The Chapter 119

**Night**

Luffy, his crew and Saruyama Alliance were sitting in front of Cricket House drinking and having fun. Somehow, their lunch turns into a party with Cricket telling the stories from Noland's notebook.

Right now, everyone was staring at Cricket which showed them the gold he found on the seabed. It was only after he took out a sizable golden bird statue that Cricket's face and the monkeys immediately came to a realization.

"Damn it!" exclaim the three of them, confusing the Straw Hat.

"What's wrong with you guys?" Nojiko asked as she looked at the three of them with a confused expression on her face.

"You have to go to the south of the island and catch South Bird" Cricket said in an urgent tone.

"Why do we need to do that?" Zoro asked while chugging sake.

"At noon tomorrow, the knock up-stream will appear south of here. Since you're on the Grand Line and the compass won't work here, you need something to tell you where to sail and that's where the Sout bird is useful, "Cricket explains, causing Luffy to nod, understanding what Cricket was talking about.

"Special animals have a very accurate sense of internal direction, as if they were born with a natural compass. This bird is a perfect example of such an animal. No matter what happens this bird will always face South" Cricket said, causing everyone to nod their heads.

"All right," said Luffy, drawing their attention. "Usopp you stay here and help prepare the ship," Luffy ordered, causing Usopp to nod his head. "You all started to split south and catch this bird" added Luffy, puzzling the rest of his crew.

"What about you, captain?" Zoro asked.

"I'm going to go make some calls and check out my small organization. After all, you have Robin with you, so it should be easy for you to catch one of these birds with his Devil Fruit abilities" Luffy added with a reassuring smile. .

"Aye Captain!" reply them all before running out of the house. Luffy then walked out of the house and called out to the crowd. When his crew arrived, Luffy jumped up and sat on his throne then he spoke to Usopp and Cricket.

"You who are still here immediately prepare Merry. I'll be right back" Luffy said before his crew took off leaving three stunned faces.

Luffy rose to a height before stopping about 1,500 meters above the sky. Luffy then put his hand into the clouds and took out a small chest and opened it. Inside the box were several transponder snails.

Luffy looked around and carefully took out six transponder snails and placed them into two rows above the clouds, then he took out two snails that were slightly larger than the one before.

One of the snails was pure white while the other was purple with a larger shell, on its shell there were several holes for wires that could be paired. Luffy then plugged six wires into seven different holes in the snail shell.

He then connected one of the seven wires to a white transponder snail and the remaining six to a smaller one. When finished he took the microphone on the purple snail and pressed the red button on top of its shell, which caused the other 6 snails to wake up and start ringing.

"Hello?"

"Hello,"

"Lu?"

"Captain?"

"What?"

"Yes?"

All of Luffy's subordinates answered his call, causing Luffy to smile then he spoke in a commanding voice.

"Yes, it's me" Luffy said as he spoke into the microphone. "Give me your status updates on whatever you've done" Luffy ordered.

"Well, we just arrived in East Blue," Johnny replied, causing Luffy to nod his head. "We are now heading to Baratie to inform the old man of your organization and drop off some people from the Hino branch there to work as servants, before we head to Cocoyasi Village," johnny's words caused Luffy to grin.

"That sounds like a good plan" Luffy replied. The idea of leaving some people in the Baratie to work as waiters was a brilliant idea, they could work in floating restaurants and dig up information from restaurant visitors. "Call me if you need someone to build a base in Cocoyasi Village" Luffy told Johnny and Yosaku.

"Aye, Captain!" johnny and Yosaku said over the phone.

"Isaac, what can you report," asked Luffy.

"Ummm .. well, I have good news and bad news," Isaac said, causing Luffy to narrow his eyes. "Which one do you want first?" Isaac asked, causing Luffy to sigh before he replied.

"Give me the bad news" Luffy said as he leaned back to his throne.

"Yeah, the one with the Clone-Clone is not" replied Luffy.

"Well, he was sort of caught by the marines when we left Alabasta and most likely is now in Impel Down" Isaac said, causing Luffy to growl through his microphone.

"Explain!" Luffy yells.

"Well, the three of us were on our respective ships while heading for West Blue, then Black Cage Hina appeared with her fleet along with White Hunter," Isaac explained, causing Luffy to raise his eyebrows.

"Smokers?" Luffy asked in surprise.

"Right, he and I were playing around for a bit, while Jiro and Bon Clay held Hina. I was able to handle Smoker thanks to my haki, but Bon Clay and his crew sacrificed themselves so that we could all escape," Isaac explained, causing Luffy to once again sigh.

"If you can handle Smoker, why would he sacrifice himself?" Luffy asked.

"What should I do?" Isaac asked. "The bastard had already sacrificed himself before I could clean up Smoker" Isaac said in a frustrated voice.

"Alright," Luffy said before a serious look crept across his face as he spoke again. "But Isaac," Luffy said in a serious tone. "If something like this happened again ... Personally, I'm going to visit you and rip your angel wings right off your back" Luffy told the phone, giving Isaac goosebumps.

"B-well," he replied with a slight stutter.

"Now, what's the good news?" Luffy asked.

"We found a city occupied by a group of weak pirates. We beat them into submission and added them to the Hell's Company before we set up headquarters on the island" Isaac said, causing a grin to creep into Luffy's face.

"Good, very good" said Luffy. "Md. Merry Christmas, how's it going in North Blue?" Luffy asked.

"Well, well, well," said the woman very quickly. "We've just reached North Blue and haven't found a suitable place to set up a base, but once we find one, I'll immediately use my Mole-Mole fruit to set up an underground base," said Ms. Merry Christmas is much slower than how he usually talks.

"That's a good idea" said Luffy, nodding his head. "Gem, have you reached South Blue yet?" Luffy asked.

"Yes, we arrived a few days ago and set up headquarters on Karate Island," the Gem retorted, causing Luffy to nod his head. "We've started spreading the members of the Hino Branch to spread the word and start gathering information" he added, causing Luffy to smile.

"That's great" Luffy replied with a satisfied expression on his face. "So, what report do you have?" Luffy asked.

"Well, we found a derelict island not far from Alabasta and are preparing to make a base here" Paula replied.

"Good, I have an acquaintance who built a shipping port in Alabasta. Send someone over there and find the person in charge of building the harbor, his name is Paul, tell him Asura sent you guys for him" Luffy said by phone. "He has a blueprint of how I want the Hino Branch headquarters to be made. So, don't worry about building a base, he'll do it for you" Luffy explained.

"Alright, I happen to be sending some people to Alabasta to act as spies. I'll ask one of them to go see this guy" Paula said, while Luffy nodded in agreement.

"Now, Daz, what report are you reporting?" Luffy asked.

"We haven't found a fixed base yet, but some people from the Kiten Branch have already started to spread out looking for items to sell," Daz Bone replied causing Luffy to nod his head.

"If you're still looking for a base, you can go to Jaya Island, there's a town called Mock Town there. The city was filled with pirates and human garbage," Luffy suggested.

"It sounds like a good idea, I'll check if I can find a way to get there" replied Daz Bone, while Luffy nodded his head.

"Alright, tell me about any developments" Luffy said.

"Aye, Sir!" answer them before they hang up. As they hung up the phone, Luffy leaned on his throne and stared at the stars.

'Hmmm, I wonder if they've caught the bird?' Luffy asked himself before he decided it was time to go back. The cloud quickly carried out his master's orders and turned around before starting to fly back to Cricket's house.

It took about ten minutes to get there, it was because Luffy decided to enjoy a quiet and peaceful night on his way. When Cricket's house is seen, Luffy's eyes suddenly widen due to what he sees.

There was nothing but destruction everywhere, with the evidence that a battle had taken place.Leaving its clouds, Luffy turned his body into lightning and teleported from the clouds to the ground, to the location near Masira and Cricket are seriously injured.

"Old man" Luffy told Cricket, barely conscious. "What's going on here?" he asked when he saw all the damage. There was a giant hole in Cricket's house, the ground around it was destroyed in some places, and most importantly, the front of the Going Merry was detached from the hull.

"This is .. This is Bellamy's work" Cricket said in a weak voice. "He came for my gold" he told Luffy." He beat us, took my gold and .. took your long-nosed friend as well," Cricket said, causing a blank and emotionless expression to appear on Luffy's face, as thunder clouds began to fill the sky. "Sorry" Cricket told Luffy.

"It's not your fault" Luffy said in a flat voice as he turned around and looked in the direction where his crew had gone to look for South Bird. "I'll be back" Luffy said before turning into lightning and soaring into the sky.
