After walking for a while, the crew arrived at what appeared to be a paddy field where the villagers were planting rice. At the end of the paddy field was a tree that provided enough shade that Luffy decided to go there and relax for a while.
Zoro, Usopp, and Johnny then began to tell them all what had happened since they left the restaurant until they were reunited with Luffy. They begin to tell the story of how Usopp and Johnny left Zoro on the ship when they saw the Fishmen approaching, and then went into hiding in the destroyed city of Arlong because one man could not pay tribute money.
At first, Luffy was angry at Usopp for leaving Zoro and saving themselves but after hearing what Zoro did at Arlong Park, Luffy started to calm down. Apparently, after Nami took Zoro out of prison and told him to leave, Zoro decided to wait there and kill a group of Fishmen while he was there.
Luffy assumes that's what Nami was talking about when he says Arlong wanted to kill Zoro because of his stupidity. Luffy is then shocked to learn that Nami saved Usopp's life by pricking his own hand and now, after he thinks back to it, Nami is wearing black gloves when they meet him.
"So Nami saved you from Arlong?" Ask Yosaku.
"Yes, right," replied Usopp.
"Why would he do that if he was a member of Arlong's crew?" asked Johnny with a puzzled look on his face.
"I believe I can help answer that question," came the voice of a woman near them, which shocked everyone. Luffy then looked at the source of the voice and saw Nami's sister.
"And who are you?" Zoro asked in a flat tone. Before he could answer, Usopp answered Zoro's question.
"That's Nami's older sister, Nojiko," Usopp said as he pointed at her. "He saved me from a Fishman when I just arrived and then took me to his house" Usopp said. Luffy sighed before he spoke to Usopp.
"I really need to teach you Haki, Usopp," Luffy said in a tired tone. After hearing the new woman coming was Nami's sister, Sanji immediately goes into his love drunk mode which causes Luffy to look towards Zoro and then Luffy nods his head signaling Zoro to hit Sanji on the head.
"You all need to know the reason he joined Arlong's group and if that doesn't get you out of here, I don't know what's going to happen," Nojiko said, Luffy just raised his eyebrows.
"All right, tell us all. I have to admit that I'm curious" Usopp said. Luffy then got up from where he was sitting and started walking away. As he walked away he spoke.
"I don't need to know" he said as he walked. "I don't care about his past. I'm going for a walk" he said, confusing them all. Zoro just sighed and started sitting under the tree before he spoke.
"Don't mind him, that's how Luffy is," Zoro said as he placed his hand behind his head. "We'll hear you" he said. After Luffy left his crew to hear what Nojiko wanted to say about Nami, he began to walk down a deserted road that was in the rice fields and shady trees.
Luffy had already walked for a few minutes, and he was now quite far away from his other crew, which was when he realized there were three figures in front of him. As he continued walking towards the three figures earlier, he realized that they were not moving, they were just standing there staring at Luffy.
As Luffy gets closer, he realizes that they turned out to be Fishmen. They were all a little taller than Luffy and clearly more muscular. The three Fishmen continued to stare at Luffy, as he got closer and their distance was enough to be able to hear each other, an octopus Fishman was the first to speak to Luffy.
"Hello, stranger," said the octopus with folded arms.
"Hey," Luffy said as he walked past the three of them.
"I was just passing by" Luffy replied, not stopping, not even looking at them.
"And where are you headed?" fishman asked with a rather long mouth.
"I don't have a purpose, just take a walk," Luffy said as he walked away from the three Fishmen. The octopus fishman who first greeted Luffy smiled and started waving his hands at Luffy while speaking.
"Good way, stranger," he said cheerfully, waving at Luffy. Luffy didn't say anything he did was keep walking away from the group.
If you ask Luffy where he's going, he can't give you an answer because he doesn't know where he's going. It was very strange for Luffy, because usually he always makes well-thought-out decisions and everything he does must be for a reason, he said, but at the moment he has no reason to do what he does.
After walking even further, Luffy reached a cliff that gave a beautiful view to the beach and the open ocean. Staring out into the ocean, Luffy could not help but smile as he looked out into the ocean and thought about the freedom he had with being a pirate.
As he looked and enjoyed the scene, Luffy saw something in the corner of his eye. When he slightly turned his head to the left he saw a marine ship, and from the appearance of that ship, it was a ship from Marine Branch 16.
'Did the Marine finally decide to take action against Arlong?' Luffy asked himself as he stared at the ocean liner.
"I'd better get back .. I have a weird feeling that something's going to happen," Luffy told himself, then he turned around and started walking back to meet the rest of the crew.
He decided to take a different route, because he did not want to meet the Fishmen that were just now again. So, he took a further path, which would take him straight to the village and then from there he would go back to meet his crew.
After walking for about 15 minutes Luffy entered the village and started walking on a fairly busy road. Suddenly everyone on the street including Luffy stopped and looked ahead. Walking towards Luffy is a group of Marines along with Genzo. Luffy narrowed his eyes slightly before he started moving to the side of the road and lowered his head, hiding among the other villagers.
'Did Genzo call the Marine here to arrest me?' Luffy asked himself. Just as the Marine group was passing by, Luffy managed to hear a little of their conversation.
"What do you want with Nami?" Genzo asked, causing Luffy's eyes to widen.
"Your job is just to lead us there, I suggest you do your job and stop asking," said the Marine captain who closely resembled a rat. Just as the Marines were starting to drift apart, Luffy turned his body into lightning and then teleported himself to the location his crew was at.
Zoro and the rest of the crew were sitting around waiting for Luffy, about 5 minutes now after Nojiko finished telling the story. At the moment Usopp is doing something on his catapult, Sanji is smoking, Zoro is sleeping, then Johnny and Yosaku are playing cards.
then, out of nowhere the lightning strike hit the ground near them, causing dust to fly and scaring everyone to death. When the dust finally dissipated, everyone saw Luffy standing with a serious face. Upon seeing him Usopp, Johnny, and Yosaku immediately jumped to their feet and shouted at Luffy.
"LUFFY!" they shouted while running towards Luffy. Luffy looked at everyone before he spoke.
"Come, it's time to move" he said before turning around and starting to walk towards the village with Zoro on the right and Sanji on his left while Usopp, Johnny, and Yosaku followed behind.
