CHAPTER 07 - Horror
In accordance with the decision he took, in the end Lucia drove Rayn home using a food truck owned by Friend's Cafe where she worked. Lucia drove carefully, occasionally glancing at the navigation screen of the road pointer that had been set in its destination by Rayn. He didn't really check where they were going. For him as long as it is still read on the navigation, it means he only needs to drive safely.
In the middle of the journey, as soon as Lucia frowned, she felt a dag dig dug as the navigation directed her to turn right at the red light intersection right in front of her. Lucia knows very well that turning right at the intersection is the way to get out of town.
When the red light hit, Lucia looked up, looking at the signboard installed by the government. He made sure to come back and that's the right way out of town.
“Is he a person from out of town? Did he really ask me to drive him back there?” in his heart, he began to panic.
Waiting for the red light to turn green. Lucia re-examined the name of the place she was going to, clearly displayed on the screen if the destination was a Villa that was still in the inner city. Although he had to enter the border area of the city, but he was relieved because it means not having to take Rayn too far.
“Still have to walk another 6km.. ok” murmured Lusia shriek.
The journey taken by Lucia is actually not far if the time is calculated. Based on the navigation directions, he only took less than 40 minutes to travel from Galery. However, because the road is still unfamiliar and the route is not the route of the urban area, making Lusia feel if he seems to have traveled far.
Lucia attempted to start a conversation with Rayn who was sitting in the passenger seat. Along the way from the car ride to the present Rayn did not make any sound at all. He just sat with a calm look forward despite occasionally checking his phone.
“Did you come from out of town ?” ask Lucia. “About that Villa, just staying overnight or you do live there?” tanya Lucia again tried to melt the atmosphere to help reduce her thoughts that began to wild and parno.
"You just simply drove me there, without asking unnecessary things” replied Rayn sharply.
“Ok...” says Lucia is short while straightening her eyes focus back to the front. He played music at a loud volume. "Just need entertainment because it feels like driving alone" said Lucia with a forced smile to insinuate Rayn.
Lucia cars have entered the forestry area, there are no houses and shops along the roadside. Navigation gives direction if in 500m again Lucia must bend the steering wheel of his car following the left turn lane. Lucia began to wonder if her decision to offer a ride was correct. But he recalled Rayn's words not to half in doing good.
The roads they traveled were paved, uphill, winding, and surrounded only by huge towering pine trees. The road body is wide so that two cars can be passed side by side.
Although it still looks normal but it is very clear if this is not a public road. The absence of street lighting indicates that there are certainly not many people who pass by here. The dark path makes the view of Lucia should focus straight ahead. He could only rely on his car's spotlights as streetlights.
“Why are there no lighting at all... does the villa really exist? or maybe just a Maps trick?”.
Lucia continued to babble in her heart glancing sharply at Rayn, she felt like she was on a night adventure full of mystery.
Rerrr…!!! .
The lightning sound that struck shocked Lusia. Suddenly he shouted violently in the car by spontaneously stepping on the car brake. Lucia stopped the car suddenly when she heard and saw a flash right in front of her eyes.
“Oh No...!!!” Did you see him just too? Is it really lightning light?” ask Lucia to Rayn.
The wind started to blow hard, it seemed that the tree was moving chaotic because of its blow. “It looks like it will rain” further said Lusia glanced around.
“If you don't want to be stuck here because of the rain, then run your car” command Rayn responds to the noise of Lucia with a flat tone.
Rayn's calm actually made Lucia start to fear and think whether the man was not planning bad intentions. Lucia took her bluetooth earphones, then made a call to Reisa. At least he can have a interlocutor, as well as tell Reisa about his current position where and who he is with. He thought, if something happens to him later, at least there is hope because there are still people who know it.
But unfortunately, Reisa did not answer his call. Instead, not long after the incoming call from Dave, Lucia swiftly received Dave's phone call.
“Oh Dave, are you still waiting for me? Forgive brother, it looks like it will be late to go home because it is dropping someone“ said Lucia without saying hello and asking why Dave contacted her.
"Sister? Somebody? I was still waiting but I didn't understand Ka Lucia's words. Who does Lucy mean? Is Lucy currently working as a replacement driver?” ask Dave who knows if Lusia also works as a substitute driver on his day off. But he was confused because Lucia should return to the Cafe.
“Kak Lusia, what's with you talking? Did something happen?. Why did you give me a ride up the city border road?” dave asked in a serious tone feeling that something was wrong with Lusia's unusual style of speech and continued to bounce.
“Oh yes you are absolutely right, there is something so you can not keep your promise. So, in exchange brother will treat you later. Brother did not mean to break the promise and sorry for making you have to wait until late. We can play a game together tomorrow. Forgive your brother this is my sister“ Lucia replied in a compassionate tone. His words are getting more and more raved.
It seems pretty obvious if it's code to answer Dave's question. He gave a code if it is right when something is happening that he himself still does not know what will happen after. Lucia really hopes Dave will understand.
“Kak Lusia, tell me where you are now!” dave's orders were firm with a panicked tone.
“Lussia.. ?” Kelvin's voice was heard in his phone call with Dave. Dave is currently with Kelvin at the Cafe. This was because Dave realized something was wrong with what Lusia was talking about. Dave immediately activated the loudspeaker so that Kelvin could also hear the incongruity of Lucia's speech.
“Yah… ! Don't bully your sister in situations like this. I told you I could drive well. It's just that this time it's quite different, a little more extreme. The road I was walking on was very dark and several times uphill. Not only that but also meandering. Even what I saw was all the trees. For the sake of mutual security, you have to drive carefully and slowly like a conch Lucia is trying to give Dave & Kelvin an idea of everything he is going through right now.
Lucia glanced at Rayn. “My sister always sneered if I would lose a passenger by the way I drive which she thinks is like a snail... haha” Lucia told Rayn explaining the intention of her conversation on the phone. I hope Rayn doesn't suspect anything.
"But don't worry I'm really a good driver, SIMku showed the results of the State's trust in the way I drive, hehe“ continued Lucia with an awkward laugh.
Rayn smiled back at the corner of her lips. Of course again the mysterious response could not be seen Lusia. For Lusia his chatter would absolutely not affect the strange man who was just sitting sweet like a statue next to him.
“ha.. haha... It doesn't seem to matter to you, haha.“ Lusia's laughter by lowering her tone saw Rayn not flinching at all.
“Eemm... before long we will reach your destination, the Villa Grand Valley" said Lucia slowly read the name of the Villa written on the navigation screen, of course, so that Dave and Kelvin can hear clearly the name of the place they are heading to at this time.
“Don't this Villa belong to you personally? I didn't know if there were any villas in this area before. But amazingly its location is verified on Maps and even vehicle navigation can find it. It's just a pity that there is no lighting along the way“ said Lucia.
Lucia kept talking to Rayn, all her words were just code for Dave and Kelvin to hear her conversation. He tried to tell them where he was now, where he was going and information about the location he was going to was on Maps.
“Do you live there alone?” ask Lucia again.
“Don't you have to finish your call first before talking to someone else?” rayn's reply which finally opened his voice turned to look at Lucia.
“Gawat, what did he mean he asked me to turn off the phone? Is he starting to get suspicious?” tanya Lucia inwardly raised her alertness level to 99.9%.
