Chapter 106's

Luffy and the King started eating first, then the others followed them. Five minutes after eating, the King looked towards Luffy and spoke.

"Mmm, Luffy," said the king attracting the attention of the Thunder Demon. "Your interview with the World Economic New Paper really caused quite a stir around the world" said the king with a slightly worried look on his face.

"That's my goal" Luffy replied with a smile, surprising the king.

"Aren't you worried about what the Marine's gonna do?" the king asked as he took a sip of the wine beside him. "You're putting the image of the Marine and the world government to a bad reputation" he added.

"Marine will probably send some captains from the main base (HQ) to chase and catch us, but I'm not too worried about that," Luffy replied as he shrugged his shoulders casually. "They've done that to try and stop me from re-entering the Grand Line, but look how it's going now" added Luffy, while his crew nodded.

"Well, as long as you're not worried, I don't think I should be worried either" the king replied, causing Luffy to nod. "However, I can't if I don't continue to thank you for what you've done for my country and for Vivi" she added, causing Vivi to smile gently.

"Speaking about all that," Luffy said in seriousness, causing everyone to calm down by staring at Luffy. "Have you spoken to your daughter about the rewards you need to pay me?" Luffy asked while looking at the king.

"Yes, he already told me about what you asked for in return for your help in stopping Crocodile," the king's crapsang, puzzled the royal guards. The guards had read the newspaper this morning and knew Luffy had not saved their country for free, but they had no idea what Luffy was asking for.

"Then I guess you'll approve my request?" Luffy asked with raised eyebrows.

"In return for getting rid of Crocodile, you want Alabasta to be your territory, right?" The king asked, where did Luffy nod. "I don't know how the World Government will look at this" said the king, causing Luffy to sigh.

"It doesn't matter what they think" Luffy said, causing Cobra's eyes to widen slightly. "There are many countries that are part of the World Government and under the protection of pirates. Fishman Island for example, they are under the protection of Whitebeard and they are still part of the World Government. So, this matter would also be no different from that, "Luffy explained.

"I see," Cobra replied while rubbing his beard. "And what exactly do you want to get in return for your protection?" the king asked.

"Not much," replied Luffy, before sipping the wine next to him. "All I want is for all my ships anchored in this country to be able to replenish their ship supplies for free and I want to have a special place to build my own private harbor," luffy said, surprising the king.

"That's all?" king Cobra asked in a surprised voice.

"Yes," said Luffy with a nod.

"Why do you want to build your own port?" Vivi asked in a curious voice.

"I want to make Alabasta one of the headquarters for my organization," Luffy replied, causing the King to raise his eyebrows.

"Organization?" the king asked.

"Yup, delivery organization. If Alabasta has anything she wants to export, my people can send it, "luffy replied with a proud smile. "And also, you'll get a chance to buy whatever stuff they bring into the country," Luffy added.

"That sounds like a good deal" the king replied with a smile.

"So, did you accept this deal?" Luffy asked.

"Yes, I accept it" the king answered, raising his glass.

"Good," said Luffy while raising his glass as well. "Just hang up my flag all over the country to make sure everyone knows not to mess around in this region" Luffy added before the two sipped their drinks. Luffy was about to say something again, but before he could say anything, the transponder snail inside his coat started ringing.

Luffy reached into his coat and took out a small transponder snail with red hair and three scars over his left eye. Luffy smiled as he looked at the snail, but his smile turned confused while realizing what the snail was.

"Yo," Luffy replied towards the snail.

"LUFFY!" came the carefree cries of some men through the snail.

"Well, it's good to know that you're all drunk" Luffy replied with a smile and sip of his surname.

"AHHHH How could we not get drunk on a special occasion like this! Ahhahahah!"shanks' voice through the snail.

"And what are you celebrating?" Luffy asked while chuckling.

"Well you know," Shanks began in a carefree voice. "I had a little student and he just made his own crew a few months ago, and then today I opened the paper and saw that he not only managed to defeat a Shichibukai, he said, but he also managed to have his first territory" Shanks said, which caused Luffy to chuckle and shake his head while everyone just watched in amusement.

"Whoever it is, it must be that he's really badass to be able to do all that," Luffy added causing a burst of laughter on the other side of the snail tranponder.

"No, he's actually a whiny boy," Shanks retorted, causing Luffy's eyes to widen in fear while his crew leaned their bodies to hear which way this conversation was headed. "Oh, I can remember how he used to whine because he wanted to come out to sea with us" Shanks said, causing a louder laugh to be heard through the snail, followed by a laugh that emerged from Luffy's crew.

"Shut up, Shanks!" Luffy yelled at the snail in embarrassment.

"Okay, okay, I'm done," Shanks said with a laugh.

"Where are you?" Luffy asked as laughter began to subside in the dining room.

"We are on Winter Island in the New World" Shanks replied in a relaxed tone. "I'm here waiting for Rockstar, I sent him to deliver a message to Whitebeard," Shanks added, causing everyone's eyes in the room to widen.

"I know," Shanks replied with a laugh, which caused Luffy to chuckle and shake his head. "But that's not why I called," Shanks added, causing Luffy to narrow his eyes as he could feel Shanks turning serious through the transponder snail.

"And why exactly did you call me? "Luffy asked in a serious tone.

"How is your plan progressing?" Shanks asked.

"I took care of it yesterday" replied Luffy. "By the way, I had a visitor yesterday" added Luffy.

"Oh, who?" Shanks asked.

"The Angel of Death," Luffy's reply confuses most of his crew but also causes Zoro, Robin, and King's eyes to widen upon hearing Isaac's nickname.

"Isaac?" Shanks said in a surprised tone. "What does he want?" She asked.

"He wants to join me but doesn't want to be someone weaker than him" Luffy replied, causing Shanks to laugh.

"So in short, you managed to kick his ass" Shanks said, causing Luffy to laugh.

"Right, now that he's sailing under my flag," Luffy replied, surprising everyone.

"Then, our drinking party is less big" Shanks said, causing Luffy to laugh.

"But I really doubt you called me just to talk about my little plan," replied Luffy, leaving Shanks speechless for a while before he replied.

"You're right, I did call you for something else" Shanks replied in a serious voice. "How about we form an alliance," Shanks added causing everyone including Luffy's eyes to widen in shock.

"You can't form an alliance haphazardly" Luffy said.

"you're not just anyone," Shanks replied causing Luffy to grin.

"I remember I told you before I left, that I didn't plan to sail under someone else's flag" Luffy said.

"I'm not talking about an alliance where one side is superior to the other" Shanks replied, causing Luffy to raise his eyebrows. "I'm talking about an alliance ... between equal groups," Shanks added, causing a huge grin to appear on Luffy's face, while the faces of his crew and everyone in the room turned into shock. Some royal guards even dropped their weapons in shock.

"You do realize what channel you used to call me, right?" Luffy asked.

"Yes," Shanks replied causing Luffy to laugh.

"The World Government will not sit idly by and let us form an alliance" Luffy said.

"The government is not a threat to you or me" Shanks replied, causing Luffy to nod in agreement. "So, how's Luffy?" Shanks asked.

"You got sake in there?" Luffy asked with a smile, which caused loud cheers to be heard through the transponder snail.

"Yup, is your whiskey there?" Shanks asked, causing Luffy to chuckle and take out a bottle of whiskey that was still sealed from his coat along with a glass that looked like it was made of diamonds.

"Yup," Luffy replied as he placed the glass in front of him and filled it with whiskey.

"For the alliance!" say both of them simultaneously before gulping down both their drinks.
