CHAPTER 18 - Flahsback

~Flahsback

That night, right on the day of David's birthday celebration 5 months ago. The day that Lucia learned of Kelvin's feelings for her.

David celebrates his simple birthday with his girlfriend Reisa, Kelvin and Lucia. They went to a famous barbeque restaurant that David frequented. David not only ordered a barbeque package but also ordered wine.

Kelvin was very weak to Alcohol and of course David knew it. But this time David continues to tease Kelvin by saying that men should not be weak against alcohol in front of women even though they do not like to drink. Not only Kelvin, Lusia is also weak with alcohol because it makes orange juice. They really enjoyed the dishes that were served along with jokes and laughter.

Unknowingly the night was getting late. In the midst of Reisa and Lucia's busy life telling stories about their school days, suddenly Kelvin who was sitting across the table facing Lucia, got up from his seat. He pulled out his chair and took it to Lucia, and he put it near Lucia.

Reisa and Lucia suddenly stopped their conversation, their eyes immediately turned to Kelvin. Kelvin continued to push his seat, hitting the empty seat that had been next to Lusia.

“What are you doing ?” lucy asked slowly looking at Kelvin's behavior.

“Haistt..., why he is not self-conscious and does not want to go” said Kelvin put his bed, ruffled waist standing with a look of astonishment. It was as if he was struggling in his world.

“Dia ?” tanya Lusia stared at the empty bench next to her.

“Hey, you should be able to work and leave, I want to sit here. Don't stop me” shouted Kelvin again pushing his chair, he wanted to put it next to the chair of Lusia but was blocked by the empty bench. Kelvin's shout and his behavior invited the attention of other visitors who looked at him by shaking his head.

"Looks like he's drunk" whispered the visitor next to their table. David just smiled with a gulp of wine.

“What is he drunk on ? just with a glass of wine?” whispered Reisa to David.

“Looks like he's going to start getting out of control” replied David Iirih shaking his head at the behavior of his good friend.

Lucia looked at David and Reisa to confirm their reaction, whether only she felt strange about Kelvin's attitude. David just shrugged his shoulders as if he knew nothing.

“Do you want to sit here ?” ask Lucia slowly.

Kelvin nodded while holding his chair. "But he blocked my seat to enter” Kelvin pointed to the empty bench in annoyance.

"You see, my girl only knows if I want to sit there. So get out of the way immediately" continued Kelvin raving alone.

Knowing the meaning of kelvin's ridiculous behavior, Lucia immediately put away the bench and grabbed the kusri Kelvin brought and placed it right next to him.

“Sit down.. “ says Lucia pats the chair asking Kelvin to sit down.

“Wahh, why is he more in accordance with you” said Kelvin immediately sat down and leaned his head on the shoulder of Lucia.

“This is how he behaves when drunk ?” murmured Lucia let Kelvin borrow her shoulder.

“Very comfortable... “ kelvin said while closing his eyes.

Lucia just chuckled at Reisa and David. David looked not surprised, he just smiled letting Kelvin behave silly. Reisa and Lusia are unaware of Kelvin's unique habit of being drunk because they have never gone out drinking together before.

“What is his IQ down when drunk ?” laughable Reisa. Lucia laughed at hearing that.

They continued to eat dessert, while Lucia only occasionally sipped her juice. He could not move much because Kelvin was still leaning on his shoulder.

“Oh yes Lusia, why don't you just take a blind date?” reisa's question surprised Lucia.

“Blind date whatanya” replied Lusia.

“Cannot !!!” kelvin with eyes still closed.

“What he just said, I think he's completely unconscious. Is he still drunk?” asked Reisa astonished to hear the original Kelvin speech connected with their chat.

“I'm not drunk, and this girl is mine ! No blind dates, no no no! is it ?” kelvin asked Lucia with a smile while embracing Lucia's arm. Lusia was just silent with glaring eyes glancing here and there not knowing what to answer.

“Better we outsmart him before he becomes more and more wild” David chirped.

“You take care of your friend and I'll go home with Lucia” Reisa told David to separate Kelvin from Lucia.

Reisa grabs Kelvin's hand, helps him release it from Lucia's arm and helps Lucy get up from the chair. Suddenly there was a scream that shocked both and all the visitors there.

“What are you doing? Keep your hands off her!” kelvin's orders put Reisa's hands away.

“What did you say ? just nod” said Reisa by stroking his chest.

“She's mine!” kelvin snapped by pulling Lucia towards him.

“Stop bragging, she's with me first than you. So how can he suddenly become yours without my permission” said Reisa replied by getting rid of Kelvin and again pulled the arm of Lucia standing beside him.

Kelvin who was still drunk instantly could not keep his balance became ugly when Reisa pulled Lucia's body from him. He almost fell down, but Lucia swiftly helped and held him back. Kelvin immediately grabbed onto Lucia's waist and pulled her body until she fell in her arms.

Lusia's heart was gurgling, his face flushed red as Kelvin's handsome face was very close to him. Kelvin looked at him with a sad look. Kelvin brought his face closer and made Lucia more nervous.

Lucia who was still shocked and confused just kept silent without a word with her face getting flushed.

“Why didn't you answer it?“ kelvin clutched his face with both hands.

“Kelvin you're drunk..” replied Lucia stammering.

“I really like you Lusia” said Kelvin hugged Lucia again and was unconscious.

David took a deep breath. “Can't he clatter in the right way” grunts him with a small voice.

Reisa who wants to help is detained by David. He asked Reisa to sit down. Without saying much David immediately grabbed Kelvin's body from Lucia. Lucia who already seemed unable to bear Kelvin's body began to feel relieved with the help of David. David turned his back and lowered his head and held the man in the back.

"Can you do it ?" ask Lucy to David.

"Well, you're strong too" continued Lucia seeing David holding Kelvin on his back.

“Of course, that strong man is my man..” whispered Reisa in the ear of Lusia. Lucia replied with a goosebumps reaction hearing him.

“Then will he be weak and lose his strength if he is not already a man?” lusia said, looking at Reisa's purity. Reisa laughed when she heard Lucia.

Back to the present.

Reisa and Lucia continued their conversation by lying on the mattress.

“I'll assume I didn't hear anything back then. I'm sure he won't remember what happened that night, nor what he said” said Lucia after recalling the incident that night.

“Do you think he's not serious?” ask Reisa.

“Entahlah..” replied Lusia back to the body.

“That's because you keep avoiding it” said Reisa.

“I just feel if he can get a better girl than me. I'm not sure how I feel about him either. Whether it's the same feeling or just a comfortable feeling of continuing to rely on it. I don't want to hurt her with that uncertainty. Therefore I will forget the incident” said Lucia.

“Alright, I understand. We cannot impose people's feelings and if it is destined there must be a way of its own. Ok, we can go to bed now. Today must be a very tiring and hard day for you” asked Reisa to end their chat.

The next day at the Flower Shop where Lucia worked, Lucia re-thought about her family's condition. He had to figure out a way to get the money right away. Another struggle to redeem his grandmother's house which was used as collateral for his stepfather's debt by his mother.

“Do I have to look for extra work again ?. But I don't have time left to take a new job. Do I have to work in cleaning ? because the work time is midnight until morning” said Lucia in heart.

“Wait..“ chirps Lucia remembered something.

“I don't need to add working hours but can get more salary. Right, but is the man's offer still valid ? The work is still unclear. Ah, forget it's not time to pick up jobs” grunya while looking for Mickey's phone number in contact with his phone.

Lucia is ready to dial Mickey's number to make a call. But he hesitated and put his phone back on.

“Do I have to negotiate with Reisa first ? But he will definitely forbid me from accepting that offer.”

Lucia paced back and forth in the shop thinking about what decision she should take. Lucia was worried to decide. Whether he should contact Reisa and ask her to help provide another solution, or just directly contact Mickey accept his offer without telling Reisa first. Instantly he stopped his footsteps and steadied his heart.

“Alright I've decided” said Lucia to the table to reach her phone back and make a call.
