feed our enemies? Did you ever think how stupid that thing you just said was? We refuse!" Patty said.

"I didn't ask you, I told you to do it," Kreig said making all the chefs tremble in fear while Luffy just kept quiet. Sanji then goes up and announces that he will cook for 100 people and starts walking towards the kitchen but is stopped by all the chefs by pointing the big knives and forks they have at him and start accusing him as a spy for Kreig.

The cannonball floated in the air at incredible speed before colliding with Kreig and creating an explosion in the restaurant. The chefs started celebrating their victory but were instantly silenced by the sound of Kreig coming out from within the smoke.

"Are you a chef or a comedian? Because your jokes aren't funny" Kreig said, scaring all the chefs and surprising Luffy a little. When the smoke disappeared, everyone saw Kreig standing there in a golden-coloured armor with a weapon coming out of his shoulder along with two pistols in his hand.

He then pointed his weapon at a group of chefs and shouted. "Death!" he shouted as he fired his weapon. "You chefs shouldn't have opposed me, I'm the strongest person in the world!" Krieg shouted arrogantly. Luffy wanted to laugh out loud hearing her remark about being the strongest person in the world but held her back.

Luffy then heard someone's footsteps, Luffy turned around, looked up the stairs and saw Zeff carrying a large sack walking down the stairs and heading towards Kreig. Zeff placed the large sack in front of Kreig and spoke.

"This sack contains about 100 servings of food. Now, take it all to your crew" said Zeff in a serious voice.

"Possessor Zeff, what are you doing !?" shout /ask all the other chefs simultaneously. Kreig, on the other hand, looked very surprised.

"You're Zeff's Red Leg," whispered Kreig causing Luffy's eyes to widen.

'I thought his name sounded familiar!' Luffy thought in his heart. Zeff then walked away from Kreig and returned to stand with the chefs.

"Possessor Zeff, why are you doing that?" one of the cooks asked. "If his men regain their strength, they'll kill us!" the chef shouted in a frightened voice.

"It's only if they still have the will to fight," Zeff said before he turned around and looked at Kreig. "Tell me, did your will(will) also survive defeat?" Zeff asked Kreig causing all the chefs to look at Kreig in disbelief.

"Even a pirate crew of 50 ships can't reach the Grand Line?" Patty asked in disbelief. However Kreig only stared at Zeff for a moment before he spoke.

"That's you, right? You're Red-Foot Zeff," he said once again. "So, you're alive, an unrivalled pirate captain who is also a ship's chef" Krieg said.

"It's true I'm alive, but what does this have to do with you?" Zeff asked a question that Luffy also wanted to know. "I've stopped being a pirate for years now. I chose life as a chef" Zeff said, making Kreig start laughing before he spoke.

"Choosing a life as a chef huh, hahaha. You don't have a parent's choice. You chose to live as a chef because the only thing you can do now is to be a chef" Kreig said, pointing to Zeff's wooden legs. Kreig then went on to tell the legend of The Red Foot Zeff for everyone to hear.

"Let's stop berbrol and just say straight to the point. What do you want from me?" Zeff asked causing Don Kreig to grin evilly at him before he answered.

"You're the one who's been wading through the treacherous sea of the Grand Line and returned unscathed," Kreig said causing everyone including Luffy to stare at Zeff with shocked expressions on their faces.

"There should be a notebook writing down your tactics, a whole year of your journey there. Give it to me," Kreig said, making Luffy squint his eyes.

"Yes the book is there for me, but I will never hand it over to someone like you" Zeff said, causing Kreig to look at his face in annoyance. "That travel book is the pride of the crew who have sailed with me. It's far too important to give to someone like you" Zeff said.

Luffy could understand why Zeff was unwilling to hand over the book especially if Zeff's friends had been killed in an accident that also took his leg. It was an extremely precious treasure to a good captain, and it was impossible to be handed over to anyone else.

"Then I'll take it," Kreig said taking Luffy out of his mind. "Yes, it is true that the Grand Line has defeated me. But, I will never give up because I am Don Kreig! It's just another ocean. I have many men, enough weapons, and enough ambition. Unfortunately, my only flaw is information, but now I will fix all of it. Once I have your travel book, I will form another pirate fleet and find the legendary One Piece! " Kreig's Shout caused everyone to fall silent.

The silence was broken by the sound of laughter which caused everyone to stare towards the laughing Luffy, as he began to rise from his seat.

"Geez, that was the funniest thing I've heard in a while" Luffy said as he stood up from his seat and looked at Kreig. "You think having a travel book means you'll survive the Grand Line? Don't make me laugh" Luffy said as he walked into the middle of the restaurant standing between the chefs and Kreig.

"It doesn't matter how many people or ships you have, and it doesn't matter how much information you have about the Grand Line. It doesn't mean anything if you are weak. And you Kreig belongs to the weak category" Luffy said causing all chefs including Zeff's eyes to widen upon hearing Luffy's statement.

Kreig looked on in annoyance as there was a boy who dared to call him weak.

"You think who you are, boy" Kreig asked in a threatening voice that made some chefs tremble in fear. Luffy was about to respond but before he could Gin speak.

"Don Kreig," said Gin, "He's the pirate I told you about. He came from the Grand Line," Gin said making everyone look at Luffy in awe. Kreig looked at Luffy for a while and was about to speak but Luffy spoke before he opened his mouth.

"I mean, come on Kreig you can't even stay on the Grand Line for a week and now you think that you can conquer the Grand Line and find One Piece? That's right," said Luffy as he started walking towards Kreig.

When Luffy was within Kreig's reach, he tried to punch Luffy with a glove that had a large diamond. Luffy saw it coming and caught Kreig's fist with his left hand causing Kreig's eyes to widen, Before Kreig could fire one of his weapons, Luffy lifted Kreig into the air and slammed him to the floor while still holding his fist.

"Don Kreig!" Gin shouted as he looked at his captain lying on the floor staring at Luffy in disbelief. Luffy looked at Gin and spoke.

"Don't worry, Gin. I'm not going to kill him" he said to everyone's surprise. "He was a victim of Hawk-Eye," Luffy said, causing Gin's eyes to widen in fear along with Kreigs. Luffy released Kreig and sat down next to Zoro before he spoke to Kreig again.

"I suggest you feed your men immediately because he'll be here in a while," Luffy said causing Zoro to look at the door excitedly.

"You shouldn't disturb her nap, '" Luffy added before sipping whiskey. Kreig got up from the floor and walked to the bag of food, picked it up and started to leave. When he walked out the door he turned towards Zeff and spoke.

"In an hour I'll be back at this restaurant, anyone who's still here will die" he said before leaving. Luffy just mocked her, then looked at Zeff and spoke.

"Hey, old man," said Luffy, drawing Zeff's attention, "I'll beat Kreig up for you if you're going to hand over the chef" he said, pointing at Sanji. Zeff smiled and replied.

"Deal," Zeff said caused Sanji to protest but everyone ignored him.

*One hour later*

Everyone was still inside the restaurant waiting for Kreig to appear again, when suddenly they heard a loud crashing sound outside and the entire restaurant started to sway in the wake of the big waves.

"He is here" said Luffy, standing from his seat and walking towards the exit followed by Zoro and the other Chefs behind him. When Luffy walked out of the door, he saw the huge ship of kreigs split into 2.

"Not seen you in a long time, Luffy?" Ask a man standing on a coffin-shaped boat. Luffy grinned before he replied.

"That's true ….. Hawk eye" Luffy replied.
