Chapter 44's

It had been an hour since the crew left Logue town and was currently sailing towards the Grand Line. Usopp guarded the wheel while Johnny and Yosaku were at the observation post just in case.

Zoro was sitting on the back deck of the ship with Luffy cleaning his sword, Nami and Nojiko were looking at the map of the Grand Line while Sanji was in the kitchen storing the items he bought. Luffy was drinking whiskey while staring at the sky filled with lightning clouds.

This was not his artificial cloud, it seemed like a real storm was coming towards them, but Luffy did not mind. They have had a towing since they left Logue town and are likely to be out of the storm before it even begins.

Luffy would sip his drink when Nami suddenly screamed to everyone's surprise and caused Luffy to spill some of the whiskey on the floor.

"MUHHH!" Nami yells. Luffy looked at her with a cold look in his eyes before he spoke.

"You better have a good reason for making me spill whiskey" Luffy said in a cold tone that made Nami sweat a little before he nodded his head. "Haahh, what is it?" Luffy asked with a sigh as Sanji and everyone ran over to see what happened with Nami.

"I was looking at the map of the Grand Line that I stole from Buggy and said here the entrance of the Grand Line is a mountain," he said causing everyone's eyes to widen except for Luffy.

"A mountain?" Zoro asked while looking at Nami. "Do we have to hit him?" Zoro asked causing Luffy to stare at him as if he was a fool.

"Seriously?" Luffy asked while looking at Zoro. "Crashed it? Does that sound like how you entered the Grand Line? Or does that sound like how you're gonna die?" Luffy asked rhetorically causing Zoro to look away in embarrassment.

"So how do we get into the Grand Line?" ask Sanji. Luffy sipped his drink before replying.

"We're going to sail up the mountain" he said, surprising everyone.

"Ships cannot sail up the mountain!" Usopp's words caused everyone to nod their heads approving of what he said.

"Give me that map, Nami," said Luffy as he extended his hand. When he gets the map from Nami, Luffy sits on the floor in front of them and starts explaining how it works.

"You see this mountain here?" he asked as he pointed to the mountain in the middle of the map. They all nodded and watched what he said.

"The mountain is part of the Red Line and is called Reverse Mountain. The currents from the four seas flowed up the mountain and into the Grand line," he said as he traced his finger across the small blue line representing the currents that ascended the mountain. Everyone's eyes widened when they heard the information.

"But that's impossible, the current can't flow up the mountain," Nojiko said as she stared in disbelief.

"In a normal world no, but this is the Grand Line," Luffy said as he rolled up the map and stared at all eyes before continuing. "If you go to that ocean and try to use logic to explain everything that's going on there, you're going crazy" he said before handing the map back to Nami.

"Nobody is sane about the sea. A minute of rain fell, and a second later it snowed, and two seconds after that a ship-sized hail fell from the sky," Luffy said causing their eyes to widen and their jaws to gap.

"You're kidding, right?" Nami asked.

"Nope .. well, I saw those things in the New World, but it could also happen in Paradise," he said making them a little relaxed. "By the way, Nami," said Luffy to draw his attention. "Have you and Nojiko bought the pose log?" he asked causing them to nod.

"Yes, we bought it, but why do we need it?" Nami asked.

"That's how you navigate the Grand Line, an ordinary compass doesn't work there," Luffy said.

"I bought some fresh vegetables to cook a healthy meal and lots of meat," Sanji said causing Luffy to nod. "I also bought some new pots and pans for the kitchen and a few more knives, but it was best that I won the Blue Finned Elephant Tuna in a cooking contest," she said happily.

Luffy looked at her with an amused smile on his face before he spoke.

"I'll be looking forward to eating it," Luffy said before he looked towards Usopp to hear what he was buying.

"I bought these new glasses" he said, pointing at the glasses on his head. "They'll help me better reach my target" he said causing Luffy to nod his head and wait for him to continue.

"I also bought some chemicals to experiment with so that I could make my slingshot attacks more deadly, so pirates and marines everywhere would be scared when I heard the name of Captain Usopp!" he shouted as he pointed to the sky causing everyone to laugh amusedly before looking at Zoro.

"I can't say I bought these two swords because the guy gave them to me for free" Zoro said to everyone's surprise.

"Why would someone give you two swords for free?" Sanji asked causing Zoro to pick up the sword in the red sheath before he spoke.

"It was because of this sword that he gave me two swords for free" he said as he showed them his sword. Luffy looked at the sword and narrowed his eyes towards them.

"But why?" nojiko asked while looking at the sword.

"Because it's cursed," said Luffy as he looked at his sword. Everyone's eyes widened when they heard that. "That's one of Kitetsu's swords isn't it?" Luffy asked causing Zoro to nod.

"Kitetsu Sword?" Usopp asked with a curious expression on his face.

"There are three Kitetsu swords, and all three are cursed. Once removed from the scabbard they have to spill the blood of the enemy or they will take the blood of their master" Luffy said, scaring them all.

"That's how the myth is," Luffy said with a chuckle. "What did they buy?" Luffy asked Zoro while pointing to the bounty hunter duo at the watchdog pole.

"I thought they were going to buy a sword, but they both bought a bisento instead" he said, surprising Luffy. Luffy won't complain, if that's what makes them comfortable then so be it. He then looks to Nami to hear what she bought.

"I bought new clothes and shoes" said Nami happily causing all the men except Sanji to roll their eyes. "I also bought a high-quality chart paper and a spare ink and pen to make the chart," he said causing Luffy to nod his head before staring at Nojiko to hear what he was buying.

"I also bought clothes and shoes with Nami, but I also bought this three-piece metal stick," Nojiko said as she pulled out the stick from behind her and showed it to everyone. It was a silver staff divided into three parts while the chain connected each part into one.

Luffy hypothesizes that it can be used as a staff and as nunchucks and if Nojiko adds haki to it, perhaps his weapon could become lethal.

"Good, you better practice how to use it," Luffy said causing Nojiko to nod her head before putting it down. "Usopp took the helm and told me when the current was so strong that you could no longer steer the ship" Luffy said causing Usopp to salute and run to the wheel.

"Promise I'm hungry enough can you go and prepare lunch," Luffy said causing him to nod and head for the kitchen. "And all of you" he said, drawing their attention.

"I'm sure you all still have some training to complete," he said causing them to run and take their blinders and sticks. Luffy poured some more whiskey for himself before looking up at the sky.
