"Poneglyphs are kept there, deep underground" Cobra said before he led the two pirates down the stairs. "Most people are not even aware of the existence of Poneglyphs. How do you know about their whereabouts?" Cobra asked as they walked down the stairs.
"Well, it's Nico Robin who knows" Luffy said, causing Cobra's eyes to widen. "He could read the ancient writings of the Poneglyph," added Luffy, making the King even more surprised. "While it was me, my mentor who told me about them," Luffy said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm guessing you can't read it?" Cobra asked while glancing at Luffy.
"Technically, no," Luffy said, puzzling Cobra and causing Robin to narrow her eyes at Luffy. When they reached the bottom, they arrived at a secret underground chamber.
"Poneglyphs are right behind those doors" said the king, pointing at the door behind. Luffy walked to the door and pulled them open, revealing a giant Poneglyph in the middle of the room.
Robin's face smiled widely, then he walked into the room, while Luffy and the king just stood behind and leaned near the door.
While Robin was outlining the Poneglyph, Luffy seemed to be closing his eyes and his forehead shrinking, as if he was focusing on something, but no one knew what.
"Well," said Cobra, drawing their attention. "Can you read it?" he asked while looking at Robin.
"Yes," replied Robin, then he looked at the king and glanced towards Luffy, only to see him standing there with his eyes closed. "This pieglyph is just about history" Robin told Cobra.
"The "poneglyph tells the history of this country and its previous kings. Also-" Robin stopped when Luffy cut his voice.
"Stop your bullshit" said Luffy cutting Robin's speech. "I know this Poneglyph tells the location of Pluton," Luffy said as he opened his eyes, surprising the two of them.
"How are you ..." Robin asked in a slightly frightened voice.
"You can rest easy, I'm not interested in that weapon. I have all the strength I need" Luffy said as he looked at Robin with a bored expression on his face.
"I thought you said you couldn't read the ancient language" Cobra said, staring at Luffy.
"I can't" Luffy replied with a grin. "It's not hard to explain. I don't even understand it very much myself. All I know is, I can hear the sound of everything" Luffy said, confusing the two of them.
"If you think I'm asking you to join my crew just to find out what the Poneglyph is about then you're wrong. I don't need you to figure out what's in the Poneglyph, I can do it myself" Luffy said seriously.
"Now because this Poneglyph doesn't have what you and I want, can we go now?" Luffy asked, starting to feel a little tired from continuing to wait.
"I'm sorry for asking, but what exactly are you looking for in these Poneglyphs?" Cobra asked while looking at the two of them.
"The lost history of the world" Robin answered, causing Cobra's eyes to widen.
"The lost history?" Cobra asked, which was responded with a nod by Robin.
"The emptiness of several centuries of history and the archaeological history of our world. The World Government prohibits any research on this topic, and that is why they make the science of reading Poneglyphs illegal. The lost history is written on some of these Poneglyphs, whatever governments do in those empty few centuries, allowing the World Government to take political control of the entire world," luffy said in a serious voice while looking at the king.
"This ... something," Cobra replied, sounding rather overwhelmed.
"Forget it, for now, we can talk about it later," Luffy said, while Robin nodded. "Let's stop this war" Luffy said before turning around and starting to leave. The king and Robin immediately followed Luffy up the stairs after closing the door to a room with Poneglyphs.
When they got to the top, Luffy looked at Robin and spoke. "What are you gonna do, Robin?" Luffy asked, leaving Robin confused. "Do you want to go to my ship first, or to the palace with me and the rest of the crew?" Luffy asked with one eyebrow raised up.
"Well I was planning on going to the ship and waiting for you there, but that sounded too boring," Robin replied, causing Luffy to laugh before he nodded.
"Alright then," said Luffy before turning towards the king. "Go with the king to the palace and wait for me there," said Luffy before turning to leave. Luffy walked a few steps before turning around and speaking to Robin once more. "Oh, and I'd stay away from the princess if I were you," Luffy added with a smile, making Robin chuckle.
"Don't plan to show myself to her," Robin replied, causing Luffy to laugh. He was about to say something else, but before he could, a gigantic explosion shook the entire city of Alubarna, causing Luffy to turn around and look towards the explosion. When Luffy turned around he saw a giant ball of light lit up in the middle of the sky.
‘Good job, Smoker,’ thought Luffy while grinning.
"Well, I have a war to stop" said Luffy with a smile, then he turned his body into lightning and shot into the sky, leaving Robin and the king there.
When Luffy appeared in the clouds, he looked towards the bound and grinning Crocodile, then the cloud shot towards the plaza where the Royal Army and the Rebels were fighting.
When Luffy arrived there, he saw the two troops not fighting, they all tried to stand up from the ground and looked at the sky where the previous explosion had occurred.
‘It seems that the shockwave from the explosion made them all fall,’ thought Luffy with an amused smile on his face. He then looked at Crocodile and flicked his finger, causing the lightning that bound Crocodiel to disappear, freeing the Shichibukai. As the lightning dissipated, Crocodile's eyes snapped open.
"Huh? Where am I?" he asked in a hurt voice. Luffy did not reply, instead, he coated his hands with haki and pulled /strangled the neck of the Shichibukai, then raised his body to the end of the clouds.
Crocodile starts to struggle and has trouble breathing, but Luffy just holds him there with a grin on his face.
"You want to be king on this land" said Luffy, pulling back his other hand, with a haki-lined fist. "Well ... life ... the king, '" said Luffy before he dealt a blow to Crocodile's head, sending the Shichibukai hurtling to the ground.
Luffy then looked around and saw rain clouds begin to form in the sky above Alabasta. "Now, can you see that" said Luffy with a smile, then he stood on the edge of the clouds and looked down.
** Return to Surface **
Crocodile was currently lying face-to-face, unconscious in the middle of a 20-foot-wide crater, while people from both armies surrounded him with bewildered faces.
"Isn't that Crocodile?" one of the rebels asked.
"Yes, but who can do this to her?" ask the others.
"Who has the power to defeat a Shichibukai?" they all ask. Before anyone else could speculate about what happened, they all heard the begging cry of a young woman.
"STOP FIGHTING!" they all heard Vivi's scream. When they turned around and looked towards where the voice was coming from, they saw Princess Vivi standing on top of the clock tower.
But before Vivi or anyone from both armies could say anything, a lightning strike struck the crater where Crocodile lay and shocked the people standing around him.
When Lightning disappeared, everyone saw Luffy standing there, with one of his legs on Crocodile's back, and his captain's coat fluttering in the wind, staring at all of them with a solemn expression on his face.
"This war is over" Luffy said in a cold voice that gave everyone there chills.
"W-who are you?" one of the royal soldiers asked with trembling legs.
"He's T-Thunder D-Demon, Straw Hat Luffy!" a random rebel shouted, causing another group of rebels and some royal soldiers to let out a shocked expression. Luffy ignored all of their surprised expressions and started talking.
"The crocodile here fools all of you," said Luffy, confusing everyone. "He and his organization, the Baroque Works incited all sides to go to war, and then to seize power in this country" Luffy said.
"lik! It was the Royal Family's fault! We won't rest until every member of the Royal family" a random rebel tattooed Baroque Works on his bicep says that before he suddenly loses his head, causing everyone around him to retreat in fear.
"What just happened?" A royal guard asked.
"Would anyone bother me again?" Luffy asked in a cold tone, causing them all to sweat. "Good, now look at that man who just died?" Luffy said as he pointed to the headless body. "Look at his right bicep, see that tattoo?" luffy's question made some people nod. "It was a symbol of the Baroque Works. he was one of Crocodile's men, "luffy said, causing everyone's eyes to widen. Luffy then turned around and looked back and spoke to someone.
"Looks, you can handle it from here ... Igaram?" Luffy asked with a smile as he looked at the man who should have died carrying a boy. Igaram and the boy then began to explain to everyone what the true intentions of Crocodile were and how he used the people of the country to increase his own profits.
At the end of their explanation, everyone there then dropped their weapons. Just as they all dropped their weapons, lightning boomed over their heads, and the sky was filled with black clouds.
Seconds later it finally rained for the first time in three years. Everyone started cheering and singing, rejoicing because their suffering had ended. Luffy ignored all their cheers and started walking towards the direction where he felt his crew was.
As he walked, the crowd of royal soldiers and ex-rebels parted ways creating a straight path towards the crew Luffy was on, while thanking Luffy and cheering his name as he walked. Luffy ignored her and continued to show a flat face.
As Luffy neared the end of the crowd, he saw a group of marines led by a female swordsman who was always with Smoker, appear and start walking towards Luffy. Luffy did not stop and he also did not look threatened by their presence.
He continued walking as if he did not care about anything. However the people who were on both sides of the road, were not as calm as Luffy. They start insulting the marines, because they think that the marines are there to arrest Luffy.
When Luffy came face to face with the female Swordsman, Luffy stopped about 1 foot away from her and slightly to the right side. None of them looked each other in the eye, they just stared straight at each other's shoulders.
Right now the tension that appeared was enormous and all the marines that were behind the female Swordsman were extremely nervous.
"I saw the explosion" Luffy said in a monotonous voice. "Is Smoker okay?" he asked, speaking to the marine behind the female Swordsman surprisingly.
"She's a little hurt, but she'll be fine" replied the female swordsman although Luffy asked in the other direction . Luffy knew the woman was afraid of him after what happened earlier when they met Ace.
"Good, tell her I'm looking forward to our next meeting" Luffy said as he turned around and suddenly looked at her with a slight smile.
"B-well!" The female swordsman stuttered, causing Luffy to laugh before continuing to walk. Luffy took a few steps forward before he stopped and turned his head over his shoulder and spoke once more. "The swordsman," said Luffy, caught his attention.
"Y-yes?" he replied letting his nervousness arise.
"What's your name?" Luffy asked, causing his eyes to widen slightly.
"T-Tashigi," he said as he adjusted his glasses. Luffy did not say anything more, he simply nodded and continued walking away. Tashigi and her troops heaved a sigh of relief, then continued walking towards Crocodile. When Luffy met his crew, he saw them all at rest with Vivi, with tired expressions visible on their faces, causing Luffy to remove the serious expression on his face and then smile.
"You guys seem to need a vacation" Luffy said as he stopped in front of them.
"You're so right" Nami replied as she leaned against the wall.
"Alright, princess," said Luffy attracting her attention. "Can you show my crew a place where they can relax?" Luffy asked with a smile that caused Vivi to smile widely with tears in her eyes.
"Yes, I can" Vivi said, and then led them all away.
